The following thread takes place a year prior to the begining of DOTR, in the luxurious tourist city of Tyrena, on Corellia.
Mid-afternoon, clear sunny day

Corellia_5.jpg

What a perfect day.

Every corner of Tyrena was filled with sunshine. A hint of sea air drifed in all the way from the Golden Beaches, and the streets were filled with laughter, awe, and the latest fashions. The excited energy of the afternoon promised to give way to a festive evening, and the seductive call of promoters offered something for everybody. She had actually been enjoying it all...until now.

In may have been bourgeoisie, but Tyrena had always seemed pleasant to Diva. Having performed in Groola's Palace many times as a girl, she very familiar with the city, and it was just too beautiful to let her dwell on painful memories. Besides that, she was on the hunt, and this one was gonna feel good. Oagid Silum. This shad sucking Twi'lek was wanted out in the rim for several counts of of fraud, racketeering, and rape. He targeted small rim colonies, and finally a few had pooled enough money to throw a worthwhile bounty on him. They couldn't afford Hunter's Guild prices, but that all played right into Diva's territory. As an added bonus she actually got to claim moral high ground on this one, something she had nearly forgotten. He was needed alive, but not whole, and Diva smiled every time she thought about it.

Then came the rub. She had tracked him to a Sport Hunting [poachers] club he was a member of, tucked into a side street off the main thoroughfare of Tyrena. No-doubt that clubhouse was filled with sentients of similar character to Ooagid, and it was pretty clear they kept the place locked up tight. Diva had been trying something new called "servelience", which was paying off, just not how she hoped. From the highline gardens nearby she watched a chump little Rodian she knew get the bum's rush. Kriff. The rodian was Dweet, an amateur hunter like Diva, but a much heavier emphasis on amateur. He had now proven what Diva suspected: the doormen had been instructed to close off to the public, meaning no one that wasn't a member, or republic authority (i.e. law enforcement or Bounty Hunter's guild) was getting in. The real pisser was that Dweet had know made it known that Silum was compromised, so he wouldn't be leaving anytime soon either. That miserable, lipless green rodent...

Diva took a walk to clear her head. She blended in well here today, in that she stood out, and tried to let the pleasure of it distract her. She was wearing tight fitting dark grey flight pants, cut to make room for her large, wide toed feet. A dark, burgundy lashaa silk shirt with a v, neck and broad flat collar actually made the very light armor vest she wore half zipped look like a fashion choice. Her well cut white duster hid the two blasters on her thighs, and the knife and stun cuffs on her belt. The most pride came from her hair, which she had made a point of doing the way she liked it today, a high purple mohawk with neat braided rows on the side.

A halo of thick yellow smoke circled Diva as she paced the streets trying to formulate a plan. Gods she loved the T'bacc she picked up here. It tasted like smoked caramel, and gave her a sharp buzz that helped her think. She needed this money, and she couldn't wait to drag that Hutt licking scab back to her ship by his leku. Every moment she took gave him another to arrange some way out. She had maybe a two hour window. Kriff, How could she get to him?

Then inspiration struck, or rather, appeared. Diva fell against a bulding, and threw on her best non-chalant as she spotted one of the galaxies finest exiting his ship. The trouble with being Theelin meant being too auspicious to pull a bump and grab pickpocket...but getting into a docking station... No. No, Diva this is insane. Break into a Sector Ranger's ship for some papers?

For now she waited. Waited and watched. She shifted into a group of smokers outside another landing bay and fixed her eyes on this dashing young Ranger, and the handsome crafte he left behind...It may cost her a bribe or two... but she could get in their. She was sure of it.

(OOC: Hopefully this post is good)

Triton had become a sector ranger just a short while ago, but he has been quickly making a name for himself in the field, at first the ranger didn't see the connection but after a little more digging, and 5 nights of no sleep he figured out who it was doing the crimes in the out rim. Which was why he was here, to take down the man that was too be arrested, though Triton was sure he was going to have a fight on his hand, he doubt that their would be a fight over who got the criminal. Bounty hunters were something the sector ranger had mix feelings about, considering that bounty hunters don't usually care for those that get in the mix of their bounties.

