On the Path of Light (Gottchol's Training)

It was an odd world to Gottchol. With flying metal crafts and buttons which made undiscernible sounds, it was truly far off from what he had known back in Endor. But still, he'd grown used to it over his years as an initiate, though never did he grow complacent of it.

No, never complacent, always intrigued like any Ewok naturally was. Sometimes, it made it hard to study, considering all the wonders that surrounded him. It took every ounce of his meditation skills to contain it.

But now, he had a Master. He knew that with this new Master, he'd be going places, doing things, visiting worlds beyond his imagination. It was just too much for the little one.

And so he sat, bridling with energy in the Coruscanti temple's Main Hall fiddling with his tooth-necklace as he sat. The air grew hot around him in anticipation, he wished he could take off the Jedi robes he wore, but regardless of the fact he could be legally without clothes, much like a Wookiee, he didn't want a repeat of yesterday, when he surprised many of his fellow students by taking them off, which got him a hard scolding.

So he waited and watched.

With him being the only Ewok she knew of in the whole temple, the Jedi Knight found it still rather difficult to find the guy amongst the crowds the shuffled throughout the temple. She would have to make sure she picked up on his Force signature right away to avoid future situations where she might need to find him once more.

She was highly curious about Gottchol, there was much research on the Ewoks, but to actually interact with one will be quite entirely different. She paused in the hall and felt out with the Force, looking among the auras that floated by, then the Force guided her gaze to the animated teddy bear on the bench.

The knight approached and took a seat next to him, "Iams notting even guess, sures ams I you ising Gottchol." she told him, "I willing be your Master: Rehni Tak'n. I willing to guide you ons the path to becoming a Jedi Knight, you still accepting?" she asked him and as she did, imprinted his force signature in her mind.

He had been keeping a watchful eye. Just as if he were on a hunt back in Endor, he watched for his Master carefully. He saw her coming from the crowds, the searching gaze, the purposefulness in her steps, he could tell the woman was most likely his Master, so he got comfortable as she approached, waiting expectantly.

What he did not expect was her forwardness. Ewoks could be easily spooked, as which it was natural for Ewoks to move cautiously and without sudden movements. As such he made a small grumbling noise as she sat down and started speaking.

It was amusing, however. His small scare dissapated instantly as he realized a most comical fact: He spoke better Basic. Yes, his wasn`t great, but still. However he had the good mind not to display any of that.

He kept a serious face as he looked up at her, Greetings to you then, Master Rehni. You are much correct, I am Gottchol. I am ready to learn."

"Goods," she nodded, "Why ising you wanting to become a Knight, Gottchol?" she asked him, "What ising you hoping to accomplish with your training?"

It was a compelling question. One he knew the answer to, but still made him wonder for a moment. He stopped his fiddling and turned back to her, no longer as amused by her odd speach as he had been and therefore needn`t hide the coming emotions. "Why I wish to come to Knighthood? So that I may know more of the Force and do good. Seen many things that are evil in this world. Change must be brought, or nothing happens."

He thought it was an excellent answer himself. He grinned slightly and rocked back and forth slightly, grabbing his feet.

Rehni listened to his response, she said nothing, but it was what she wanted to hear. "And withing our tenants and codes you believing you canning accomplishing this task?" she asked the Ewok watching rock back and forth then returning her attention back to the crowds of people that came and went throughout the temple.

He stopped rocking back and forth, releasing his feet and turning to see what she was looking at, slightly confused, before turning back to her. "I do." He said this somewhat proudly and confidently. He believed the Jedi beliefs infallible, how could they stop him from ending injustice?

 

[GABA]

"Goods, letting us go somewhere's less distracting." she told her padawan, rising from her seat and heading towards the less crowded halls of the training rooms. She lead him into a large room and took a seat in the middle and suggested that Gottchol did the same, "Letting us starting with the basics." she laid out a credit chip between them, "Force pushing, Force pulling," the chip moved back and forth between them, "Concentrate and listen to the Force, don't try to control it, let it move through your body and move the credit chip." she instructed.

Having the Force flow through you, that was the basic skill of the Jedi which derived all other abilities. His years as an initiate had taught him that much. But to move other objects? That was a whole different story.

"A most difficult task, Master..." He sat down, crossing his stubby legs as best as he could, narrowing his eyes on the chip. He began applying his knowledge of Force Push that he had gotten from holos. He began to channel the Force, focusing on the chip and just trying to move it. He continued to stare at it, still trying to channel the Force and toss the chip.

