Sorry Aberforth but I'm not gonna back down from my idea now and from what you and outlander said I will wait but I'm not gonna get some more "experience" knowing that I have some of my own

Just going to chime in real quick here and say that this sort of attitude will ruin your chances at starting a faction just as quickly as poor organization or lack of direction.

Speaking along side Outlander and Aberforth, you will absolutely need more experience before diving into this. Speaking from personal experience, I have 10+ years of experience across numerous RP forums here and there, three of which I have spent here. And in my time here, I have helped manage 3 different faction (two main factions and one Indie), and while I have never been a full fledged faction leader, even the duties of an assistant faction leader can be taxing. It requires dedication, time and, above all else, the willingness to compromise and cooperate.

Claiming you know better than those who have experience in this field - and flatly refusing to take their advice to boot - does not paint you in a flattering light. In fact, such attitudes tend to drive others away from your ideas rather than attract them.

Welcome to the boards all the same though. Enjoy your stay.

I don't see this ending well man, my advice is to just create a character for one of the main or indie factions and do a few threads before you try and start something major right off the bat.

We're all trying very hard to be supporting, and make sure you have a good experience on the site, but we can't help you if you won't take our advice and act passive aggressive.

I already took this advice of yours (look where that got me) and now it dosent matter i'll just wait a couple months (most likely years) before I try again and maybe get support next time.

I'd feel sorry for myself as well and i'd be supportive (unlike you) to anyone else this happened to.

Not being sarcastic or anything, but if you feel so strongly about it you should simply create the faction and give it a try. If it works out then you get to have fun with your idea, if it doesn't you learn from the experience and try something else. But making passive aggressive comments and trying to act like a victim will not help you in any way. Read up on the indie faction related rules, figure out what you need to submit to get the faction approved and once you have the information written up submit it and get it approved. It might be tough, but sometimes jumping into the deep end is the best way to learn. Besides, you gotta start at some point.

I've read over this thread and tbh, it seems like you're kind of pitching a mild fit because people tried to give you genuine advice. You're pretty new to this site specifically, and regardless of whether you have experience as an admin of anything in the past, trying to run an entire faction is really difficult. I've been an admin of an indie faction before. It takes a lot of work, maturity, and compromise/communication with a bunch of other people to make it work, let alone keeping it fun and engaging for everyone too. Everyone here was being very supportive. Support doesn't always mean cheering you on and encouraging every thought that pops into your head. It also means realistic advice in a way that's kind but reminding others what limitations/expectations there are for tough jobs like running a whole faction. There's no need to be rude to Outlander or anyone else when he (and others) were plenty kind to you.
