DESCRIPTION
The Oubliette class prison transport is perhaps Osseriton Assemblages's most well known product. The company found an opening in the market for secure transportation of dangerous individuals. Most bounty hunters and mercenaries relied on DIY style holding cells that could lead to complications during their work and were not as reliable as a dedicated brig. Reports of Imperial war criminals escaping justice and elusive bounties skipping town, informed the company they had a virtually untapped market.

Osseriton Assemblage's board of directors were convinced by a new and wealthy client to put all of their production towards prison transportation. It would later become known that this was the machinations of Sheev Palpatine and his subordinates trying to fuel the First Order in secret. Many models would find their way into the hands of Imperial remnants and put somewhat of a black mark on the company's reputation.

Since then the Oubliette model has circulated throughout the galaxy and is still one of the premier prison transport vessels in the galaxy. Most dungeon ships are capital class size but the Oubliette provides a much more economical option for smaller crews and organizations. Many planetary defense forces and law enforcement may own a transport such as this and reserve it for the most dangerous criminals.

The two powerful engines of the Oubliette are impressive and can outpace most civilian starships. This has not stopped some from modifying ships to improve their speed though this can often lead to unforeseen side effects like toxic exhaust plumes or loud roar when flying through atmosphere. The pilot cannot normally operate any of the weapon systems from their seat and must rely on four gunners to use the weapon systems onboard. This is because the first defense against an attack is the Oubliette's speed and maneuverability which can usually put most light freighters to shame. The compartmentalization of the crew duties and placement of systems is to keep the ship under control and prevent breakouts.

The Oubliette has a decent degree of alusteel plated armor protecting it. A heavy deflector screen generator adds to the defensive aspects of the prison transport and usually allow the vessel time to make a jump to hyperspace or get reinforced. If not, then the Oubliette has an assortment of weapons making it lethal for anyone to approach.

Because it is a prison transport and the designers believed the ship would be chased from behind, they incorporated two rear facing fixed laser cannons. They can be fired individually or twin-linked at the gunner's discretion. These are somewhat hidden to most onlookers unless directly behind the ship. These cannons are able to adjust their firing arc to a limited degree but are not as good at tracking as a proper turret. However in a straight-away chase that hardly matters and makes these cannons a dangerous threat for anyone who pursues the Oubliette.

Three separate turrets are stationed at different points along the Oubliette. At the front of the ship and on the starboard side is a single laser turret. Another is stationed off-center on the dorsal side of the hull. Lastly, a single heavy laser cannon turret is centered at the back of the ship on the dorsal side.

The interior of the Oubliette is efficient in its use of space. There is enough space and quarters for five dedicated crew but they are spartan. There are three rooms towards the nose of the vessel on both the starboard and port side, totaling six. Each of these usually hold anywhere from one to four beds. These are usually furnished and designed with prisoners in mind though they can be modified to serve as guest quarters with some adjustment though the security features will likely remain in place regardless of decoration unless major modifications are made.

In the event of an emergency the rear third of the ship containing the cockpit can seal itself off from the rest and jettison or "detach" from the rest of the Oubliette. This is the one and only true escape pod that comes with the ship and meant only for its crew to use. Each of the holding cells or passenger quarters has a feature which allows it to be completely sealed and contained with isolated stand-alone life support. This is to allow these chambers to be ejected into space but more than likely it was added to the design to transferred between prison units with as little handling as possible, diminishing chances of escape.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Oubliette-class prison transport are well armed, and civilian operators will require extra licensing to operate one legally.

INTENT
There's very little known about this ship from canon but I wanted to expand on it more. If new details come out about the ship that contradict these stats it will be updated accordingly. This adds some lore to the world and gives a new prison transfer ship for people to attack and/or use.
