Ord Mantell is an industrial planet, with its massive junkyards and factories recycling that junk and turning it into useful tools, ships, and other armaments. Taking this planet would help keep the cogs of the imperial war machine well and truly greased. This planet, however, had a government that is stubborn, as well as greedy, and to top it off corrupt. These traits tend to made them choose a side they feel safe with, the job was to make them feel safe with the empire.

Sarla Malvern had a plan but needed to discuss it with her fellow members, of expeditionary force first. She was on a ship inbound to Ord Mantell, with a few people. Their job was to convince the people in charge to trust the empire or be scared of the wrath of the empire. They had to make them submit, one way or another, they the empire were getting their mits on this planets industrial complex. The main people on Shuttle was a podgy old man, going by the name of @Robert Abbotangelo, who combat years must be passed him by now. The other was about the same age as her, looking forward to the future of the Sith Empire, hoping to create its glory days. His name was @Kyorus Draxx, a fellow acolyte.

She approached them before the ship came out of hyperspace, and gave them her idea. Destroying the facilities is one option, one that is needless destructive of the resources we need. As we are at war with the Mandalorians, and at this time they are winning. This was not a fact she liked, but a fact nonetheless. I have a plan, rather than destroy these yards, we force them to heel. She paused for the effect and took a breath, and then continued We go and find out where their loved ones live, and we give them a map of it all there homes and schools, and a piece of paper. That piece of paper, says they will make ships exclusively for the empire. The plan was simple, sign or people you love die. She waited for them, to give feedback, or another plan. As soon as they would come hyperspace, they needed to start.

Ord Mantell was smelly. Most people don't talk about how smelly Ord Mantell was. The whole planet was effectively a big ol' junkyard filled with rusty machines, miscellaneous oils, and never to be found hidden dead bodies. Bob didn't like it. He was never a big fan of smelling things, which must have contributed to wine being his least favorite drink to drink.

Today, much like any other day, he was assigned to the conquest of a new world. Alongside two other Sith, Bob sat happily awaiting for them to arrive at the junk world. He didn't like Sith on principle, he thought they were too uppity with themselves, all high and might, swaggering around as if the force gave them some credibility beyond that of the average man. So what if you were a super powerful wizard jerk, doesn't matter squat if you can't command respect without fear.

As the female Sith Sarla laid out her plan, Bob wasn't as taken aback as he thought he would have been. Maybe he was just getting used to the Sith and their antics. "Mayhaps, we use that as a fallback plan. Methinks we should acquire this information yes, but only deploy it should the local yokels prove uncooperative. I see no reason we should go in and start threatening them right off the bat, instead we should at least attempt to negotiate before we threaten to murder their children. What is it they say? Speak softly and carry a big stick?" Bob finished, speaking with a bit of a disgruntled timbre before taking a swig from his flask.

He wasn't above committing what others would consider atrocities, he just didn't want too. And besides, folks usually do better work when they want to work for you than if they are forced too. "Besides, if we force these people to work and build ships for us, whats to stop them from placing bombs on the ships and killing Imperial leadership at an opportune time in revenge?"

The faint scent of smoke and the sound of the far off industrial pistons rubbing and cracking as they moved against each other would be enough to drive Kyorus mad. He was new to the Sith Empire, a lowly acolyte and was set on making making his worth evident. This mission seemed to be the key to his ascension within the ranks but time would tell. He had noticed the other sith acolyte but didn't think much off her, not yet atleast. He was instead fixated on their third partner, if he hadn't known that he was an imperial agent he may have thought that he was only an old scoundrel simply eavesdropping. Of course his demeanour and appearance may just be a facade he dawns so his enemies never see him coming. If this was the case he was impressed.

They both caught him up to speed on their seperate plans. "I think that we should approach this diplomatically first, our words alone may be good enough to convince them, but if we go in there killing and then asking questions, we put ourselves at risk of a violent uproar which we may not be able to handle ourselves, I suggest we first try to let our words do the talking and if that doesn't pan out in a favourable direction, we remind them that we do not take no for an answer." He was all for taking Ord Mantell with a iron fist, but he believed that would cause more destruction than needed, after all they wanted the resources from this planet and having it in state of absolute ruin benefits no one, even if it would quench his bloodlust.