It eventually succeeded when he flipped the credit onto its opposite side. He wiped his furry brow afterwards. He then flipped it back a few moments afterwards, smiling and rocking back, obviously impressed with himself.

Rehni sat patiently as her padawan worked on his skills, she listened to the Force around him, "It ising a mosting basic, but importants skills to knowing." she replied to him. Her own eyes studied the chip as Gottchol made it flip, once again, and again.

"Goods, relaxing padawan Gottchol, it seeming easier when you ising notting tense. Try agains, push it to me and moving its backing to you." she instructed.

He took heed to his Masters words, and dutifly calmed his mind once more. He had indeed let the stress of his attempts get to him, and he couldn' let it continue, lest it manifest to frustration.

And so after stopped his rocking and regained control, he started to move it once more. This time, he flipped it twice more towards her, but as he began pulling it back, it began to hover slightly, coming to rest back at his feet. He smiled up at his Master happily and spoke, "How was this?" He gestured to the credit, obviously just as content with flipping chips as making them hover.

She watched Gottchol continue to practice, she didn't say a word until he did so to not break his concentration. She nodded, pleased, as he made the credit chip hoover. "You catching ons very wells." she told him, "Canning you making it orbit arounding us?" she asked him.

Gottchol smiled when Rehni complimented him. It felt good to begin doing this. It was new, and he knew it was only the beginning of a long list of things to do.

He cleared his mind once more of these thoughts, and brought the chip over. Slowly, with minor hiccups along the way, he began to force the the chip to orbit them in a oval pathway. It was hard, the chip would shake, dip, then rise too high when he attempted to correct, but it still orbited. He knew it was something.

He rested the chip infront of Rehni at the end of the second orbit, and gave a winded exhalation. He looked at his Master expectantly, waiting for the next thing. "I did well?"

Rehni watched the chip float around the two of them, "Goods, force pushing, force pulling canning be used as a weapon too." She stood up and waited for her padawan to do the same too, "Pushing enemies back, or's pulling them foreward. But you canning protect yourself ining using tutaminis, absorbing the force and disappatings throughs your-ing body." she explained, "Throwing a force pulling at me's." she told him.

Yes... A weapon. The Force could be used as such. Gottchol did not like this thought. The Force should be a tool for peace, shouldn't it? Though there were less compliant beings in the Force. A brief remembrance of the Hutts quelled such overly-pacifistic thoughts.

"Force Pull on you, Master? Hard that would be..." he spoke somewhat unconfidently. He doubted he could move her an inch, but he had to try. So he did. After concentrating on her, he attempted to jerk her forward to him. It was a weak pull, and might not even force to do much but a slight pivot.

OOC: I thought I fixed that, it was supposed to be force push...well lets see how Gottchol will do :]

Rehni stood in her spot, motionless, "Hard? Then you musting practice. Making me stumble." the Knight challenged him making sure he could move her off her feet before showing tutaminis.

Practice. Practice makes perfect, as they say. He grunted slightly, a bit annoyed. Again he forced himself to control himself, calm himself before resuming. "You are much much correct, Master. As they say, practice makes perfect."

He then let the Force flow through him once more, readying himself to resume pulling. He began to simply do it hypotheticly, going through the motions of pulling. Then a thought came to him, to force Rehni to display Tutamis. He went for a weak pull, while a moment after, sent his strongest push he could muster at her. Hopefully, while both attacks were relatively weak, the unexpectedness of it might set her off enough to force her hand.

Rehni stood, waiting patiently for the Ewok to pull on her, she felt a slight disturbance in the air around her but thought nothing of it, she could tell it was difficult for her student, but the more she had him practice, the more powerful he will become.

Then her thoughts came to an abrupt stop, the Force alerted her, her eyes widened as she threw out her hands to catch the push using tutaminis, absorbing most of the push, but it slid her back a foot.

"That wasing fantastics!" she said happily, letting the energy dissipate through her body, "Doing that push agains." she told him.

Success tasted sweet on Gottchol's tongue. His plan had worked, and worked. He watched Rehni closely when she preformed Tutaminis, and even felt the move somewhat, his awareness having taken a large step since he had begun using the Force.

"Yes yes, Master!" he spoke a little louder then he wanted. He was excited. Gottchol readied himself, channeling the Force and summoning the Force Push once more. After he was ready, he sent the Push outward at her, as strong as before.

Rehni stood ready this time feeling for her padawan's force push, she felt a change in the force and absorbed the force push that Gottchol sent to her. She let it once more dissipate through her body and stood straight, "Goods, now I's wanting you to trying Tutaminis." she explained.
