Six fighters drifted slowly through the blackness of space. A squadron of nine Jedi Knights, scattered amongst six ships, led by Jedi Master Matteus Robell. With a highly aggressive crusade under way, the group were headed directly to Sith territory from a previous reconnaissance mission in the outer rim on the orders of the Jedi Lord himself. Matteus and his Jedi had completed their initially assignment soundly, however their smooth operation was about to become far bumpier.

--------------------------------------------------------
"We're outnumbered."
"What?!"
"Yeah, I count ten vessels no bigger than ours. What do we do?"
A voice through Aizahk's right speaker. "ARGH! Who the hell are these guys?! I told you that we should have taken the longer route! Now what?!"
"Patience brother. They only outnumber us by four, we have survived far worse!" Aizahk smirked. A voice came through the speaker to his left. "Aizahk is right. However, these do not appear to be our usual foes." With a furrowed brow, Aizahk turned on his microphone and responded. "Master?"
"I sense the force among some of them. They are not Sith however."
"Rogue Jedi? Then they must be traitors, heretics!" Aizahk stifled a chuckle as he heard his comrade, Raphi, thump his fist against the dashboard of his ship; he couldn't abide by 'perversions' of the force.
"I don't know. Regardless, they have made their intentions clear! We must inform the commander of our findings. Unfortunately it seems we're going to have to fight our way out of this."
"Hmph. Are we ready then?" Aizahk smiled, wrapping his fingers eagerly on the controls. A battle cry from across the comms indicated that a battle was indeed about to commence. Viewing through windshield of his ship, he spotted Raphi's own fighter shoot towards their assailants; the rest of the Jedi followed suit.

In one of the smaller fighters amongst the group, Aizahk immediately veered off to the right and attempted to make an attack on the flanks of his adversaries. He intended to separate and isolate a few of the opposing ships, hoping to bring the number disadvantage down. However, it appeared that one of his opponent's had other plans for him...

Sarine relaxed in her fighter, waiting to see if the Jedi they were being payed to push out of the area would show up on their sensors. As she waited, Sarine stretched out with her feelings to see if she could sense them before the sensors picked them up. Sarine and her comrades were all users of the Force. Their guild of mercenaries was, in fact, founded by a former Jedi. However, Sarine was not like most of her comrades as she preferred the use of her lightsaber over any other weapon. Most of her guild mates had lightsabers, but they did not use them because they did not like people mistaking them for Jedi, at least that's what they told her.

Sarine sat up as her screen showed six vessels ahead. Hmm...this should be easy, she thought as she placed her thumb on the canon trigger in preparation for the fight to begin.

"Let the Jedi move first,"
the team leader, Gom, stated as his ship moved into it's position for their battle formation. Sarine was one of four who never changed position because she was always on the left of the ship on point and the ship taking up the rear.

Sarine watched as one of the fighters moved towards her. She knew it was time for her to cut him off before he separated her from her wing mates. Sarine flew straight for the opposing ship and cut to the side to push him out, away from the rest of the fighters on either side. Once she had him cut off from his buddies, Sarine fired at her opponent, aiming for his canons.

@Jax Vos (All good. :P Like the name too.)

Unfortunately for him, Aizahk found himself in quite a compromising position. Not only had his plan been thwarted by the very target he attempted to isolate, that same target had turned his own plan against him. He chuckled slightly as he spotted the opposing craft lining up to fire upon his own.
"Gah! I'm in a spot of trouble here boys!"
"We're a little tied up here ourselves!" Peering out of the window of his ship, Aizahk could see as both parties unleashed a barrage of laser fire upon one another. Although the situation was indeed dire, it seemed as though his comrades were holding their own. However, now was the time to think selfishly for a moment. Quickly turning his attention back to his own fight, Aizahk thrust his controls forward and then to the side, attempting to break away and evade the oncoming fire. A hit. One of his cannons had been destroyed. "Damn!" Barrel rolling out and away, Aizahk turned upward and attempted to loop around. Once above, he immediately initiated his targeting systems and primed his torpedoes. Aizahk scanned the screen to his right carefully, watching as they locked on to his opponent; the system beeped steadily. "Got him!" Immediately slamming the 'fire' button the moment the beeping became more vigorous, two missiles began to careen towards their target.

Sarine turned her vessel when the opposing fighter fired it's torpedoes and flew above her opponent. "Boys, I'm in a bit of trouble here!" she yelled as she fired her own torpedo at the Jedi. "Sorry Sarine," Gom said in response. "But these Jedi are quick and the five we have to deal with are a pain for the nine of us over here."
Just as Sarine was about to respond a torpedo slammed into her engine and sent her spiraling down towards the planet. "Oh damn! I'm hit boys. If I survive you losers had better come and get me when this is over!!"

Sarine closed her eyes and willed her ship to crash with minimal impact. However, that was unlikely. She could only hope that the Jedi was already dead.

