Imperial Mission

Power Outage

The time has come to renew open hostilities against the Imperial Republcia. Invigorated by the capture of nearby Taris, the Old Empire has seized the initiative and set their sights on the small world of Null. Small and inconcequentil to the Imperial Republica, the world has the potential to be a critical asset for the Old Empire, should they continue to press into Republica Sovereign territory.

The unlikely Sith Weechee has taken command of the operation. The first phase has landed a small team of three Sith outside the limits of Null's capital city. They have stolen close to the city in the cover of the rural areas surrounding it. Their mission is to destroy the aging reactor facility that powers critical infrastructure in the capital. They are close now, shrouded in the rural scrub near the outside of the complex.

The reactor must be rendered inert. The method of destruction has been left to the team to decide, be it through a direct attack on the cores or infiltrating the complex to disable the reactor shielding. The options are numerous and the choice is theirs.

OK guys. Friendly reminder that all OPEN/PVP threads that do not receive PC opposition within 72 hours of posting will be changed to ASK and become dice opposition. Also please note that I would like this plot to move quickly. Players are encouraged to try and post as quickly as they can and if a player delays longer than 48 hours they will be skipped, regardless of the situation.

Vian waited withing the husk of a broken down shack at the edge of the city until the last of the sun was resting over the city complex. Just fifty meters away from his present location as the antiquated old reactor and the minor facility that controlled it. If he was in charge he would of simply bombed the entire facility and been done with it. But the tormented teddy bear wanted a more personal touch, and after the debacle on Nar Shaddaa the young Sith needed it as well.

The acolyte emerged from the broken building sheathed in his hooded cloak that hid his standard combat gear. Armor, his two sabers and standard utility belt. If he needed anything more he would take it from the fallen. Vian strode with a singular purpose toward the reactor. Weechee has been none specific as to how the mission was achieved, and so the young Sith was more then willing to take the frontal approach. His former Master's hilt in his left hand, the force building within him with each step.

The moment the sun disappeared beneath the horizon, shadow descended on the outskirts of the capital. Kai Malloc drank them in, feeding on the familiar taste of the darkness all around, stealing himself for the task ahead.

Fire roared inside the walls of the reactor complex. Kai could sense it. It was not the natural flame of the deep earth, but a shallow imitation born of chemicals and technology. A fire that made light, light and power for the heathens of this world. Kai and his fellow brethren would end that power tonight, plunging their enemies into the dark’s embrace.

He stepped hungrily from the doorway of the storehouse in which he lurked, torn black robes hanging from his grey muscled limbs. Kai cared not for the robes of the worldly Old Empire, for he was a child of Fire, of the darkness and the deep. Fabric and finery would not protect him from his weakling enemies, but strength and devotion to the powers that he served.

A near-naked demon, he stalked towards the perimeter fence, keeping to the shadows as he growled low, nodding to his counterparts as they joined the attack.

Reaching the base of a security tower, he set a clawed hand on the rusting plating and began to climb.

Clad in Sith Combat Robes, with his Durasteel Mask cocked to the side of his head, for greater visibility, Arnen crouched next to the Ewok, a very unlikely Ally, but Arnen knew better. Regular Ewok were known to eat the flesh of sentients and non-sentients indiscriminately. As feral a Firrerreo Arnen had the capacity to be, he could never once give thought to eating a sentient being's flesh, lest they were far flung from anything resembling a human. But he would keep that to himself. He did only eat meat, after all. Maybe he and his new furry comrade had that in common, to some extent.

Seeing the others that had joined them, move from the storehouse they'd been lying low in, marked time for them to make their move. With intent to meet them at the wall, Arnen moved up, through the newly fallen shadow over this portion of the wall, hoping Weechee would follow suit. If the four of them could scale the wall with little difficulty, the rest of the mission would be smooth sailing, for they had numbers on their side.

The human Sith continued to stride, slow at first and then quickening breaking to a jog as he got closer to the gates of the facility. Lightsaber glowing a burning red before him. The security force was a sad number, a meager five men with kark for armor and blaster rifles.

