With the Force enhancing her speed, Kalique sprinted through the forest. She took turns, kept avoiding trees, but even if it did slow the beast, it was starting to catch up. Worst of all: trees didn't even fully stop it. It crashed through a couple of them, seemingly unscathed while it's beastial, endless hunger drove it further.

Kalique's initial thought was to get a few more shots at it, but the race didn't allow for that. Also, while she felt her powers slowly beginning to fade, the abomination still seemed unstoppable. She knew it wasn't entirely true though as she felt its pain, but it still kept empowering it further as well.

Knowing she couldn't keep it busy like that for ever, she chose a more even path, slowed down and decided to jump up again, allowing for it to pass through and skid to another halt. That was when the comms finally chimed and Kalique knew support was close. "St...op" she brought forwards, one hand outstretched and aiming for the beast's massive head, intending to twist its mind in a different direction, but it was as if there was nothing left to reach.

"It's beyond saving!". Kalique called back into the comms, reaching Rhia as she broke into a sprint again, her voice determined yet a bit breathless. There was nothing else to do. This thing had to perish, regardless of the cost. There wasn't a single trace of conscience left and so she needed to get some distance between it and the others, including herself.

Racing back closer to camp, the two remaining Sith did come back into sight, the two of them terror-stricken and attempting to flee, but that was her perfect chance. She heard the approaching fighters which meant that the Commander wasn't far either, so she took her chances.

"Tell them...to blow up the area...around the ledge". The natural formation outside the camp was the perfect landmark for orientation, so Kalique kept on course, exhaustion creeping up inside. With gritted teeth and the color long faded from her features, she led the beast right towards the two runners before she herself turned and jumped out of the way.

"Everybody run!" with the incoming vessels and the order, Alpha Squad and Rhia had to get out, and fortunately enough, the beast stopped to devour the Sith to allow her to leave the zone as well. It was still a race against time, and they couldn't be sure the beast would die from the aerial fire, but for now they had to hope.

Meanwhile as Kalique reached the camps premises again, she noticed there was still a whole buzz of activity as a bunch of animals still squirmed in cages. More abominations? Judging from their neutral presences, she doubted it, but their panic was clearly perceivable.

Rhia could only attempt to reach out with the force and feel her lady's presence that way, not directly having visual of the unfolding situation. The chaos of everything happening at once slightly blurred her concentration, first the soldiers arrived brandishing their weapons, next came the call that air support was on its way and finally in the distance was the loud primal noises chasing Lady Demici.

The Lt called up one of his men next to Rhia asking for a status update, a mixture of concern and instinct kicked in as the squire looked to the man once more. "Uhh...some wild beast is chasing her and umm well I don't think it's here for cuddles." Rhia squirmed uncomfortably on the spot before continuing. "Lady Demici said blow the area around the ledge...or something like that."

The soldier looked back toward his Lt and promptly relayed the information on to their pilots above. In a short order, the payload would be ready for deployment. They could only hope that the munitions wouldn't take out any unnecessary targets. Racing against the clock, both the squire and the soldiers made a beeline away from the area as the thunderous noise of the cavalry arriving boomed over.

It would only grant her mentor a short moment to make some quick decisions and get away safely aswell.

When Kalique heard the roaring fighters above, she knew she had to move quickly. She was convinced Rhia passed on the command and so she knew she had to keep the beast where it was while getting out at the same time. The task seemed a little impossible, given the unforgiving hunt she was in, but she knew she had to try.

Skidding to another halt, Kalique pressed onwards and ignored the sheer exhaustion that was lacing her body and mind alike and focused whatever power she had left into slowing the beast down. With gritted teeth and fully tensed muscles she caught the monster in a stasis that did eventually stop its movement while she waiting for the first incoming bomb.

She was fairly aware that she was still close enough to be in the blast radius, yet with closed eyes she held it and held it and held it until the first explosive soared through the air, lading right behind the monster that was suddenly roaring in sheer frustration. It was the sign she needed and thus Kalique broke into a sprint with her last remaining energy, racing out of said area.

Given the moments she had lost while having decided to ensure the beast was where it had to be, the pressure waves soon hurled her out of the blast radius, her armor shielding her from most of the shrapnel but all she heard at first was a high-pitched beeping.

She landed on the ground various meters away from where her foot had last touch the ground and the Knight-Captain was violently hurled against a tree. Her vision started fading in and out while she perceived the massive pain of the agonized creature as it was torn into pieces just like it had torn the Sith apart earlier.

Once the debris had cleared, Rhia and the foot troops would realize that after some more ear-piercing shrieks, the beast shrieked in size until there was nothing left but a ripped apart canine carcass surrounded by a puddle of black miasma that drenched the ground. Kalique wasn't fully unconscious, but far away from actually awake as well, so only once the turmoil died down, she realized she was on the ground, belly first, her head buzzing.

Had the others gotten away? And was that thing really dead? She had a few questions racing through her mind, yet for the moment the pain in her limps and torso kept her from stirring too much. Grimacing, she tried to blink away the blurriness, hoping to spot Rhia and the Squad somewhere.

The instant the blast waves cleared, Rhia darted her eyes back toward where she assumed Lady Demici would be. In all the chaos it was impossible to track her down with the force, before suddenly the wave of dust and debris slammed into the onlookers, even as far out as they were.