Looking back he regretted agreeing to his younger sisters pleas to take her to Corellia, really what was he thinking taking her here where he was about to take down a criminal. In all honestly if RA-7 wasn't keeping a eye on her, he would be having a heart attack right now. He couldn't and wouldn't lose her not after the Jedi failed in keeping his mother alive.

Looking back at the ship, his younger sister was most likely getting ready to go shopping or whatever a young girl does on a planet like this. Carrying his two republic pistols hoping to avoid a battle, but it was most likely that their will be a fight. The Sector Ranger didn't pay attention to the smokers or anyone near the ship as it didn't seem to be that much of a issue.

Time to earn my pay, Triton said walking to the very building that Diva was once watching.

(ooc: all I needed. I'm gonna take a LOT of liberties here for plot purposes, lemee know if it's too much, and I'll rethingk it. I'm hoping to move us to the place where we are through with these broad strokes, and can directly interact more turn based)

It was too perfect. Like a shiny jogan fruit hanging from the branch. Whoever this Ranger was, he looked fresh...and what was this? He had a kid. Cute little girl, to old to be his, a sister maybe? Must be. Good. He was here on vacation, not business. Noooope. Shad snacks. Diva watched the Ranger give instructions to his droid, then send it off in another direction with the girl. He was definitely here on business, and Diva froze when she realized what direction he was headed. She frantically tried to dismiss the coincidence: the Lodge was at least a kilometer away & he could be going anywhere. Ooagid had a rim bounty, to small time for Republic law, right? In the end it didnt' matter, Diva didn't have time to burn. As soon as it made sense she made her move. Her nerves were soon quelled when she realized just how easy this would be.

Hey blue-bell..

Diva purred as she saw just who the station agent was attending this loading bay. Nalu, an old Twi'lek flame of hers with hips that didn't quit. Diva heard that Nalu had finally gotten out from under Shifty's thumb, but this was absolutely too good to be true. Unfortunately, this theelin didn't have time to look a gift horse in the mouth, a problem she realized had become recurring. True to form, Nalu wasn't cheap, but was willing to give Diva what she wanted. Within 2 minutes, and with Nalu's splicing, Diva was standing in a Sector Ranger's private ship. Her heart was racing: this was seriously sketchy, even for Diva Tumi. She could not get caught. Working as delicalately as she could she began searching. A jacket pocket, a few storage bins; Diva was doing her best to leave things as she found them, but this wasn't her strong suit. Then it hit her..the cockpit. Duh. And there it was, in the dash compartment. Obviously he had his physical badge with him, but here was his holoshot backup. Diva was glad to be out the door a few seconds later.

Nalu, the blessed creature, had called for a speeder. Go time. The ride was brief, but Diva used it wisely. First, she had to get control of her adrenaline rush from that fortuitous little caper she just pulled. Second, check her blasters, make sure they are on stun. That mistake had been made a few too many times before. Third, try her knew toy. She fired it up and cave her bothan driver her best rendition of "the business"

I'm on Ranger business, just pull up to the door and move along quickly... for your own safety.

The Bothan knew this meant he wasn't getting his fare, and took a longer look at the holographic badge than Diva would have liked. "Sure thing, Ranger...Triton?"

Yyyeah..Triton Octave..
Diva barely recovered from that one, as her eyes stole a glance at the holoshot. Details Diva, details. She had burnt a lot of luck in the last few pulse pounding minutes, and she knew she was gonna need a lot more soon. Fortunatelya rotten turn was on it's way to help balance the scales. As they closed in on their destination, the real Triton Octave came into view about two blocks out. There was no longer doubt in her mind, he was after Silum. Kriff.

No turning back now. Her only option was to get the collar before he arrived. The law was on her side if she could get there first. Diva didn't want any questions so she left a more than polite pile of credits in the Bothan's cab before she left from the speeder a few feet from the door to The Raptor and Rabbit, Ooagid's hunting lodge.

A bulky, and thankfully dim looking human wore a poorly cut suit and gaurded the door.

"Members only Ms... " He grunted with an enormous hand outstretched. At times like this, Diva was very thankfull she had grown up performing. She lit Triton's holoshot and waved it unusually close the thugs face. This had the desired effect, and the ape of a man was immediately disoriented.