Vian was a dead run toward his first guard when the rodian opened fire with his rifle. Lightsaber before him, Vian batted away one shot, and then another. Closing the distance quickly the human then plunged the red blade into the belly of the small green man, cutting him nearly in half. The Sith warrior retrieved his blade and continued toward to the next guard.

The rodian would hold himself together however, just long enough to aim his weapon at the Sith's back and fire off another couple of shots. Vian sensed the danger and turned in time to slice another bolt out of the air but caught the other shot in the right shoulder. His anger now burning to fuel his connection to the force, Vian lifted his off hand and closed his fist to crush the skull of the guard.

Arnen scaled the wall, fairly quickly due to his sub-feral nature, as a Firrerreo, catching up with Kail as he was able to demolish two of the guards. Arnen came up in a fury, leaping up and over, following the scent of a pair of guards, that had been close by, with another one nearby, but had not exited the outhouse just yet. He came down atop one of them, barehanded, to keep his profile low. Taking one out non-lethally, before the other could engage, thrusting at him with a Vibro bayonet that was affixed to the end of his blaster rifle, to which Arnen was able to narrowly avoid a piercing strike to the chest of his armor, taking a hit to his shoulder armor instead.

Deftly, Arnen gripped the weapon and ripped it from his grip, before clocking him hard across the head with the butt of the weapon.

Moving into the shadows, of the alley near his last two takedowns flexed his arm and brought his primary lightsabers hilt to his right hand, using his N.E.W.D.A. mechanism, and held it close, laying in wait for the last guard in the immediate area to investigate the attack on his comrades. As the guard ran around that corner, Arnen ignited his crimson blade and swung high, to which the guard ducked and engaged with his own bayonet, blocking the rebound strike with the blade, and, in their bind, he fired a single bolt into the air, signalling three more guards to come running.

Arnen, being quicker and stronger than the Non-Force Sensitive guard, was eventually able to overpower and deathstroke the man down and across his chest, cutting deeply through his torso, fusing the durasteel plate to his chest as the plasma blade passed through it, like a white hot butter steak knife, through butter.

He stood ready to engage the three guards, picking up his second lightsaber, from it's hidden position on his side, igniting it, and illuminating the alley he stood within. Ready for the three men to try and funnel in. They would soon find out that Arnen had set them up so their number meant nothing.

A cold wind whipped by as Kallai Malloc climbed, but he paid no mind. Raised by Fire, the very warmth of the deep blazed in Kai’s heart, an twisting inferno of hate and resentment, bound together by the will of the Dark Side. He was never cold. Not tonight. Not ever.

Clawed grey fingers gripped between the rusting plates of the tower, finding purchase through raw strength and fearlessness alone. One or two plates peeled away under the darksider’s weight, but otherwise he scaled in silence, death inbound without warning or herald.

Below, his two allies did battle with the weaklings. Kai could hear the shouts and screams, taste their severed lives on the air. He sensed his own prey up ahead, teeth salivating behind dark lips. It was time to feast.

The Horned Demon
reached the summit of the tower, leaping over the guardrail and inside the canopy. Heathen men surrounded him, two on their feet but most on the floor, enslaved to sleep and poisoned sticks that were blazing between their fingers.

Sleep is death” he hissed, even as the first man turned and saw him. He struck the guard hard across the face and sending him careening over the rail. The others cried out in alarm, scrambling to their feet too slow and too late. Kai ended them all.

He kicked out with booted feet, cracking the cheekbones of two before they could stand. A blade slashed at him, but he dodged aside and headbutted the holder, sweeping his horned head low to impale and tear open another.

Others fell back in horror, crushing against one another in the narrow confines of the tower top. Kai roared in fury, a primal scream that held them a second longer. Igniting his crimson crossguard blade, the Sith let it sing, slashing high and low at the full extent of his reach. Blood and screams filled the night, for while in open ground they could have surrounded him, hemmed in they were lambs for the slaughter.

