NULA SYGTI
[fancybox4="http://i1160.photobucket.com/albums/q499/caffeineferret1977/nula2_zpsotg6mmov.jpg"]Full Name: Nula Sygti
AGE: 37
SPECIES: Human
HEIGHT: 5'6"
WEIGHT: 140 lbs
EYE COLOR: Brown
HAIR COLOR: Brown
SKIN COLOR: Tanned
MARKINGS: N/A
FACTION: Jedi
RANK: Jedi Knight

Healthy. That could be one way to describe Nula at a quick glance. Her height is hairsbreadth above average, while her physique is of someone who stays quite fit. While muscle definition can be seen upon her arms and shoulders, the muscularity isn't overly-bulky for her height and weight. The rest of Nula is quite average; brown eyes set in an oval face, a slightly long nose and thin lips. Her hair is an echo of her eyes, holding a shade of brown that's only slightly darker than her eyes. Her hair is cropped quite short along the back and sides, with her bangs holding the only real length to them. Typically her bangs are swept to the left side of her face, though when harried, they tend to fall across her forehead.

While many of her brethren wear predominately brown and robes over that, Nula doesn't. Instead, she has foregone robes and settled instead with the simple attire of her pre-Jedi years. A fitted shirt of dark green covers her upper body, with the long sleeves flaring slightly at her wrists. Around her waist sits a wide black leather belt and from it hangs a variety of pouches, as well as Nula's lightsaber. Finishing off this particular outfit of the day are her pants and boots. Her pants are a dusky or milky white in color, while her boots are the same dark shade of black as her belt. Her boots rise mid-way to her calves with her pants tucking neatly into the black leather.

ATTRIBUTES

Strength: Nula's strength is above average for her weight and height, simply because she stays fit. She has a daily routine of exercising and training that allows her to lift/move things that allows her this strength. There is, of course, a limit to her strength and unless she augments herself with the Force, anything above her strength range could possibly cause injury.

Dexterity: Much like her strength, Nula has above average dexterity. This means she could possibly twist or dodge away from an oncoming attack with enough notice. Those with a skill level above her dexterity level would be able to surprise Nula with a sneak-attack, which she would likely not be able to dodge.

Constitution: Unless augmented with the Force, Nula's constitution is average for her height and weight, as well as age. She's definitely fit, but that doesn't mean she won't feel fatigue when she's pushing herself hard.

Intelligence: While not as intelligent as her older sister, Nula is still quite smart. Her knowledge is more focused on real-world skills and common sense, versus read knowledge. From her intelligence, if Nula put her mind to learning something skill-based, typically she would be able to. Like everything though, there is a limit of skills that can be learned, versus skills that require actual talent.

Charisma: Nula is friendly. She's not the dour type, nor is she the gruff, or abrasive type. Her nature is quite open and she's typically friendly to all. From that, most would likely find Nula easy to talk to or approach.

Wisdom: Nula is no longer the young, brash thing, she used to be. She has enough years under her belt now to afford her some wisdom when making decisions or approaching various types of situations. That doesn't mean to say she can never make a mistake (because she can!) but she won't up and run into a situation without first assessing what's going on.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox4="http://i1160.photobucket.com/albums/q499/caffeineferret1977/nula3_zpsjx9bviw4.jpg"] Nula Sygti was born within a small town, upon an equally small planet that resides within the Outer Rim. This particular planet was small enough that it held no real name to those who flew past the planet, but for Nula (and the slowly growing population upon the planet), it was home.

Much like the planet, her family was quite small, consisting of herself, her mother and her older sister. Nula's mother was a tinkerer and held odd jobs throughout Nula's childhood, but even so, the trio still managed to afford reasonable shelter and enough food for them all.

It was Nula's sister that showed an aptitude for learning, enough so, that the school system upon the planet marked her as someone to watch. For Nula, while she was intelligent, it was no where near her older sister's level. This didn't seem to bother either sibling (or mother) much, as Nula found her niche within the forested areas around their small town.

