While it was a wondrous, sunny day outside, there were still some that preferred the indoors. Especially when there was so much to do and catch up on.

The medbay had been a hotbed of activity, to pardon the pun. There was no shortage of activity now that the conflict had seemed to renew itself. Her own opinions about everything were kept as a somewhat guarded secret. Those that knew anything about her, however, would know well that this was not where she expected her life to go. She remembered those days of peace and longed to return. Youthful naivete was all it was all it was, of course, but that still couldn't shake the desire within her.

In the dimmed library on Dantooine a Caamasi sat by herself. There were few others around, but they mostly kept to themselves for the time being. Indeed, such a place elicited more solo activities. More so, it was a place that seemed to draw such people - to get away and access the depths of ones mind without interruption.

For Releqy, though, it was a place to record and research. She had discovered a new compound that might have properties to alleviate soreness in joints, but it needed more testing and trials. Otherwise, she caught up with her previous research, continued writing papers for them and researching them further.

Despite the rather menial nature of the tasks she set for herself, her demeanor suggested she was rather involved in whatever it was she was doing. Her eyes darted back and forth from her datapad to a tome to another datapad and to yet a third where she seemed to enter information. Her hands worked diligently and as though they had done this a thousand times before. She had a system, that much was clear, and it worked well for her.

While the Library was largely silent, save for the like typing and tapping of those around her, there was still a breath in this place. The Force flowed through, as it did throughout all of Dantooine, as a soft breeze or beating heart; perhaps both. To those that spent the time to look for such a thing, around each of the Jedi there the threads would swirl as their minds moved faster than any Jedi wielding a lightsaber.

Kaylara sighed as she turned the page of an ancient manuscript. It wasn't a sigh of discontent, however, rather the opposite was the case. The blonde Jedi always enjoyed getting to spend time in the archives and libraries, and this was made even sweeter by the fact that she had only been on Dantooine a few times to take advantage of the wide collection. Some of her colleagues enjoyed gallivanting across the galaxy, and being in the front lines in the war with the Sith, yet as Kara continued to read, she, herself, felt quite content.

It wasn't the case that she didn't enjoy combat and the more physical side of being a Jedi, but when faced with the opportunity to learn more and gain in wisdom, she just couldn't pass up the opportunity. A Jedi's life, among other things, was about balance, and Kara included in this balancing wisdom and strength. Finishing the chapter on Dantoonian history from a few centuries ago, the Jedi looked up and gazed around the room for a few moments.

There weren't too many others present, likely due to the warm sunny weather outdoors, and Kara could imagined that those who were in the library probably felt very similar to her and her sentiments on learning and wisdom. Closest by was a Caamasi woman who seemed to be doing research on healing of some sort. Kara caught her glance for a few moments and offered a small smile in greeting, before returning to her manuscript.

When Releqy decided to take a brief respite from her research and look up at the room around her, she noticed another do much the same. Their eyes met and while Releqy resisted the urge to smile, though her heart sang for it, her eyes did indeed light up and the shifting of her weight in her chair suggested that she felt the same. Still, her sharp teeth did make an appearance, but at the distance the two were front one another it was unlikely the human female would even be able to discern much of this.

Even so, when the eye contact was broken, Releqy looked around at some of the others. Mostly humans, of course, but some other aliens like herself. Such had become her normal and she thought very little of being in a minority. Indeed, she truly considered all Jedi to be one, and so such distinctions carried no weight and were actually detrimental to the Order itself, and the Army in turn. Indeed, the Army had to be even more cohesive in many ways in order to stand against the onslaught.

These thoughts flowed through her mind in a matter of moments. As it turned out, no one would even notice she had such a discussion in her own head even when she finally looked down to take stock of where she was with her work. A few quick moments of consideration saw her start to clean up. The tome was closed and picked up carefully to be returned to the curator, and the loaned datapads would find themselves on the Librarian's desk. Releqy nodded and thanked them both for their help.

As she started to leave, her gaze again fell upon the young woman for a few moments. Something swelled within her and she committed her feet to bring her towards the blonde-headed female. "Hello," she started in her rather unique voice. Somewhat deep and rather raspy, she sounded much older than she was. Humans, of course, would have a difficult time placing an age on a Caamasi in the first place, but her demeanor and voice didn't quite match up. A youthful spirit or an old soul - it was difficult to determine. Her near contralto voice, however, matched with her scent quite strongly. In essence, she was autumn. While it wasn't overpowering, it was distinct and unmistakable.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt. I was just hoping to ask you a question." Her kindness, while not showed through twisting her mouth into a smile, shone bright through her eyes and within her voice. Indeed, it seemed that she emanated joy from her very being. She was quite genuine in this as well, at least as far as anyone else could tell.

Kara read a few more paragraphs on the old pages in front of her, before noticing a presence approaching, and causing her to look up. The Caamasi, whom she had greeted earlier, stood by and offered a short "Hello" for a greeting. Kara nodded and smiled somewhat, offering her own "Hello." Pondering only for a moment why she was near to her, the Jedi's question was answered by Releqy's follow up question.

