”Go easy on her, she’s a girl!”

“This is combat training! I don’t care if she’s a pretty girl!”

”I’m a boy.”

“EH?!”

The blond Jedi could only let out a rather mischievous giggle at the sight of the newer younglings staring at him with wide eyes, completely taken aback at the sudden revelation. Since his earlier days on the temple on Yavin IV, Evergreen had been the recipient of confused and surprised stares. Though the questions about his taste in fashion and how he dressed himself irked him when he was much younger and he often got into fights about it, the boy now found it rather amusing to see and hear other people’s surprise at the revelation that he was, indeed, a boy, thank you very much - and a pretty one, too!

While the older younglings went on to brief the new ones about their fellow learner’s choice of clothing, Evergreen picked up the training saber that had been knocked from his grip then bid the group goodbye. He had been assigned to one-on-one self-defense and combat training today, and he really didn’t want to keep his teacher for the day waiting. The heels of his shoes clacked loudly against the floor, blue eyes drinking in the sights and the halls of the Jedi temple on Sernpidal with wide-eyed wonder.

He had ditched the standard robes for today, instead opting to wear something his mother made for him: a black collared white shirt with black trim on the sleeves, black shorts, thigh-high black socks, and synthleather white and gold shoes. His long hair was tied by a red ribbon on a low ponytail.

His thoughts drifted to the person he would be meeting today. Jedi Master Hera Albion was a person Evergreen hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, and he heard from the grapevine that the woman was a newly minted Master. A Knight reaching Master rank… maybe she was cool and strong, toppling Sith and other bad guys left and right. Maybe she was the serious type who wouldn’t care if Evergreen was just a youngling and who would go all out against a kid? The last thought gave the blond a pause for thought. No, it’s bad to assume negative things about people he hadn’t even met yet. And besides, Master Albion was a Jedi - that meant she was a good person, right? Right?

Resuming his walk, Evergreen settled for the “cool and strong lady” he had initially assumed of the Jedi Master, blotting out the negative ones. He hadn’t even met her yet and he already thought bad stuff about her! It made him feel awful, and decided that an apology was in order.
Evergreen hurried into the training area, and immediately bumped into someone tall along the way. A muffled “oomphf!” squeaked its way past the youngling’s lips, falling backwards and on his butt at the impact. He sat on his long hair in the process and elicited a pained yelp, the red ribbon coming undone. His strawberry blond tresses fell to his shoulders. Blue eyes slightly watering in pain, the boy looked up at the red-haired woman he had bumped into, apology painted on his face.

”I’m so sorry!” offered the youngling sincerely, unaware that he had just met the Jedi he had been thinking about. Evergreen fumbled for his fallen ribbon and, for the second time today, his training sword. Picking himself up, the young boy patted away the dirt on his clothing before gazing up at the Jedi. "It's my fault; I wasn't looking. I apologize!"