With a calm demeanour and a somewhat positive attitude, Kyorus believed without any conflict, they could secure this planet, after all they must know who we are and to deny us would be courting death. "If we come to a reasonable and diplomatic agreement perhaps this may go smoother than I first believed." He thought. "So I believe we now need to decide on our next plan of action and get ready, agreed?" Kyorus said. However he didn't feel it would go as smooth as it had been laid out. Banishing the thought from his mind he focused again on his partners and waited for their answer.

She listened to others, and their idea did make more sense. She then refined her idea with what was said and then asked We talk to the leaders, and have some of the others locate people of interest to them. Now if they refuse to meet terms, we then threaten them. Though I do suggest we then add some loyal operatives to the industrial process, to stop them planting bombs on our new ships. That's if we do use threat, but it might be prudent to do it anyway. Then the ship came out of hyperspace and began making its way to the planet surface. The next thing they need was to at least, start working on where his family lived. As no point having a precautionary plan if it could not be used at the necessary moment.

She was not worried about not being able to handle themselves, she learned a lot recently. She was willing to fight it out if need be, though initially, it would be a retreat, and then they would come back in bigger numbers. Soon the ship will land, and then they meet the industrialists and see if they could be persuaded, to see the empires way off things.

"Job done then!" Bob exclaimed happily, clapping his hands and rubbing them together in satisfaction. They exited hyperspace and they got a good overview of the planet. It actually wasn't as junky as Bob was expecting, and he was pleasantly surprised at this revelation and good fortune. They still had to go down there and force compliance though, boo on that.

They landed in what passed as the capital city, and the group quickly made their way to one of the largest buildings in the city to meet with the wealthy jerks who ran thing in the parts. They were greeted by a particularly bored secretary chewing some form of bubble-gum like a tart as she glanced up at the Imperial group before back to her nails. "Have a seat over there please." She said with a utterly uninterested drawl. Bob, saw no problem with this predicament and contented himself with waiting on one of the few chairs in the meager waiting room, more than willing to let his more violently inclined fellows take care of getting them into where they need to be.

They had only been on the planet a short time until they came across the building they had been searching for when they were more or less ordered to take a seat. This disrespect any other day would've sent Kyorus into a rage, but he knew that this mission needed to go smoothly and executing a random secretary was far from smooth. He sat down beside the imperial agent, Kyorus still questioned his exact abilities but knew better than to pry. He turned to the imperial agent and said "I noticed that the secretary isn't exactly the most vigilant person, perhaps we could simply sneak past?"

While he waited for his response, his eyes scanned the room, the building seemed to be incredibly dull, which surprised Kyorus, from what he had gathered they were on there way to meet some of the most powerful people residing on Ord Mantell. The building didn't seem to represent this. "Perhaps there was more to it that meets the eye?" Kyorus thought. However something felt off and Kyorus knew that sooner or later he would find out if he was right or just paranoid. For now, he sat and waited for his audience with the higher class of Ord Mantell.

They came off the ship and headed to offices, of the owner of shipyards. Then they met a rather annoying secretary, who was chewing bubble gum. Now if that woman worked for her, she would have been fired, for that alone. She asked them to sit down, she did but not next to @Robert Abbotangelo, as he was fat old and overweight, which meant, he was probably predisposed to breaking wind, and generally smelling bad. As she sat down she picked up one woman's own magazines, to have a read of it. Then she noticed @Kyorus Draxx pacing a little, he did not like waiting, she did not blame him. She then turned to him and said, Be patient young acolyte, no point sneaking past people, as that will not help us when we meet the CEO. This would probably anger them and force plan B into the agenda. Though she did wonder, did the agent have people working on that. Though they may have to work on that after this meeting, she did think about asking him. Though after reading my diary section of the magazine, she did ask him "bob" Do you havê anyone working on the contingency plans if this should fall through? She looked up from the magazine as she asked him, she did not want to just begin working on plan b, if this meeting failed.

