DESCRIPTION​

The Nssis-class is the main starfighter of the Chiss Ascendency, one can tell by looking at it that it combines elements from the old Imperial TIE Fighter and the Chiss. The clawcraft is indeed a hybrid development of Chiss and Imperial technology. The devolpment of these starfighters started with the Chiss and the Galactic Empire were sharing technology some time after Mitth'raw'nuruodo (better known as Thrawn) made contact with Emperor Palpatine. The craft, like the TIEs, mounts ion engines.

The clawcraft is very much an improvement over the standard TIE fighter in most areas; a mounted hyperdrive, a stronger array of weapons and an option of torpedos or missile launchers, and the four laser cannons at the pointed wingtips. Not to mention the medium deflector screen and the better armored hull give it much better defensive capabilities of the standard TIE fighter.

In the past, Nssis clawcraft instead of using a navicomputer, used a Chiss proprietary beacon system that lets it make faster-than-light jumps without a navicomputer which saves space and weight for other systems. This was be a double-edge sword as the starfighter would be dependent on navigation data transmitted from other sources. Although newer models instead have the navicomputer installed by default.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. These ships are proprietary property of the Chiss Ascendency, in addition to following other laws regarding starfighter ship use. Unauthorized use or possession of these ships is illegal in the eyes of the Ascendency.

INTENT​

Inspired by the influx of interest for the Chiss and to import their trademark starfighter from Legends to the site fanon.

RESTRICTIONS​

These fighters are exclusively property of the Chiss military such as the Chiss Defense Force or the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. It is extremely unlikely that any non-Chiss would have access to this starfighter thus this starfighter is restricted to the Chiss.
