Near Koda Station [I-18]​

[fancybox2]Two DBY-I-8 starfighters were stolen from a ship recycling plant on Eriadu, they have been observed near Koda Station(I-18) in operation of corsair activity. Eriadu officials do not need the vessels returned, but want to prevent piracy, and embarrassment, by removing the ships from pirate control. As such a repossession order has been issued.

As is typical, once the target is located, dispatched units have authorization to engage. While repossession of goods is favorable, destruction of ship is authorized to prevent future piracy.

Cade ripped through open space traveling at just under 100 MGLT in his Sunskimmer-Class Starbird, he was en route to his mission's location and was kinda excited for the ensuing dog fight he would no doubt get himself into. His task was a simple search and destroy mission, a pair of ridiculously outdated star fighters had been stolen and the original owners were afraid of embarrassment. Easy job, easy pay.. he thought.

Though his ship wasn't the most magnificently well armed of all the ships in existence, it was certainly one of the fastest, and it's maneuverability would work to his advantage.

Far behind him, left in his dust was a pair of the Protectorate's KPDY Wasps being operated by Protectorate Wardens, the men were excellent at their jobs, but were far too serious for Cade's liking.

Cade was supposed to be meeting up with another Protectorate Agent for this assignment, as the Koda Station came into view he slowed down and began to search the open space around it for his accomplice in today's chaos.

Tum sat waiting in his ship, he'd been drinking fairly heavily the last few weeks on Koda Station and received word of a mission available in the area, a few extra credits is exactly what he needed. Suddenly a trio of ships shot into view, Tum knew it must be his partner for the mission and opened a com link to the other ships,"Hello this Agent Tum I am ready to start our mission hunting the pirates."

 

[Mad Dog]

Tums heavy voice reminded him that his partner for this mission was a Taz'goreii, Cade had only just recently learned of the brutish species, and hadn't yet had the opportunity to meet or even see one. He made a mental note to offer the man a drink when this was over so he could see his face.

Reading the holographic display Cade gave the command to his voice command recognition module to activate his sensor suite,"All right, let's find these low lifes." He said over the comms.

The KPDY Wasps spread out as Cade sent Tum the transponder codes he needed to look for, though it was unlikely that they'd find another ship that outdated that just happened to be in the area.

Cade punched the accelerator, his ship reaching near maximum speed very quickly. Cade was just drun, or high, enough to start showing off a little, for the Protectorate's newest member, and started doing a few basic evasive maneuvers. The movement causing a few empty whiskey bottles to roll around behind his chair.

Tum tried for a short while to keep up with his furry accomplis however his ship lacked the speed to do so. Upon accepting this he turned his attention to a blanket of empty space to the south of the koda station. "Got nothing over here..." he said waiting for the excitement to start.

Cade's attention was caught by a large freighter, a Starhawk by the looks of it. Though it was not the freighter that caught his attention but the sudden flash of light he'd thought he'd seen.

A moment later he saw it again as a very small blip of metal flew past the freighter and let loose a small volley of blasts at it. It was a DBY-I-8 for sure. Cade checked his scanners quickly while accelerating after it, the transponder codes came back in a perfect match to one of the stolen crafts.

"I got one over here! Its engaging a civillian trade vessel, Wasps on me!" Cade called through the Protectorate's secured comm link.

Cade's ship, a Sunskimmer, would be able to quickly run the illicit craft down, and after only a short moment was within firing range, his gimballed laser cannons revealing themselves just as they fired hurdeling large bolts directly at the craft.

Once Tum heard Cade had sighted their target, he made a quick double back and headed to Cade's location. After only a moment the skirmish came into view. Tum saw the freighter that had been fired on scurrying away as his faction mate engaged the pirate star fighter. Tum fired a single concussion missile toward the target, it struck the rear of the craft and tore the engine from it. Leaving the pirate in an immovable ship that was leaking oxygen.

The mix of Tum's missiles and Cade's laser bolts crushed the small star fighter leaving a steaming husk of the fighter it used to be, the original pilot not even visible at this point.

Cade sent a hail to the freighter,"Civilian craft you are clear to proceed, hostile have been eliminated."

There was a quick response in a language Cade didn't know, but the tone of voice sounded thankful.

"Tum we still have one enemy craft unaccounted for. Fan out and continue the search." Cade said, as he sped back up circling the Koda Station in a large berth of space, his scanners up looking for the missing DBY-I-8.

Tum directed his ship to create a larger circle around the koda station and kept his scanners up for the missing ship. After a while Tum had grown bored,"Perhaps they're on the station?" He suggested and started heading toward the station to dock and search there.

 

[Mad Dog]

"Perhaps they're on the station?" Tum's beastly voice sounded through the comms. Cade hadn't considered that yet,"Agreed, why don't you sweep the station and I'll stay out here with the Fighters to maintain the perimeter." Cade said catching one of the whiskey bottles behind his seat. Still some left... he thought as he unscrewed the top.

Tum pulled into the station and docked. After exiting his ship he began scanning the ports for the missing star fighter. After only a short while he found it. Parked and without a pilot,"I found it. No sign of the pilot though. I'll disable the ship.. permenantly." He said as he climbed into he shit and began ripping out wires before placing a timed thermal detonator under the dash board. Five minutes was all he needed. He quickly walked back to his ship and started to leave. No sooner than he got his ship off the ground did he see the explosion in the distance and people began running towards and away from it. Tum quickly left the station and headed back to Terminus.

"I found it. No sign of the pilot though. I'll disable the ship.. permenantly."

Cade watched as Tum's ship bolted from the area a short while later. He must've got it done.. Cade thought, before giving the order to the two Wasps and punching the acceleration on his own ship. Back to base to get paid... he thought just before hitting hyperspace.
