Patitite Protests 'Crushed' in 'Brutal Crackdown'

A 'Stop the War' protest taking place on Coruscant today has been put down by a security officer, in what newspapers are calling a 'brutal crackdown'. The group, which was made up of members of the diminutive Patitite species had gathered earlier in the morning to present a series of petitions to their Senate representative. A spokes-being for the group confirmed that the petitions focused on tackling rising anti-alien sentiment, the release of Emryc Thorne, and the ending of the war between the FWA and the Sith Empire.

"We have always been a peaceful species, but active in galactic affairs. For months now our parliament has watched what is going on in the wider galaxy, and today we decided to speak out and make our voices heard. It appears, however, that local law enforcement had different ideas. We just want justice for our people, who were murdered in such a brutal manner earlier today."

~ Spokesbeing Chula

Official reports state that the group, which consisted of around fifty of the diminutive species, were asked to leave the area this morning and refused. The enforcement officer apparently slipped, knocking over their astromech droid, which then crushed the entire protest group in seconds.

Spokesbeing Chula has dismissed the claims as 'scandalous lies' claiming that the attack was 'a blatant anti-alien assault, and a clear case of police brutality'.

Following the attack, the area was cleared by local health officials, who contacted the Herald to confirm that the entire situation has been dealt with swiftly, using a mop and a bucket of water.