The crimson lightsaber cut through life and limb, felling more than one together and sending the stragglers crawling for the stairway with their wounds. Clawed hands yanked them back, their torment ended violently.

The Horned Demon stood for a moment in the eerie calm that descended, drinking in the energy that flowed from such carnage. He was Fire incarnate, come to cleanse its enemies from the mortal plane.

Kai stooped among the dead men’s belongings, finding little of value but sweet snacks and sleeping pills. Such gluttonous weaklings, that they would crawl together atop this tower for rest.

Their task had been to watch and they had failed.

Vian's righ arm was still throbbing. The blaster bolt has burned a through the thin armor and left a cauterized wound in his arm. The pain fed his anger, his hate, and the dark side fed on connection and powered the human to a singular focus. Kill the enemy. With that singular goal in mind he once again charged into battle.

Arnen had taken care of the other four guards watching over the reactor, but had also managed to get the attention of three more who were running to reinforce the dead. Vian charged toward them, if they did it right the two Sith would box in the remaining guards and they could both take the reactor down. With the horned Sith pulling, or rather kiliing security while they did so. The human Sith held back just a little until the first of the three was moving to the alley. They Vian pounced.

Taking a running leap powered by the dark side, the Sith closed the near ten meter distance to land on the bothan guard at the rear of the group. Dropping him to the ground, and arming the grenade the guard hand in his hand that Vian did not see before. Quickly the human warrior tumbled backward as he witnessed the round explosive roll from the guard's grip.

"Gran..." he tried to yell but the explosion cut him off and sent him tumbling even further. Landing him on his wounded right arm.

Arnen had been blown backward, further into the alley way, along with the guard that attempted to engage him, who had apparently worn the right kind of armor to survive the blast from a frag grenade, as well as the second guard, who had not yet been engaged, and was thus able to dive behind cover. Arnen however was blown backward, with the force of the grenade being funneled down the alleyway, and into his chest and face. Luckily, Arnen had decent coverage, due to the armor underneath his Battle Robes, and his life was spared, although his armor was demolished in the process, on top of taking a few shards of shrapnel to his legs, narrowly missing his femoral arteries. Arnen would recover, having lost the lightsaber hilt he'd had in hand before the explosion, but retaining his secondary lightsaber, although the guard had set upon him, before gaining his footing, attempting to cut him down with a vibroblade. The two entered a clinch after the guard fully mounted the Sith, blade in hand.

Arnen's superior strength would be his saving grace, as he was able to twist and break the guard's wrist, forcing him to drop the vibroblade, and shriek in pain. The Sith quickly placed a foot on the guard's chest, and flipping him over head, before rolling into an axe kick which landed on, and collapsed, his windpipe. He would continue out of the alley in search of the third and final guard, to take down, before taking down the power generator.

Kai descended the tower quickly, his steeped grey bulk shouldering down the narrow stair. It felt strange to him to travel down from above, for his way was more often to strike from below. But he did not break stride, crimson saber lighting the way down through the darkness. Still high on the blood of his enemies and flush with the thrill of battle, KaI was starting to get a taste for the surface world.

The horned Sith emerged from the base of the sentry tower, eyes and senses clocking the next weakling in an instant.

The last weakling.

The man was small, as they so often were. Small and stout, wrapped in leather and metal. Kai could smell the fear on him even at a distance, almost hear his tiny heart beating in his chest.

The man cocked his pathetic weapon, standing his ground beneath the Horned Demon and the reactor beyond.

Kai roared, a fierce primal snarl that drew the Force to his clawed hands. The cry struck terror into the guard’s heart, seeming to freeze him on the spot. It was all the time the Sith needed.

The demonic Sith struck, spreading his muscled arms wide and clapping clawed talons together as he invoked his powers. The Dark Side surged beneath his feet, barrelling through the earth and furrowing the ground. A mound of rock and sludge surged upward, like a subterranean beast thundering up for air. The mound slammed into the guard, knocking him to the ground and dragging him along at breakneck speed.