Bob silently chuckled when Sarla told her contemporary to be patient, not because he didn't think patience was required but because she called him young! They both looked the same age, and in comparison to Bob? They were both just babies. He kept giggling to himself until Sarla spoke to him directly, to which his eyes snapped up and he met her gaze with an easy grin.

"Of course my girl! I'm not some amateur you know! Been doing this for over forty years!" That was a bold faced lie, he had no one working on plan B. He did however, get to work on that right now, discretely tapping a datapad on the inside of his robes, sending messages to some of his buddies in intelligence to begin hacking the local networks and to get him the information they needed. He did all of this without looking at it, honest. Not once did he have to take out his reading glasses and gaze down at the tiny datapad in front of him tapping away like a doddering old fool. And if he did, it was to make it look like he was a doddering old fool. Honest.

Finally, after seemingly an eternity, the secretary got a call on her antiquated land line phone, after half of an eternity, she put it down and told the group to go inside. Go inside where was anybodies guess, but they were given free agency to roam around, so Bob took that opportunity to exercise his old bones. Eventually, they found the room they were looking for, and made their way inside, where a well groomed and slick looking man in a suit greeted them from across the room.

Kyorus was taken aback, he had been addressed by the acolyte working alongside him on the mission directly and even though her words were true they ripped through him like a dagger through the heart. After all she was right, he had been acting rather impatient and simply decided if there ever was a time to correct his behavior, it was now, right when they were on the cusp of gaining access to what lay behind the secretaries desk and that alone was incentive enough for Kyorus to be a little more patient. However to his surprise he didn't have to wait long until his questions were answered.

They were told to head inside by the secretary, Kyorus wouldn't miss her, thats for sure. As they made their way in, he noticed that the imperial agent seem to wander off in another direction. This didn't really concern Kyorus anymore as he had came to understand that nothing the old man did wasn't calculated beforehand, even though he didn't display it, it was evident that the agent with them was a master of cunning and they had yet too see him in action. "Maybe he has already made his move?" Kyorus thought. He had realized that while he was trying to unravel his partners secrets, the imperial agent had come into contact with what Kyorus would describe as, a weasel of a man. However something told him too hold his tongue and simply introduce himself. "Hello, I am Kyorus Draxx, I assume you have been preparing for us, seeing as it took you so long to let us past that ghastly woman you call a secretary." Kyorus studied the mans face, he seemed to be sweating however seemed to remain collected in the presence of his partners. This would play in their favor when it came to negotiations, the man obviously undertsood who he was talking to. The weasly man gestured to a well lit room, suggesting they go inside and take a seat. "Oh great more sitting." Kyorus thought. Maybe this time they would finally be talking to the man in charge.

She smiled when the agent said plan B was started, as this gave them a back up if things went south, in this meeting. Though if the backup plan was not ready than that would be his fault. She then carried on reading the magazine, she was reading the agony aunt section. This section was always good for a laugh, but not much else. Though it did feed into a lot of teenage anxiety, which when she was powerful enough she would try and end.

Then the secretary allowed them in to see her boss, she rose and put the magazine back down, though she did hope that Julie from Alderaan, did find love. Then @Kyorus Draxx opened his mouth, she thought well plan b it may be. She then smiled and said, My colleague meant, your secretary, does not represent your company very well. As she was chewing gum, whilst speaking to us. That was kinda gross, but that was his problem. She then pulled her seat out and made sure she sat on her dress. She then looked at the owner, We are interested in gaining exclusive rights to your shipyards for the sith empire. Now obviously, you will be well compensated for this, and as we are at war, your order books will be full. She wanted to be nice, but this was the velvet glove, as the agent was ready to threaten his entire family, and his pet dog with execution, if he said no.