Knocked down and rolled over, the squire groaned before righting herself. Like, obviously it was important that they destroy the beast an all, but surely they could have been more careful, she grumbled to herself. Gradually the wind started chipping away at the layers of particles enough that she could tell that Lady Demici wasn't immediaely coming back.

In a panic, Rhia jumped back up onto her feet and began racing toward where her last known location was. The soldiers in turn, for the most part, followed, with a portion skirting around the other side of the 'base' to clear it.

It didn't take long for her to reach the downed Knight-Captain, finding her all sorts of beat up. With a chaotic slide, Rhia just barely bumped into her mentor before rolling the poor woman over onto her side. "Are you hurt, Lady Demici?" Came the worried but attempting to be in control voice peeping up. "Uh, does anyone have a medkit? Water? Please hurry." The squire scoured her mentor for any signs of injury.

Meanwhile, they would overhear on the comlink that the entire camp was wiped out save for four small wolf pups that couldn't have been too old

First there was a weird numbness and then came pain. She grimaced again and raised her head, spotting the incoming blonde projectile that proved to be her Squire. She was fine. Kalique was absolutely relieved and even if she was quite dazed, she was convinced she'd sense it if the terrible presence was still around.

"I'm fine" she lied, not wanting to worry her too much. Truth was, she was dizzy, exhausted and in pain, but for now they had to get out and rendezvous with Commander Stellos. Pushing herself of the ground, Kalique perceived the whirring of her slightly cracked datapad, receiving a status report, the retrieved and seemingly unscathed puppies.

She tried to get up, yet staggered. However met Rhia's gaze again. "Are you okay?" she seemed fine from the outside, but not all signs were visible to the eye. "Let's just get a transport and get out of here". Their task seemed more than done.

Not only were the Sith gone, but the abomination they had created couldn't hurt anyone. A soldier immediately assisted Kalique while walking and it helped, but she couldn't see Commander Stellos just yet- he needed a full report as their distress call had been rather...hectic.

The squire may have been rather young and naive to some extent, but even little Rhia could see that her mentor wasn't entirely fine. While she soldiered on, her mentee attempted to complete a medical evaluation, mentally marking each cut and bruise.

"Me? Nothing hit me! I'm more worried about you." She replied, confident that she had escaped without a scratch. Fortunately, it wouldn't take long, and soon they would begin evacuating with the soldiers back toward the base camp.

The trip back was remarkably quicker thanks to their friendly ride, but the squire was not content to simply leave her mentors wounds untreated. "May I?" Rhia held up a small cloth dabbed in a medical solution, to be used on the various cuts and scratches Lady Demici had taken.

Upon landing, they would be greeted by Commander Stellos himself, who silently offered to assist the Knight-Captain back to the command tent for the debrief. Activity in the camp seemed tense, as the distress call had sent everyone into overdrive pending news that the situation was well under control.

Kalique limped over to the transport and was more than glad to be in it once they departed. She'd have to meditate on this, everything that had happened and she had plenty of questions that needed answers. As for the puppies, Kalique definitely had an idea of her own there, too, but for now they'd have to wrap this up properly.

When Rhia offered her help, Kalique gratefully accepted. She wondered where the Squire had gotten the medicine from all of a sudden, but she was thankful for the assists. "I'm really okay. It didn't get to me", at least not physically, but the mental scars would need time to heal.

Despite concerned, Rhia seemed fine and so she refrained from asking again. The mission had surely escalated, but in the end the Sith had been dealt with and a catastrophe had gotten averted. Their flight wasn't long and so they soon regrouped with Stellos and reported back to him. Kalique spared him no details and voiced her assumptions with a determined certainty "-so all in all, I feel the Sith had attempted to harm us with these abominations...They created their first, but Ossus should be fine now". She finished her report like that, still keeping it together as best as she still could even though she was yearning for some rest.

It was something of a relief to see that Lady Demici was in one piece, of course, but it would still take a while for things to calm down in the squires head. She'd seen a horrible big explosion, knowing that the other was nearby, but fortune or good luck had come through for them after all.

The debrief went well, with Commander Stellos listening quietly, only occasionally glancing over the map when Lady Demici made mention of certain objects or terrain. "Excellent work Knight-Captain." He beamed, with relief filled eyes. "Oh, and Squire, of course." Correcting himself with a smiling nod to Rhia.

"I will send patrols around the area to ensure that we leave no Sith behind, but by your account it seems well in good hands." A moment later, the Lt Lockwood and another two soldiers arrived. The commander continued, "You've saved many lives today, you two. And for that you have my thanks, you should be proud of the work you've both done."

Lt Lockwood was finally recognised and permitted to speak a private word to the Commander. "With the stories circulating about the monster, it seems the men are a little uneasy about keeping the pups on base. Is there any chance you can take them off our hands? I'll owe you one."

Cue Rhia practically jumping out of her boots in excitement, the blonde could barely contain her excitement once it was agreed. The whole ride home would be obviously on her best behavior, as any fourteen-year-old would, in the hopes of convincing her mentor the most important questiion of them allll..

"Can we keep themmm pleeeease."
