New Pokemon main title games slated for "Holiday 2016". I am pretty excited to see what they do now that they've moved the series to a more impressive handheld. While I doubt they alter much to dust off the games old formula, I am looking forward to make my new virtual creatures cock fight.

Speaking of cock fights, I do believe I heard someone say they showed a wire-frame of a new Poke, which looked like a peacock?

Oh. Cool. It's just omega and alpha came out on 3ds. So I thought you meant a brand new console.

I see your confusion. To clarify my statement I meant that, to me, X and Y and ORAS were fairly paint by numbers. XY being their first game on the 3DS platform so they largely just applied it to the formula and ORAS being a remake and thus subject to the same expectations as the Gen III titles. What I am hoping for is that they will be able to take this experience of working on the 3DS and push the boundaries of what they were able to do on previous iterations of the handheld devices (Gameboy and DS).

I really enjoyed x and y, much more so than I thought (I only got it for fennikin lol...). I hope they expand on the character customization aspect and perhaps do something like they did in ss and hg where you could let your pokes out and stuff. More in game interaction with your dudes would be fun...

ORAS was cool in letting you get different costumes for Pikachu, so some sort of Poke customization would be cool with accessory items.

Eh the rat can go burn for all I care lol... I think they should've stuck with what was in the manga and had ash start with a Poliwag lol... anywho I'd like to see the pokeball customization brought back I thought that was a neat idea... also a way to go through the game as either a trainer or coordinator and not be stuck as the trainer through the entire game. That or be able to travel through the regions as a post game event would be fun.

Yeah, being able to visit the older regions would be great, but sadly it's something we just aren't going to get with the amount of memory that'd take and time to redo everything.

I agree it would be interesting to take on "jobs" or "classes" beyond just your starter level. Joining guilds, doing some sort of quest that unlocks an affinity, and then making trainers you meet follow those extra abilities and such in the game. Letting players run a gym and then maybe making gyms you create open for other players to go through online and try and get through would be pretty great.

They did the extra region thing in gold and silver... I don't see how it could be that difficult to do especially if they made a new colosseum game that did something like what they did for the GameCube...

Gold and Silver had an easier time since assets were still, largely, the same. HGSS was quite the undertaking in itself in order to redo the entire region with Gen IV specs. So adding 3D polygonal figures with much more varied and fluid animations would take quite some time even if it was a console focused title. Colosseum had to cut A LOT of corners in order to render its game world.

Yeah but when I take a look at games like legend of Zelda and how expansive they are, twilight princess and Windwaker in particular, it doesn't make that much sense to me that they couldn't do it and do it good especially with a title as big as pokemon...

Because there's a lot more going on than just "make it". Making a JRPG or even a JRPG-lite game like Pokemon is much more in-depth under the hood than the LoZ titles. Loads of RNG and script to run the Pokemon encounters and even some varying degrees of AI difficulty. That and Pokemon has way more assets to work with, remember, and render than those titles. Over 700 Pokemon and animations for all the over 100 moves all Pokemon can learn.

Games are a much more complicated effort and industry than "just do this thing" odds are the thing you think are a no brainer are being barred by limitations of the studio or some business obstacle such as crunching the numbers and they found the extra work and releasing the title on a console would just not be as profitable as a handheld.

Super stoked for the games. I really liked X&Y and I hope that the dual-typed starters is a continuing trend.

I guess that's just stuff I never really consider when making a game @Johnnysaurus Rex lol... anywho point taken and to what @Relent said yup that's been a trend since the beginning :) with only gold and silver being the exception... and Delphox is awesomeness :3 I wanna see more unusual typing like a ground/psychic or better yet a ghost type starter would be awesome

Personally, I just want a Poison Starter. If I am given that, then I shall be joyous. If I'm not given that.....then I will be 10% less jovial.

So what do you guys think the next eevee evolution gonna be?

My bet is on either Steel or Rock, just because I doubt we'd see something like a bug type eevee or a fighting type eevee.