"Oh, no problem" she replied. "How can I help you?" was the short addition. The Jedi was a little curious as to the nature of what her colleague would be asking of her. At best she could tell, the Caamasi seemed to be a little older than herself, and Kara got the impression that Releqy had been in the library before, as well as Dantooine. These two lines of thought eliminated just a few of the question possibilities in her mind.

The woman's openness and kindness towards a stranger caused Releqy to become even warmer and friendly; if that were even possible at this point. She smiled for a moment, bearing her sharp, albeit small, white teeth. They weren't visible for long, a forced practice it would seem. She knew her physicality could be unusual, or even uncomfortable, for some despite her intentions.

"I'm sorry," she apologized again. "I have... an unusual request," she admitted. Still in good spirits, she worked on the point of her interruption. "I wanted to know - do you have any sort of joint pain or discomfort at times? Perhaps now?" She seemed to hope that she was, indeed, sore at this current moment.

While she was rather self-aware that her questions was, as she already said, unusual, it was clear that this wasn't much of an issue for her and she was adamant to know the answer. More than this, what seemed to bleed through was her desire for her question to be answered in the affirmative. To any typical person, this would be an extremely odd line of questioning. Still, the Caamasi didn't seemed deterred by this.

Kara looked quizzically at her counterpart as she posed the question. "I, uh, well" she began before pausing for a moment, trying to fill the small moment of time while her mind began to comprehend the strange and somewhat unexpected question. A quick flash back of her memory to her previous exertions on the planet Argazda and her 'interactions' with the Sith, yielded a quick glance at her own arm.

"Well, it's nothing major" Kara began in responding, "but my arm is a little sore," she added, holding it up. The Jedi looked back up at her Camaasi colleague and pondered, "why do you ask?" curiously. Her question had not sort of negative intent behind it, and she was merely trying to determine the reasoning behind the odd query.

The excitement displayed both visually through her physical reaction and with in the Force as it seemed to lighten and twist sudden when she smiled deeply, reveal her sharp, albeit small, white teeth. The expression lasted for a few moments before her lips folded back over her gums and teeth when she finally contained herself. The expression might be a little surprising to those humans who weren't well acquainted with the other species of the galaxy. Releqy would normally hope that she was not off-putting, but her inquisitive and studious mind had taken over and her new friend was a perfect candidate for trying out the new salve she'd been working on developing.

"I was wondering if you might have some time to try something I've been working on to alleviate pain and improve flexibility." Her excitement was still clear, but not quite as palpable at this point. She knew she was interrupting and would understand if her new friend didn't have the time and was busy working on other things.

It was then, before Kara had a chance to answer, that Releqy realized her friend didn't even know her name. This was simply unacceptable. "I'm sorry. I'm Releqy. It's wonderful to meet you." She paused for another moment, again not long enough for Kara to truly respond. "If you're busy, I understand. I know this is sudden. But I hope you'll look for me in the medbay when you can." Now she finally waited for the blonde headed girl to reply.

"Oh, umm, well" Kara began, before once again pausing for a few moments. She was having difficulty reading the her counterparts facial expressions, as it was so different from that of a humans. Nevertheless, Kara could feel her connection to the force and the positivity that surrounded her. She was about to continue her reply before the Camaasi offered another quick apology and then gave her name.

Upon feeling Releqy had finished her comments, Kara took the opportunity to reply. "No need to apologize," she smiled. "I'm Kaylara Dornelles, pleasure to meet you as well." Looking down at her arm once more, Kara continued, "What did you have in mind?"

"Kaylara; a beautiful name." While many would say this out of a societal need to be overly kind to those they just meet, Kaylara might be able to tell that Releqy truly believed this, thinking her name was quite nice.

"Well, I've been keeping all my work in the medbay. Would you be able to join me there right now?" There was yet another pause as she thought about how her own request might sound to someone who was in the middle of something important. "If not, that is not a problem of course. Again, I don't mean to interrupt." With the last line, she motioned to her book again while at the same time wondering if she's being too accommodating and understanding. That fine line had always been a rough area for her to get down with humans.

Kara looked around the library for a second, almost expectantly. Of what, she wasn't quite sure. Meeting colleagues that were eccentric was not an uncommon experience for the blonde Jedi. However, the more she thought about it, she realized how each of the Jedi all had their own ways of following the Force. While the Force all flowed through them, and they all strived toward the path of light, their methods and personalities varied. Its what helped make the Jedi so unique, welcoming, and to a certain extent, powerful.

Looking back up at the Camaasi, Kara nodded, "Uh, sure why not?" It wasn't like her to accept hasty and unexpected requests, however the positive power of the force coming of Releqy made it too tough for her to say no. Besides, she thought internally, what was the worst that could happen? Kara folded up her manuscript and stood up, pushing the chair back in under the table. "After you" she smiled, gesturing towards the library exit.