Kai’s long tongue licked grey lips as his prey slammed into the reactor wall, a scored mess of broken bones and torn limbs.

Alarms atop the reactor sounded at once, screaming into night. The impact had cracked the outer casing and the Sith could sense the artificial fire within breaking free of its bonds.

Hissing in satisfaction, he gestured to each of his counterparts. Their victory was at hand.

Vian opened his eyes, a ring filling his ears. The Sith sat up and shook off the stunning effects of nearly being blown apart. Patting himself down a moment to make sure he had no further injuries other then the shoulder that was screaming in pain now and nearly useless to him at the moment. He would need a bacta tank or at least a couple of infusion shots of bacta to get full function back in his right arm.

Getting to his feet, Vian would leave the last guard for Arnen. Walking toward the reactor to join Kai. Combined they would have enough power in the dark side to destroy the power plan and return before any military of security forces could try to reinforce the area.

Arnen turned the corner of his almost-deathtrap, to find the final guard in his vicinity, whom would be struck with a heavy roundhouse across the torso, disarming him of his blaster carbine, but was caught off guard by his hidden blade within his armor, taking two inches of the blade into his side, and being thrown to the ground. With the Force swelling around him, Arnen held up his hands, in an attempt to weave his way into the mind of the guard, stopping him from drawing it on him.

"You don't want to do this," Arnen said.

"I don't want to do this," the guard droned a reply.

"You want to leave, while my two friends are preoccupied. They are much stronger than I, and will most certainly demolish your existence."

"I want to leave, while your friends are preoccupied," he said, and turned on his heel, and ran for the front gate.

Narrowly escaping death, for the second time on this mission, Arnen turned and sprinted toward the power plant. He turned the corner to see Kai demolish the last guard with a devastating force push, that mangled the man to his very core. 'Impressive' he thought, as he ran to join them at the power plant, gripping his frag grenade tightly, as he looked for the reactor, seeing it clearly at the back of the power plant, covered in the blood of the man who'd been slammed hard against it. Pulling the pin, Arnen chucked the grenade with decent accuracy. Three seconds passed, and one side of the reactor going up in smoke and flame.

"If either of you have a grenade on you, chuck it, and let's get the kriff outta here before more jokers show up," Arnen said, gripping both of his lightsabers' hilts in his hands, ready for any number of guards to pour into the building.

The horned Sith stood statuesque as the building before him hissed and creaked, gouts of flames leaping through the cracks in the plating. The reactor was failing. The artificial fire the weaklings had harnessed inside was nothing without the workings that contained it. Even now Kai could feel the heavy cables beneath their feet working tenfold, feeding the centre with more and more energy in an effort to counterbalance that being lost.

But it was all in vain. Kai would make sure of it.

He was joined by his two allies, one of which pulled a grenade from his belt and loosed it upon the reactor. The blast sounded like the cry of a wounded beast, blowing out one side of the casing and tipping the contraption further towards its end.

The long haired Sith seemed pleased with his work, encouraging the others to follow in his wake. But Kai Malloc did not deal in grenades and mortal weaponry. He was born of something all together different. All together...higher.

And he was high on the Dark Side right now, the thrill of his assault on the mangled guard still pulsing through his veins.

So the Sith stood, solid and motionless save for his clawed hands. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, they hardened into fists. They drew the Force down as they closed, tightening it, twisting it, bearing down on the reactor like a vice. The air around the Sith grew heavy, as if gravity were slowly increasing, pressing on their target from all sides. It was a large construct to affect, but Kai was in the moment and it was already weakened.

Suddenly, with a gasp, it broke.

The walls of the reactor buckled, collapsing in on the centre as fire and inferno leapt from within. The forces inside were now leaping free, exploding into the open air.

The Sith whirled, grabbing his counterparts and shoving them away from the blast to come. Breaking into a sprint across the hard earth, Kai did not look back.
