Possible character concept design aid needed

So recently I figured I wanted something more unique for my next character and after trying to find the said unique something I recalled the Krogan of Mass Effect. I have no idea if this idea of having a Krogan character is acceptable or not and would love to know if it would even be allowed to create one because I'd honestly hate to waste my time making a write up for a character that has no chance of being accepted for whatever reasons (balance, etc.). Feel free to throw in your two cents on the idea.

Krogans weren't very bright, tough, and ugly right? Make a Gamorrean instead. :3

Haha, I'd have to agree with all that besides the intelligence bit. Some of them were capable of becoming scientists... Gamorrean's... not in a lifetime x).

EDIT: I actually forgot about Wookiee's I suppose I could fall back on them should the Krogan idea be rejected.
