Spintir - Baize Homestead

Jon sat on the porch of the farmhouse slowly rocking in a chair, packed bag sitting beside him. Luna lay curled up by his feet, gently snoring after a hard day's work. Guin still had a few minutes to arrive, but Jon wasn't worried. The woman always seemed to arrive right on time.

He had been trying to get Guin to take some time off for a while. She worked too hard, her head buried in some conspiracy or another. Jon needed to make a trip and figured it was the perfect time to get Guin out for a bit as well.

Luna's ears twitched and she snapped out of sleep, looking up at the sky. Jon didn't hear or see anything just yet but figured it was her arriving. He looked down at his chrono.

"Right on time..." he said with a chuckle.

Spintir had long ago become a great spot for Guin's secret retreats, with two of her favorite people and several four-legged friends to make the trip extra special. The last time she'd spoken with Kali, she'd made a tongue-in-cheek remark that perhaps Jon had the right idea when it came to retiring - the scenic views she was cherishing now didn't do anything to dispel such thoughts.

Entirely unsure what Jon may have had in store for them today, Guin packed a few things into a backpack and picked a suitable outfit in case it involved the great outdoors. She'd be lying if she tried to claim any experience with hiking and the like, but when had that ever stopped her?

Jon had insisted on leaving behind as much modern tech as possible, something that frustrated the tech queen but begrudgingly she accepted defeat knowing he wouldn't budge on these demands. Arriving in casual style at the Baize homestead, he'd spot her smile from a mile away as she grinned from ear to ear.

"Hey Jon." She said excitedly, moving in to embrace him before pulling back and ticking Luna under her jaw. "It's so good to see you both, oh my, they've grown." Truth be told, they all had in all their little ways.

A moment later, her ship came into view and she made her way up to the house. The farm dog, recognizing the familiar figure took off as Jon pushed himself up from the chair.

He met Guin, hugging her before smiling as he stepped back. "Glad you could come out!" he responded. Luna's tail wagged furiously, obviously a sucker for any attention. She rolled over on her back, the unspoke plea for belly rubs obvious.

He had purposefully kept the plans from Guin. They would be going off-world but were not in a big of a rush. "I am ready to go, but can I get you anything to eat first?" he asked. "Just got back from a hunt this morning, had a decent haul," he said.

"How have you been? It's been a minute," he said, folding his arms. "It's been rough finding good karaoke this far out," he said with a sigh, turning back towards the house.

If the entire holiday had just been hanging out with the Baize family, that would have been A-Okay with Guin. But knowing Jon, the man couldn't simply rest and was always busy doing something. Building, farming, or something equally useful and interesting, although the blonde couldn't say she'd done much of either.

"Oh yes, please." She answered enthusiastically after his call for food. "Can I try something you've grown here? I've heard such great tales but alas tried none yet thus far." Her giggle followed suit. It would be so much easier if they could simply export the produce to Raxus.

"Tell me about it." She winced, considering how long it had been. They'd been through a few encounters themselves of which some were life and limb and despite all of this, karaoke was still her calling card. "Well, work's been keeping me quite busy as you could imagine." Life at the ISB was never quiet even on a good day, but the Hutt conflict had only made the hours worse.

Pulling a small fuzzy rabbit out of her backpack, Guin handed it over to Jon with a wide smile. "Don't think I was gonna gloss over the biggest news this side of the galaxy! I hear a name isn't the only thing you're going to be sharing with Kali." She winked playfully. The joyful news was not widely spread yet but Guin wasn't left in the dark long before her bestie shared it.

"Congratulations Jon, you will make an amazing father, I know it." She said proudly, walking along with him.