Man did Bob hope his two Sith friends had some sort of a plan, because he was utterly at a loss. If it was drinking, friendly political discourse over a drink, or fighting over a drink, Bob was the man to go too. But subversion was never his forte, ironic considering he was working for Imperial intelligence, the most renowned intelligence agency in the galaxy. He was just never a very good liar, his face was too expressive for it.

Regardless, Bob took the offered seat after secretely giggling once again at Kyoruss and his droll disregard for social etiquette. Or maybe it was simply sarcasm that the man oozed from his words. Didn't matter, it made Bob amused and that's what counted.

The wealthy man introduced himself as one 'Jimp Jalulalu Verandalu Lulalalu.' A mouthful if Bob ever heard one. Who named their kid Jimp? Anyways, the man continued speaking as if after speaking his name anyone could focus on the business at hand. "Well the Sith Empire can place an order like everybody else, I'm not sure why a personal meeting between myself, the largest shareholder of most operations on this planet is necessary." Jimp said arrogantly, as if he wasn't speaking to two Sith and a decorated spy.

"Here's the thing," Bob said, cutting in before the more hotheaded Sith could speak. "We want the planet as well and word is you are the man to speak to about securing its allegiance. Now we are willing to offer great wealth to a man such as yourself for your assistance in this endeavor of course." Bob finished, letting the bribe sit there. He knew that this lone man wouldn't be enough to bring the planet to heel, but he would be enough to get it started. He was most likely the most influential man on the planet, as despite his odd name, he did hold stock in almost literally every business that conducted itself on the planet. Bob was honestly surprised they had the opportunity to meet with him, but he supposed that connections to government and conquest would do wondrous things for cutting through red tape.

Here he was, sitting in this surprisingly spacious office, listening to the normal diplomatic chatter. It almost felt like a bad dream. That is not too say that Kyorus wasn't all for the peaceful approach but from what the man opposite them was saying, it didn't sound like he quite understood why they were here. Kyorus thought about what he said. How could this pathetic specimen of a man sit here and insist that the Empire could place an order just like everyone. "How does this weakling have the audacity to sit here and treat the empire like another one of his lackeys." Kyorus thought.

He looked over at his partners. It seemed that the imperial agent was talking terms. Probably the best choice. Even Kyorus knew when he was out of his depth and this certainly wasn't in his expertise. Infact to his knowledge, sith in general aren't the best at peaceful transitions of power. Kyorus chuckled at that thought. The man and the imperial agent exchanged pleasantries and started to discuss why we were here. However Kyorus grew tired of dancing around the topic and felt like it may be his turn to speak, after all he could only benefit the situation as long as he kept a passive tone with the man. Kyorus cleared his throat, stood up and said. "If I may interject, I believe that what my friend here is trying to say is that, the sith empire isn't just another 'buyer'." The man's expression seemed to change but Kyorus thought nothing of it and continued to talk. "We provide a very special service to this galaxy and you must see how beneficial it is too have us on your side, but our favor doesn't come cheap, we demand sacrifice and that is why we are here, sacrifice."

Kyorus sat back down, satisfied with what he had contributed to the negotiations. Of course time would tell.

She sat back in her chair and thought Really, why? Her fellow sith was going off in a tangent, and she was unsure where he was going with this. Especially after the artful words of @Robert Abbotangelo, seemed to address everything. She made a note to herself, before going into a meeting again, agree on a common position. She wanted to undermine what @Kyorus Draxx said, and agree with @Robert Abbotangelo as he made much more sense to her. Though it was dangerous business, to undermine a fellow Sith. Especially in front of him, and in public. She decided to try and negate some of what he said, So let us be honest, the Sith Empire is taking this world. The sacrifice that my fellow sith mentioned, are those who oppose us taking over. This is not for people like you, who wish to help us. As the people who help the empire, are duly rewarded, those who are an obstacle to us, are crushed. They are in other words sacrificed, for the greater good. You can choose to help us, or not. This was a threat, and she had the means to carry it out. The agent hopefully could if need help, on this. She wanted to be reasonable, but if she heard anything other than he was cooperating, he would die now.