Partnering with one of the elder women of the town, Nula soon discovered her love for growing things and the quiet solitude found within the forest. Along with learning what plants helped and what could hinder, Nula soon found herself learning the secrets of the forest. Oddly (at least to some) Nula had a knack for avoiding the dangers of the forest. That's not to say she was never hurt within the shade dappled areas, but she never seemed to run into the more ferocious beasts like others have.

Unknown to Nula and her family, this was the blossoming of her Force sensitivities. Whenever she had a bad feeling about an area, she would simply avoid it. Or leave as quickly as possible.

Fast forward several years later, Nula easily found herself to be quite the guide as well as herb-woman. While she was only fifteen, that didn't stop her from taking the odd job to help bring in a bit more credit for her family. Most of these jobs entailed finding a specific herb, or plant. These jobs were often given to her by one of the villagers, mainly the women of the town, while she would also occasional snag a guide-job for an off-worlders. While the planet didn't receive many off-world visitors, there was just enough traffic from ships making pit-stops or the exotic plant and animal hunter that the planet's commerce saw a benefit from it.

It was during one of those fleeting off-world visits that Nula's life would be changed.

A woman came to their small little town. She had stopped to make emergency repairs upon her ship. Nula's mother was the only tinkerer in town that particular day and as such, the woman hired her to help with repairs. It was during this particular job that the Jedi felt a pull towards young Nula. There was something about Nula, a sense that this particular Knight knew well. Discreet inquiries confirmed to the Jedi that the family, really the whole town, were quite unaware of Nula's gifts. They all attributed her ability to stay safe within the forest to 'luck', when that was hardly the case.

Before the Jedi Knight, Sana Tyr, left the planet she approached Nula and finally revealed why the young woman was so adept at finding plants, as well as avoiding the dangers of the forest.

And so began the training of Padawan Nula Sygti.

Time passed and Nula learned all she could from her Master. She found the woman to be tough, but ultimately fair. Something she was already used to thanks to her tutelage from the elderly woman back home. As she learned the tenants of the Jedi as well as the code, Nula likewise trained in lightsaber combat and diplomacy. As the two trained, Nula found that she had an partiality to the Healing side of the Force. Healing, for Nula, came far easier than some of the lightsaber stances Master Tyr was trying to teach her.

The majority of Nula's training occurred on the job with Master Tyr. They would go from planet to planet, helping where they could, as well as filtering back any intelligence they could to the Jedi. Hostilities were definitely getting worse; both between Jedi and Sith, and also Jedi and the rest of the scum that could be found within the underbelly of the worlds. To say this journey of hers was eye-opening beyond belief is an understatement. Even for all the faults of her home planet, her particular village had kept her from seeing the true darkness of the world.

Eventually though, like all padawans, Nula found herself ready for the trials. Or, at the very least, thinking she was ready for the trials. While she has never spoken of just what she had to face within her own trials, pass them she did. It was by far the scariest thing she ever encountered. More so than when she left her family so many years ago.

Once she felt some surety of her Knighthood, Nula found herself mentoring a Padawan of her own. A young Togruta man that went by Shusca. At first, she felt uncertain of herself and her teaching abilities, but eventually the mentorship become much more natural on both of their parts.

Change would occur again, as its wont to do, with the death of her Padawan. The two were heading back to the Temple for Shusca to attempt his trials. Before they could get to Lothal, however, the two were ambushed. While they acquired enemies throughout their careers neither thought a caravan of mercs would be their downfall. This particular group had been shut down and thwarted from three lucrative contracts by Nula and Shusca and as such, they wanted revenge. While Jedi are quite powerful and strong, even they can find the odds so overwhelming that they fall and on this particular day, Shusca became one with the Force.

Nula survived, albeit with terrible wounds to both soul and body.

Recuperation took months, but eventually, the Jedi Knight was considered hail and hearty once more. While she could have taken another Padawan and was urged to do just that, she didn't. Instead she left the Temple and went to the Outer Rims; a place that truly needed help of the Jedi kind, but also a place that she could lose herself within. And even though she knew she was running in some manner, she still justified it to herself by always being available to the Jedi when needed. She became a wanderer and while others may have been lost Nula due to this lifestyle, Nula was not. Slowly with every person she helped, she started to again find that spark of what it meant to be a Jedi.