Triton Octave, Sector Rangers. I'm here under republic authority.. the door please

"Now wait..."

I will not. You obey the law now and open that door, or this whole building gets raided for violation of republic law... Diva subdued her panic best she could.

"Sure thing miss..."
He wasn't as stupid as Diva would have liked, and his suspicion was evident, but he opened the door an that was enough. Not a moment to soon either, because the real Triton rounded the corner at that exact moment. She couldn't help but lock eyes with him as she stepped inside. Oh, Diva, what have you done.

Once inside, cigar smoke and bad cologne flooded her lungs. She had to think fast. Their was a short hallway before curtains opened up into what was be the main loungs. The decoratins was almost exclusively pelts and trophy heads from exotic beasts from all around the galaxy, broken up with the occasinal "tasteful" nude, or gold plated sporting rifle. Gross. Still in the grand entry way, Diva shooed off the valet tugging at her coat and started off for the lounge, where she could hear the unpleasant chortling of men who were undeniably full of themselves. Palming the holoshot in her left hand she pinched it hard between two of her lethal fingernails until the satisfaction of a crunch helped take some stress off her that she did not want to carry into that room. As fun as the idea of keeping that thing would seem, at least now she could say "prove it" when Triton inevitably caught up to her. Hopefully that would be enough. But first.

(OOC: hey since took some liberty if you feel like I should change it I will. Also can't wait to see what happens.)

Triton was a man who knew how to use the force, an he hated ever second of it. The force had abandon him, yet even now it called out to him warning him of something. Which drove the sector ranger to be in a mad mood, the walk was long but he was in a great physical condition. Though his own training, the war and his time with the Jedi, allowing him to have a body most dream of.

Carrying his standard body armor hidden under his leather jacket and shirt, his pistols on stun and the stun cuffs hitting his thigh as he continue to walk towards his target. The speeds went by him in speed that kind of wish he had gotten one, yet it didn't matter now. Almost there the warrior took a moment to focus not trough the force but rather his mind readying it for the sudden and dangerous action that might follow.

Walking and making the turn he saw a Theelin walking in with a holoshot, which just so happened to look like his. The front doors man let her though but it was clear the large human was worried and suspicion. Walking up as fast as possible the sector ranger took out his badge and kept a hand on his pistol in case something happened.

"Sir I'm Sector Ranger Triton, I have to ask you to move aside, and if you would be so kind to tell me who you just let in, it would be much appreciated." Triton said politely trying to keep things by the book but knowing things can just set people off, best not to fight makes him looks bad.

Triton waited for the man's response, depending on the front doors mans response, the warrior might just be kicking the door down and hunting down two criminals.

Sector Ranger Triton? The doorman raised an eyebrow, and frowned. He hasitly punched a suspicious red button in the corner of the door's control panel. Notably, this did not open the door, which the broad shouldered humand now placed himself in front of. I'm gonna need to see some ID...

Diva put on her business face and paraded into the main lounge, head held high. There were roughly a dozen member's present on the first floor, and two goonish security types she could see. Three gentlemen engaged in conversation were smoking in a corner, another reading by an oversized fire pit, and the rest were surounding a sabacc table. There seemed to be a lot of opinions flying around over the outcome of the last hand. The winner of that hand? Ooagid Silum.

All discussion had ceased by the time Diva was 3 strides past the foyer. She milked the attention for a few axtra seconds as she swept past the fire place and tossed the bits of holoshot in. One problem solved. Securty was flanking the entryway, and Diva noticed a red light near the arch had started blinking. She could only imagine what that might mean. Right. Down to business. She took stage in the center of the room and squared off against her mark, who was already quite anxious.

Ooagid Silum, you're wanted in 4 seperate systems of the outer rim. You have evaded your warrant for crimes including fraud, racketeering, and sexual assault...
Diva bit that last one off pretty hard. In truth non of this was neccessary, but she took pleasure in watching a few of his card partners back away. Then, inspiration struck. A set of her stun cuffs landed dead center on the sabacc table infront of him.

We can make this easy, or my Sector Ranger friend at the door can help us settle our differences. Your call.