Sith, boy to the holy howdy could Bob complain about Sith for days on end. And he would, as it helped alleviate his numerous frustrations with the quasi-religious order of semi-monks who preached literal murder as a way of advancement. Some of them smelled. There, he said it. They had a stench of depression that seemed to radiate around them. They would describe it as the darkside, and Bob just wanted to say they should take a walk in the park once in a while.

He didn't disagree with Kyoruss entirely. The Empire was important and it did serve an important service in the galaxy. That being stability and mutual defense. Ord Mantell could wholly benefit from the Empire's protection, and business would most likely flourish as many sanctions against planets outside the Imperial borders would be lifted.

Regardless of Bobs personal thoughts on the matter, Jimp decided to speak up after Sarla finished her rumblings. Jimp seemed to consider the situation for a few moments, before a smile that could only be described as slimy split his already weaselly face. "Well that seems to be more in character with the Empire I know. I am a business man, you see. I am hearing a deal somewhere in these incoherent statements, so I want to cut through the bantha-poodoo and get right down to it. What do I get for throwing my hat in with the Empire? Because if I give the word, - And my word is followed around here - the rest of the people here will fall in line. But what do I get in return?"

Hell if Bob knew, he was just an Agent. This kind of thing was usually above his paygrade. His job was to make things and be sneaky, not be all diplomatic. Maybe they chose him for this stuff because of his cheery disposition. Bastards.

Kyorus had realized that they may leave here, empty handed. The weasel they'd been talking to had finally cut down to brass tax and wanted a straight answer from him and his partners. Kyorus didn't know what to think of this. "Was this just a stalling tactic?" Kyorus thought. However against his own judgement he decided that for once in his life, he would give someone the benefit of the doubt and play along.

Kyorus walked towards the huge table and pressed his hands down on the table. Kyorus was basically towering over the wretch of a man but he knew he had to play nice, just this once. "We are here to take what is and will be the empire's. However you are lucky, this could've ended many different ways but instead here we are, in your office, negotiating peacefully. In my opinion that sounds like the best case scenario for you. After all, you know what we usually do when we want something and it isn't given up willingly. After all I strongly believe that we are here for a reason and that it is part of mine and everyone in this rooms destiny. Part of that destiny is that the empire is given what they want, not just for your sake but for ours also. So I implore you to hand over this planet's assets and our newly fledged 'alliance' can thrive under the glorious banner of the empire."

Kyorus slinked back into the shadows, hoping his speech had either inspired the man or scared him. He looked at his partners, he hoped they would build on his points and bring the deal home. However if not, Kyorus didn't mind getting his hands dirty, after all the galaxy won't miss one weasel... right?

She listened to @Kyorus Draxx and @Robert Abbotangelo, she decides she would and would sweeten the deal. This would make it easier, for him to say yes. You don't lose by helping us. She started, then took a breath You gain, you gain a lot. She then took a sip of water, and then looked him in the eye. As her gaze met him, she then said I am Sarla Malvern, granddaughter of Count Thraen the leader of House Malvern. This was so he knew, she was not just some figure in the margins of this noble house. Now if join our side today, and now. Not only will your order books be permanently full, but I will also authorize an investment package into your company. This will allow you to expand, and take advantage of those companies, that refuse to ally with us. Also will insulate you from any supply disruptions. She took another sip of water, probably a mistake, as she will need the loo soon. Now you have two choices, take the deal and the sweetener. She then paused for effect, then added or you can oppose us, and have consequence that come with that. He smiled and then said Deal, he extended his hand towards them, after all, death or more money was an easy choice to make. He took the money, and she pressed a few buttons, and the money was soon it is the way. He had a new investor in his company his life, and his friends would not be taken first. This was now a done deal, she just had to figure out how to get to the toilet, and possibly a force power to help her bladder, or lack there off.

--------THE END-------
