P
ayday, a game many of us love, and something I think would be made cooler if it involved lazer guns. That is why I am opening up the idea to you, the wonderful people of SWRP, to see if anyone would like to form a heist crew alongside my character, Dran Mardel - consummate criminal, fixer and general douche.

What I am looking for is three other people to join the team, and then quite simply: We would pick a target, set up an open thread, and rob it. Could we all die horribly? Yes! Could we all be captured and tormented beyond our wildest imaginations? Yes! Could we all become stinkingly rich? Maybe Yes!

So sign on up below, just plop your character and their ‘speciality’ in below. For me it will be Dran Mardel (the Operative) with his skills as a ‘Fixer’ (background work for jobs, sourcing materials etc) and a Hacker.

Oh, and also - the masks in PayDay will be getting an upgrade, we will be using Holoprojectors, neck mounted, which can project an image of your choosing to obscure your face. Why? Because science. In the interest of continuity, I may also use the Sentinel jobs Board to add in some prep missions for our more bounty hunting inclined players.

Only if there's no microtransactions, maybe.

The beauty of the heist lies in part due to its planning, but mostly due to the skills of its crew. Any crew relies on a collection of skilled operatives in the field, falling back on a repertoire of underworld contacts to keep them supplied with work, materials and more. This crew is no different, with its own safehouses, paymaster, contractors and war materials.

Below you will be able to see a list of the team members (at present there is no limit to the amount of team members that there can be), alongside noted contacts (some of which may me PCs) and the safehouse (with the rules of the safehouse explained in this section).

  • RlBoHU.gif

Drawn from all over the Galaxy, the Crew have a repertoire of skills and talents that can be applied to the planning and execution of their raids. Each member is paid an equal share of the raid they participate on, with 60% of their share being sent into the Safehouse fund (often channeled through various hidden accounts across Galactic Banking Hubs, or in other forms of investment) so as to develop the team further. The members are as follows.

    • latest

      Rina
A Bounty Hunter, and part-time hiester, Rina joined the crew by invitation, however she expressed no small amount of dislike for the ‘Imperial B******’ who we seem to target a lot. With a speciality in ‘going in all guns blazing’, she's proven her salt in combat, and acts as a the support and heavy hitter in the event of a job going loud all too fast.

      Dran
I like to call myself the Boss, however make no mistake the gang have other names (considerably less respectful) for me. I set the gang up to build on the skills of people I know, and also to get stinking rich. Hacker, Fixer and all-round genius planner for our operations.

Did you just write your own intro? Jerk. - Rina

Currently located in the undercity of the planet of Coruscant, the safehouse hides in plain sight - residing beneath a hardware store in one of the planets residential areas south of the Republica Building. From the outside, it is unremarkable, little more than an average store, staffed by a Droid (a protocol unit given many an ‘affectionate’ nickname by the crew).

The safehouse itself is located in the basement of the store, hidden behind a secret door (a good old fashioned revolving wall job), and contains several rooms for the crew members, a communal area, vault, weapons room and of course, a room filled with computer screens where our #MasterHacks can take place.

    • Inside the safehouse can be found numerous items of note, with each item having been purchased or hard won by the crew. All crew members, for the safety of the operations they undertake are expected to make use of only the items here (as each item cannot be linked back to an individual, thus not jeopardizing the crew's safety).

At the time of starting, all gear will be generic, and special items will need to be purchased by the crew at the conclusion of a successful job. It is reasonable to assume that purchases will be much more pricy, as they will be purchased on the black market to avoid being traced.

      Misc Items
      Lifeline Series Combat Vest (4)
      Cirrus Series Comms (7)

      Firearms
      MHBP-001 Heavy Blaster Pistol (4)
      CZ-RO1 Rifle (4)

      Technical Items
      Obsidian Knife (8)
      BB-8 Anti-Personnel Grenades (20)
      HH Signal Slasher (1)
      LV9 Macrobinoculars (2)

      Transports
      Centaur Heavy Freighter (1)

    • When on an operation, it is important to note that only equipment that the group has obtained can be used, in addition to circumstantial equipment assigned in contracts. The safehouse is a non-violent area, unless attacked by another faction - however in the interest of realism, we would appreciate it if there was a concrete effort to actually find the safehouse by an attacking faction rather than wading in at random.

Each heist will be planned in the safehouse, and then we shall attempt to make a move on the target to secure money, fame and glory - naturally there is every chance this can fail, people can die and/or be captured, and this will not be easy. Too much salt, ruins the chips people.

  • All good crews rely on a network of contacts to get the job done. Some of these are as follows, and naturally this can be expanded to include more NPCs or even PCs as the crew's story develops.

    • The crew first official ‘Black Market’ contact, Oruub the Hutt operates out of a dingy bar on level 1313 of the Galactic Core City of Coruscant, and provides the team with their equipment and other ill-gotten materials. Working as a fence, he is also useful when it comes to the team needing to get rid of certain things they have found on their raids.

    • So named due to his criminal business of ‘cleaning up’ after operations, the Cleaner is used by the crew when an operation goes very wrong.

Note - After the conclusion of a failed raid, the crew may forfeit all of their winnings to to clean up evidence of their true Identifications and names.

Rina-Jan was a bank-robber before. If its taking money from Imp banks she'd be up for it.

She'd likely be good muscle and firepower for if things get loud and messy.

In that case, I'll add her to the WIP :)

I wish to join in as Stefan Dellucci; his repertoire of old mob colleagues and underground contacts could be very useful assets, and he is no stranger to violence and intimidation. If he had to fill a particular role it'd probably be an engineer- he's proficient in cracking open any manner of safes, quietly or with liberal use of explosives- or for the weak hearted, a laser drill.

An interesting gimmick to his character is that he's willing to take on any jobs so long as they're holding a moral high ground- he's fine with morally ambiguous jobs (he doesn't view the world in total black or white) but will not hesitate to leave or turn on the group if they take a job that involves directly harming innocent civilians with no justification.

Unfortunately I don't have any characters that would be suited for this otherwise I would totally put my name forward, but Daedalus Ryker would totally hire you guys for some jobs as a contact.