Several years have once again passed and now Nula feels the call to come home - to once again immerse herself more fully in the Jedi and their Mission.

PERSONALITY
[fancybox2] There are three sides to Nula.

The teacher, the Jedi Knight and Nula herself.

The teacher is the face that most people often see. Open, honest and friendly. She is there to help a student learn and she'll make sure that some type of lesson is learned; even when failure occurs. No question is stupid and knowledge, in her opinion, is a person's best defense and offense. Learning is the way to understanding.

The Jedi Knight is something more along the lines of what most people probably think of when they think of a Jedi. There's a core of calmness and seriousness about her. She assesses everything about her, looking for the non-violent way to resolve the problem at hand. Should she need to resort to violence to restore the peace then, so be it, she will.

Nula herself. This is a combination of the teacher and the Knight and finally the woman herself. Everyone has a bit of darkness within them and Nula is no different. Before her Padawan that darkness was a degree of self-doubt; in herself, in her ability to teach and her ability to protect those in need. Mid-way through her and her Padawan's journey, that self-doubt morphed into confidence until finally it became a touch of ego when all seemed to go right (within reason). After her Padawan's death, that ego diminished and turned back towards self-doubt, guilt and anger, as well. A core element of her own trust in herself was broken for quite some time; which caused her to eschew the majority of contact with any other Jedi.

While she's finding balance once more, thanks to the solitude of the Outer Rims, as well as immersing herself in helping those in need, there's still work to be done to finally put that broken trust and guilt to bed. Overtly, this guilt, broken trust and self-doubt is usually hidden away, locked behind the teacher facade that most everyone is shown. Occasionally one will see glimpses, but only those she considers true friends and allies might see this.

While the above describes this particular Jedi there are other parts to Nula. She has a sense of humor (sometimes sarcastically so), she holds loyalty very near and dear to her heart and duty, is one of her driving factors in life.

SKILLS
[fancybox2] Horticulture: Nula learned the plants and their various properties of her planet at a young age. She's kept up this knowledge and acquired more and while she doesn't necessary know every plant upon every planet, she does know the major plants that are useful. This knowledge can be used for both healing and also for eating, as many of the plants can be used in meals and as teas. Along with her knowledge of plants and their properties, Nula is also adept at growing plants, as well. Those plants that require a more delicate plant can be attempted by Nula, but she may find her results are less than expected, simply because she doesn't grow the exotics as often as the more mundane plants. Within her ship she has a small portion of space dedicated to a miniature greenhouse, to grow said plants. It can house half a dozen plants at the most.

Non-Force Healing Knowledge: While Nula relies heavily upon her healing powers of the Force, she also realizes that there might be times where she might not be able to use her powers to heal. As such, she's learned some of the skill-set of a non-Force healer. While she doesn't have the skills and knowledge of say a surgeon or a medical droid, she is capable of treating people at the level of a field medic. Some of the skills she's able to do are - set bones, staunch bleeding, suture wounds closed and apply tourniquets if need be.

Pilot: Nula is neither the worst or the best pilot within the Jedi fleet. She's adequate with both regular and combat flying and relies heavily upon the Force to help navigate the more combat orientated missions.

Teaching: Teaching is one part skill and one part empathy, or so feels Nula. While in the beginning her skill with passing on knowledge was shaky, she now has enough years under her belt that her skill is quite adept with passing knowledge on to people. She also has a keen eye when it comes to figuring out how to pass said knowledge on to a person. Some people are visual learners, while others are more do-ers. While she can't say she can always figure people out a 100% of the time, she has a good enough track record that she'd be able to help people 80% of the time. As long as they wanted the help. Stubbornness and apathy will always be a teacher's greatest enemy.

Unarmed Combat: While Nula likes to rely heavily upon her lightsaber for any sort of combat situation, that doesn't mean she can't defend herself when unarmed. Her style of unarmed combat is a combination of brawling and Force stunts. So, while she may throw a powerful right hook at a person, she could also follow it up with a TK shove, or a TK throw.