(OOC: Sorry for the short post wasn't going to be able to do much.)

Triton was worried the doorman seemed suspicious and confused which didn't help matter's considering whatever the brute did was most likely warning the people inside about his presence. This was where he wished that there was more freedom in his job, but that can't be changed right now, looking the man in the eye he shoved the badged in his face, and wasn't about to be refused entrance a second time.

"Now let me in for I will have to arrest you for obstructing justice." Triton said putting a hand on the doormans should and moving him away from the front door, if he was met with resistance than he would take measures to deal with the big man.

The sector would take out one of his blasters as he felt something bad was just about to happen and it didn't sit well with Triton, so he could feel the rush of getting in, for whatever was about to happen. He would press the bottom to open the door if the doorman didn't, and walk right through with heavy steps into the building.

(OOC: I am so sorry this took so long, I got really sick this weekend and was also in tech for work. Also, please feel free to manipulate or use the doorman and other npc's all you like.)

Silum, you've disgraced the entire lodge, drawing this sort of attention to yourself. Go with diginity...

The disgusted snarl came from an expensively dressed bothan, who rose from his reading chair to seemingly express displeasure with the entire room. He managed at least to hold the room in another few seconds of quite tension before one of Silum's disgruntled sabacc partners snapped one of the bands on Diva's stun cuffs to his wrist.

You heard 'im Ooagid, have some dignity *click*

Diva dares to hope in that moment that this might go smoothley, but that was fleeting. As soon as Ooagid was dragged to his feet, he made a break for it before the second cuff could be secured. Diva drew on him with her right, but both security gaurds drew on her in tern, more than a little confused by the situation. Furthermore she noticed several other hands in the room slipping precariously from sight. She was pinned, and Silum was on his way to the door, but that didn't last long either. Lekku trailing, Ooagid made it through the foyer only to watch the door fly open, and a furious looking Ranger burst in. This drew the attention, and the pistol, of one of the gaurds already inside, while the doorman pursued him in, reaching for his own gun. Two blasters on the ranger, one on Diva, her's on Ooagid, and a few hostiles behind her. Hope was never helpful. In almost perfect unison, the voice of everyone holding a blaster barked the same order.

NOBODY/ DON'T MOVE!

(OOC: hey if the font is too hard to read I will change it, made this post from my phone so it looks weird)

Triton was not happy it seemed the worst possible situation was happening right in front of his eyes, everyone had their weapons out, the woman he thought saw with his holobadge was also pointing her weapon at the man he was here for. So Triton had to be very careful, his face showing the annoyance that he was feeling, and with his pistol already in his right hand, edging for the second one the warrior was going to show that he wasn't someone to mess with.

It seemed two guns were on him, one on Ooagid from the woman, who will be dealt with as soon as the situation was under control, an than there one on her. This was going to turn bloody if he didn't disarm everyone quickly, how was the true question, where was of course "that" he could use. But he swear never to use it again, not after his mother's death, but than what could he do, even if he could talk down the guards from dropping the guns, how would he convince Ooagid and the woman to come with him. How likely was it for them to believe a bluff, Triton probably should have, yet he was sure that it would have to be a good bluff that would force most if not all of them to think twice before shooting.

"Listen up I'm Sector Ranger Triton Octave, I am not alone, the local police is surrounding this building as we speak; and my partner is outside working with them, if you wish to leave here in one piece I suggest coming with me." Triton spoke with a calm and uncaring tone, hoping to show no signs of lying, it would be doubtful if anyone would think he was lying as no one could tell what is happening outside.

"So everyone put your gun down now, I won't say twice. Know I will kill none of you, but doesn't mean I won't use necessary force to put you all down." This time Triton was more serious and threatening showing that he really was thinking of taking down a few guys.

Staring at everyone, giving them a glare hoping to come out intimidating and tough. If it works or not the ranger was ready for a fight with one hand holding a pistol another just over the second.

There was a moment of panic. Imediately following, was a smug senes of opportunity.

Ah, right on time ...partner.

