NAME: Nidari Oberu

APPEARANCE:
Nidari's complexion is dark, as befits most of her species. Her long, dark hair is usually worn in a bun or braid when she is working, and down whenever she is not. Her eyes are an odd golden color, often resulting in people mistaking her for Sith. On both of her arms she has sleeve tattoos of butterflies, no specific species, just dozens of butterflies from her wrists to her shoulders. She also one of the few Wrean who do not cover their gills completely. Most engine rooms are humid and hot, which is a good environment for her gills to be open in.
ATTRIBUTES:
Strengths: Thanks to her Wrean biology and upbringing, Nidari is an excellent swimmer, underwater combatant, and is fluent in several of the submarine languages of the galaxy. Her versatility with tools and slender frame allow her to fit into the smaller spaces in ships when making repairs. Due to her time serving with the Alliance, Nidari has become quite adept in shooting things.
Weaknesses: An unfortunate result of her biology, NiDari must make sure to keep her gills sealed and clean when above water, or she would start to act very fatigued and essentially crash. She is also not the most athletic person, making her unreliable in a melee fight.
PERSONALITY:
Nidari is a slightly private person, wishing to keep herself to herself, but also not wanting to seem like a killjoy. In social situations she tends to be the odd man out, her analytical brain making for awkward jokes and untimely laughter. But, she manages to make it through breaktime on her ship without making a complete fool of herself, which is all one can hope for in life, right?
Otherwise, when dealing with machines and her fellow engineers, she tends to be very loud and sociable, because these are her people the have the same sense of humor and understand it. Nidari thinks like an engineer, she works through every problem like it is a machine: Step 1, what's happened. Step 2, can it be fixed? Step 3, can it be fixed with duct tape? Step 4, solve the problem. She also has a slight obsession with butterflies, ever since she saw her first in person on a mission for the alliance, she hasn't stopped thinking about them.
BIOGRAPHY:
Living most of her life underwater, Nidari wanted to escape her planet as soon as she could. Not that there was anything wrong with Wrea. She had a good family and home, her father was a mechanic and her mother was a professional fighter. Nidari learned her way around her father's mechanic shop, and learned fighting techniques from her mother throughout her childhood.
Around the age of ten, Nidari discovered that she was able to use the Force. Once news of this discovery reached the Fatemarked Shamans of her town, she was offered the chance to become a shaman, and then eventually a fatemarked. But, Nidari did not want to pursue such a life. So, she agreed to allow them to train her in how to control her connection to the Force, and how to hide it from those who might seek to use her for it.
After a few years of training in the basic uses of the force, and learning how to suppress her connection to it, Nidari went back to her home and continued her life, choosing to still not use the Force in anyway, shape, or form. After finishing her higher education in the physics and engineering of spacecraft, Nidari made her way off the planet of Wrea, and traveled to Endor, the closest Alliance-occupied planet to her own. When she arrived, she was met with great suspicion, but was soon accepted into their ranks, as a Rebel.
SKILLS:
Nidari's skills with a gun are about average, she much prefers to have a wrench in her hand than a blaster, but always carries one on her. Her skills with machines are most definitely above average, she can fix most hyperdrives in the Galactic Alliance's fleet, with the exceptions of the overly large ships. In Hand-to-hand combat, Nidari has above-average training but doesn't really take the time to hone and improve her skills, going to the sparring rings every once in a while to keep herself in shape is the most she does.