Lightsaber Combat: Like nearly every student out there, Nula was originally taught the standard Shii Cho form (Form I) for lightsaber combat. She eventually went on to learn the Makashi form (Form II) as well and now uses a combination of Form I and II when she finds herself in battle. While her gifts align more with healing and creating (versus possibly damaging or destroying) Nula is slightly above average with your typical Jedi Knight. Even with her expertise in both of these forms there will always be situations and enemies that are above her skill level, when that happens, there's a good chance that she'll be defeated, or worse.

Force Healing: Force Healing is where Nula truly focused her training on. She found she had an aptitude for sensing the issue at hand and healing that issue. Typically, she can heal both herself and others, as well as non-sentient animals. Healing time varies depending on the wound or illness of the person. For light wounds, such as shallow cuts, or bruises, or simple bumps, healing time could be a matter of minutes, perhaps a half an hour at the most. The healing energy expended for these particular wounds is negligible, but should she heal one person after another even these small wounds would add up after a day. Minor wounds, such as cuts that are close to requiring stitches, or simple broken bones, or deep bruises can possibly take three-four hours, versus thirty minutes. The energy expended from this healing is far more than a simple wound. Typically she could heal a half a dozen people with these types of wounds, before she found herself at her limit. For major wounds, such as compound fractures, internal bleeding or severe concussions, Nula would possibly find herself healing for the majority of the day - 6-8 hours at the very least. She could possibly heal one to two people in the same day with these types of injuries, before she would have to rest and recharge. Death injuries - these are injuries so severe that without some type of extreme first-aid, a person would die. When Nula takes on these particular cases to heal, there's a good chance that she could die herself, simply because of the amount of energy she must burn through to bring them back from the brink. While this doesn't stop her from healing those grievous injuries, that thought is always there in the back of her mind. For these death injuries, Nula will always go into a Force Trance, to help keep herself and her patient alive. After healing death injuries, Nula would need days, possibly a week to recoup, before she could attempt to heal anything more than a minor injury.

Force Trance: While others may use the Trance to augment their battle stances, or senses, Nula uses this particular ability to help her heal. When a wound is so grievance that it requires all of Nula's skill, focus and energy, she will fall into a Force Trance, to help aid her ability to heal. When she's within her Force Trance, she can potentially heal wounds at a faster rate, as well as possibly save people who were on the brink of death. When she decides to invoke this particular trance, the decision isn't made lightly, as she too could injure herself from the amount of energy she uses. Also, there are times when she will use the trance to try and figure out what's causing a person to become ill. This is usually in the case of someone being poisoned, or some disease that has yet to be seen within the Core Worlds. The Force Trance allows her to focus on all of the person's systems so she can see what's caused them to become unbalanced.

Telekinesis: Nula has the ability to move objects with her mind. This could be causing her lightsaber to come to her hand, or moving small objects away from her, or even pushing/shoving an object or person from around her. Typically, her TK is used in focused blasts, versus non, but if she needs a good distraction she'll send out a wave of TK versus a focused blast. Her ability with this skill is average and the max weight she can typically move with her mind is someone of her size, height and weight. In extreme circumstances she could possibly push/move something heavier than herself, but it would definitely be a one-shot sort of deal. Afterwards, she'd likely find herself falling unconscious, thanks to over-extending her powers.

Languages: Fluent in Basic. Partially fluent (spoken only) in Huttese and Rodian.

GEAR
[fancybox2] Lightsaber: Blue Kyber crystal, silver etched hilt.
Datapad
Basic Survival Gear Kit:

Simple Medkit
Fire-starter
Small vibro-blade
Food rations for two people for a day.

SHIP
[fancybox2]
Nula has one of the smaller ships that Jedi typically use while off planet. Her ship is the Antarian Starfighter.

This particular ship has a limited amount of cargo space, as well as a limited amount of weaponry. Typically Nula can house about a weeks worth of food within her ship, before she has to resupply. While Nula could sleep in her starfighter, it would be a bit cramped, and as such when she's looking to bed down at night, she will find a hospitable planet that she can make camp upon.
