what's good everybody?
i'm new here and lookin to join in on the festivities this galaxy can offer. i'm in school right now, and i could use rp'ing to get my mind off of essays, etc. i was thinking about making a sith character, but leaning towards non-force wielding. whenever i thought of sith characters, i've always imagined a red lightsaber. the idea of being part of the sith without any force abilities sounds uniquely fun.
i was just wondering, after looking over the sith roaster—i noticed there were no commanders. are there steps someone in the brotherhood has to go through to get that status?

Howdy! First of, welcome.
Now, I'm not a member of the Sith or SBZ, so I can't speak for them. However, I do think you can start as a commander (but it wouldn't mkae sense for a newbie). And as for a non-force "Sith", I'd recommend the Sacred Band of Ziost.

Pleasure to meet you, @xrisxian, I'm glad you've decided to join the site. To answer your question, the steps to becoming a Commander a rather simple: show your worth. Now, what could that mean? You just need to be active, participate in a myriad of missions, and contribute to the Sith in a positive fashion. Given some time, I don't doubt you'll be on the road to becoming a (SBZ) Commander! There have been several Commanders in the past, but they've typically just "evolved" out of the position (e.g. Thoz Bristlebutt), etc. However, if you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask!

I'll tag the SBZ Warlord tho, @nerd @Relent, and he might be able to also get you acclimated with what's up in the SBZ.

Hi there, welcome to the site!

I'm excited to see you're interested in joining the Brotherhood. To further expand on Deviant's answers to your question:

The Sacred Band of Ziost is the mostly non-force sensitive subfaction within the Sith Brotherhood. You can not start out at the Commander rank - the higher ranks of the Brotherhood (Commanders and Lords/Darths) are for members and characters that are very active and show leadership both Out of Character and In Character. There aren't really any "steps" that members have to take to work towards these ranks, but my AFLs and I pay attention to the activities of our members and determine who deserves promotions based on that. We did recently have two Commanders, until Relent and I were both promoted and his character ranked up to the Warlord position while mine had to leave. :D