Diva's grin was wide and toothy, as she locked her sparkling orange eyes with Triton's. She knew he had nothing. She had watched him drop his sister off for crying out loud. Once that realization kicked in she saw the situation pretty clearly. The security team kept glancing back and forth between each other and the Bothan in the lounge, who clearly must be some sort of den chief; and he had given up Ooagid as easily as an old sock. Noone involved wanted this to get ugly, at least not here, it would draw far to much attention. Diva may want to stay clear of Tyrena for awhile, but that she could live with once she cleaned up Silum's tidy little bounty. One things at a time, you have to give a little to get a little. so Diva let her blaster arm slack a littlle and dared a few steps forward.

Sorry for the theatrics gentlemen, we'll leave you to it. As for you...

The collective release of tension throughout the room, from gunmen and onlookers alike, was all the permision Diva needed to proceed. As soon as she was in reach her left talon of a hand snatched one of Ooagid's leku, and yanked back hard. As he whined in pain, a few grumbles of disgust were muttered around the lounge. Diva may have taken a few too many liberties there, but the Bothan silienced the room again with a curt wave of his hand. Diva immediately began ushering him towards the door.

If you want to keep your pigtails princess, you better finish buckling up.

Silum hissed in defiance, but the slightest twist of her wrist was all that was needed to remind him where he stood. Ooagid slipped his second hand into Diva's cuffs, and the gentle *click* and *whir* as they sealed were soothing to her indeed. Diva avoided eye contact with the confused doorman, the only one who had any reason to be extra suspicious, and kept her side eye firmly focused on the Ranger as her and Ooagid sauntered past. Her eyes and voice seemed to ccontradict one another, one saying "your welcome" and the other pleading for his support.

Come on Octave, let's leave these good people in peace...

(OOC: Sorry for the long wait.)

Triton could not believe what was happening this woman, most likely a bounty hunter was trying to take the man away from him, not only that but pretending to be a Ranger while doing it. Even if she knew he had nothing the woman was going to play the part that she knew wouldn't allow him to do anything but follow her lead. Which was just annoying and totally going to get her a one way ticket to the list in his head of people he needs to teach a lesson to. Locking eyes with her, he showed his displeasure and uneasiness, but knew he was stuck and now had to play into her game for just a little bit.

"Of course.. Partner." Triton spoke and didn't hide the displeasure as he said the word.

Those within the building knew not to mess with them even if the woman was lying Triton and her would open fire just as they would if anything happened, and that would end in a no win situation for everyone. So staring down anyone that dared tried to lock eyes with him, he watched as the woman put Ooagid in cuffs, and if it wasn't for the fact she was putting him in this kind of situation he would have been happy. But he would wait for the right time to act, he wasn't completely foolish, and knew from his past mistakes of just rushing into something.

Watching her get closer to him, the ranger face show no emotion neither reassuring her, or condemning her. Triton was going to figure out who she was and if there was anything he could do to arrest her. Knowing he needed to respond once more he spoke with a annoyed voice.

"Yea of course." Triton spoke, and when they got out of the building the ranger fired a stun shot on Oogarid and looked directly at the woman.

"So please tell me why I shouldn't arrest you right now?" Triton spoke showing how pissed and annoyed he was, knowing that he shouldn't be this upset about it, but still feeling used and like something was missing that wasn't right about this whole situation.

Seriously?!

Oagid convulsed and went limp while Diva was still gripping his Leku, and suddenly found herself supporting his body weight by the slithering appendage. She parked her blaster and enlisted both hands in the akward struggle to hoist him up a pitch him over her shoulder in a fireman-style carry. Grumbling the whole time.

You wanna do this here?....ooh, kriff... I already had him cuffed... Oh gross, now he's drooling on my new jacket. Awesome

Once she had Silum situated, she seemed surprisingly unburdened by the extra weight. After rolling her shoulders once or twice, she found a comfortable bearing and started heading off down the block. It was quite evident that Diva felt completely seccure in herself, and everytime she looked at Triton, she had nothing but a tender smirk to offer. She was trying not to be too nonchelant...really she was.

Arrest me? On what grounds Ranger? I've got my permit. This uselesss sack of Hutt dung is going to get justice. We make a great team, partner.

Pausing at the end of the street, Diva becam suddenly aware of the stares she was begining to get from the excited tourists filling the busy thuroughfare. She growled at a few of them, and managed to fish her case of cigarras from her jacket pocket. Without much trouble she popped one into her mouth, and was soon trailing a gentle brass colored smoke that smelt of fresh cedar and caramel. Now that she could think, she scanned the nervous populous around her and frowned..

Well this sucks...I don't suppose you can spot me cab fair to the slums?

(OOC: So sorry was busy with valentines day and college.)

Triton couldn't believe this woman, acting as if she wasn't being threaten with life in prison, so the ranger knew he was going to have to actually show he is serious, which meant she felt that, an when she gave him that smirk he almost flipped. This woman, this bounty hunter was messing with him, it was like a bad vid movie and Triton was the joke of it. As a ex Jedi he knew how to calm himself at least form what his master tried to instill in him, but this was just to far and pushing all of his buttons, he wasn't about to let this woman off the hook that easy.

"I am going to actually see that permit, plus there are a few questions I am going to have to insist you answer. Until I know everything that went down, I am going to have to arrest you for interfering with a ranger's duty, now please don't actually make he stun you. We will head to may ship and than I will figure out what happened." Triton spoke with a authoritative voice, an with a hint of annoyance.

Anything less than a yes would make Triton take into action as to not lose both Ooagid and this woman how has seemly made a fool out of him, and took his own target out from under his noise.

With no small effort, Diva managed to stop her eyes mid roll. Dropping them humbely to the ground she sighed, and, after adjusting the limp sack of blue flesh and tacky robes resting on her shoulders, raised her hands to head hieght, and exposed her palms, empty save for the cigarra dangling from her right. All outward appearances were of complete surrender. Even she had to admit that this situation had gone to the edge and back a few more times than she should have allowed, and now this was unfortunately one of those times where sacrificing dignity over ego was the better choice for survival. Luckily, as she had no reason to lie to this chump, her voice was able to provide a reassuring, submissive tone.

I'll cooperate gladly officer...now I'm gonna reach for my registration... Here.

After slowly plucking a small holobit from her jackets front breast pocket, she tossed it to him. It would project a perfect representation of the piece of paper she had pinned to the wall on her ship: a Republic Bounty License with her name on it, totally legit. She had every legal right to be perusing this aquisition, and had even gotten her cuffs on him first, which was usually considered fair claim. This wasn't her first rumble with a ranger, and her experience had varried widely, but most were more amiable in these situations. It was startling that this man was so willing to discharge his weapon needlesly around such a huge concentration of civilians; at least until she remembered why he was probably so agitated. Incidentally, she had retreated back a few steps upon her surrender, and was now far enough in the street, that despite the wide bearth her and the unconcious Oagid recieved, two gentelment even crossed bewteen Diva and Zekk in their hurry to round the corner. How intentional this move was is anyone's guess for now. As he had her holochit to examine, she cautiously took another puff of her ciggara, before begining a second appeal.

Hey, I am sorry I had to put you through the run around back there, but I just wanted to prevent any unnecessary violence , as I'm sure you do. Now as you see, I'm not some Guild lacky, just an honest republic hunter, and I want to see the people this slimeball wronged get justice. The only difference between us is that I need to pay my rent. I don't want to step on your toes any more than I have, and I will answer any questions you need me too Officer, but why don't we go to my ship? Oagid is wearing my cuffs, frankly, I don't want to walk all over town with him on my back, my ship is closer, and I think I've got a bottle of Merenzane Gold we can open to talk this out... Besides, I've been watching that lodge full of bantha shad for awhile now, and they know your name, right? If we head straight back there, we will be walking into a trap, garunteed.

Diva turned out her still open hands in a concilatory gesture, and tried tosmile in a way that would appear less threatening to this loose cannon. Yeah, so maybe she made things a little difficult...whatever. At least she didn't have to lie to him. That was the delightful fact that made this bearable to Diva. Spinning some bullshit was a lot easier when she didn't have to make any of it up. And there was something particularly scintilating and even enjoyable in the suspense of these hostile encounters, but may all the gods of the galaxy have mercy on his soul if he pulled that trigger...