"Haha!"
"Well done brother!"
"Alright, I've got him. I'm flankin-" Aizahk's systems suddenly became frantic once again. Suddenly, a flash of light blinded him momentarily. -BOOM- "What?!" He hissed under his breath, almost biting his own tongue as he jerked forward upon the missile's impact. Peering out of his front window, he could see that both his left wing and engine was severely damaged. "Aizahk? Come in! Aiza-"
"Yes, yes, I'm here. I can't stay in the air for much longer though, I'm too damaged." Aizahk began to gradually turn his ship towards the planet below. There was a short silence as Aizahk began to drift into the gravitational pull of the emerald giant beginning to take hold of the vessel. "Survive my apprentice." Aizahk heeded the words of his master, a small smile forming on his face before he responded. "Of course." Though many would find themselves panicking in such a situation, Aizahk was a pragmatist. There was no use becoming frantic when he could instead find a way to get out of the situation. The young jedi took notice of the ship that he'd seemingly destroyed, as he headed to the planet, watching it careening towards the surface as well. "Hmph." He was happy that he had a least some modicum of control over his craft. Although the left side of his ship was incredibly damaged, he still hoped that he could guide himself into a body of water should his ejection pod fail him.

After what felt like an eternity of freefall, Aizahk began to truly feel the effects of gravity growing stronger as he slowly approached the planet's atmosphere. What had gone from what felt like a drift, became ripples of G-force against his entire body. It didn't take long for those ripples to become waves however, indicating he was most definitely within the airspace of the jungle planet. The grin on Aizahk's face only grew as the features below him became clearer. Despite his resolve to survive the ordeal, he couldn't help but think that he wouldn't mind it being the last thing he ever saw. He gritted his teeth as flame began to engulf his ship, burning up as he coursed through the atmosphere. Carefully using his right wing in an attempt to stabilize, Aizahk managed to steer his trajectory towards a huge lake. "Here we go..." With a deep breath, Aizahk pressed the 'EJECT' button. Almost immediately the front compartment of his ship blasted up and into the air. He pressed yet another button, which unleashed a huge parachute from the back of the ejection pod.

Upon reaching the ground, Aizahk took a short breather. The situation wasn't exactly ideal. After all, as far as he knew, there was no advanced civilization on this planet. With the rest of his ship having plummeted into the water, communication with his team was impossible. He simply had to hope they also survived the fight. His surroundings were baffling. A completely wild planet, teeming with life. The towering green jungle trees stretching high into the air, with their intertwining branches forming a thick canopy, blanketed the jungle floor in darkness. It was strange seeing as it was seemingly high noon. Unfortunately, because of the colossal treeline, even if his opponent had crashed somewhat nearby, the smoke wouldn't be visible from the ground.

Analyzing his surroundings as best he could, a sudden thought came to his mind. "The other fighter." Whilst there was no possible way that he could have witnessed their fate, he still held up hope that he could find their crashed craft. There was a good possibility that he might find some means of communication in the wreck of their ship. At any rate, even if his team were all killed, he hoped to ambush any attempt by his opponents to extract their comrade. So, Aizahk crept into the jungle, scanning the area for any sign of his adversary...

Sarine woke to heat at her back. The impact of the crash must have made her pass out. Sarine looked around to release the hatch. It took a few minutes, but she finally remembered where the release was. She unstrapped herself and used the Force to jump out of her fighter.

Sarine looked around. She was in the middle of a dense forest. The trees were thick and the branches were all intertwined. Sarine turned to look at her fighter and waited for the flames around the engine to die down. She closed her eyes and stretched out with her feelings. She sensed people off in the distance, but figured that they were not familiar with aliens so she would do her best to avoid them. This mercenary girl was stuck on a strange planet while her friends were up in the sky, fighting for someone else's cause.

Sarine always wondered why she enjoyed fighting for whoever was paying her. It was an unusual thing. But money was important and fighting was what she was good at. She had always enjoyed fighting, killing, kidnapping, whatever she was payed to do. Fighting was the best of them though. She was never a good bounty hunter, but she was a good mercenary. She always did what was needed of her without question, but moments like this made her stop and think. She could do whatever she wanted in the galaxy, yet she chose to fight other people's battles.

Sarine stiffened. She could sense a bright presence coming towards her. Damn it! That Jedi is here with me.
Sarine turned and faced the direction that she thought the Jedi was coming from. She grabbed her lightsaber and looked at the hilt. It was simple, like her. She glared at the trees in anticipation, knowing that the Jedi could be upon her at any given moment...

Prowling the dark jungle, like a jaguar stalking its next meal, Aizahk stayed low. Creeping amongst the overgrowth, the last thing he wanted was to be surprised himself. So far he'd been rather stealthy, but something began to feel wrong. He felt almost as though his presence was known to another. The force was guiding him at this point, screaming at him that his opponent was very much alive. He grinned at the thought. Another force-user made for a far more interesting fight. He expected that his opponent would be in a similar state to himself; somewhat injured but, with the help of the force, in good enough shape to battle on.

Aizahk was practically crawling now. He caught a whiff of the smoke and fumes that could only have been coming from the crashed ship. A figure in the distance. "Hehehe." A victorious snarl formed on his lips. He remained wary however, after all it was clear at that point that she could sense his presence. Despite the urge to ambush his relatively unsuspecting opponent, Aizahk spotted something that changed his mind. A lightsaber. His eyes widened with glee at the thought of a duel, even though the more rational side of the young Jedi urged him to take her by surprise. Taking a moment to assess the situation, Aizahk arose from the ground. "Enough of this. I know you know I'm here!" Aizahk called out from the brush and stood tall, emerging from the darkness with a jovial smile. Removing his now completely tattered brown jedi robe, Aizahk revealed the two intricately designed lightsabers at his belt. He outstretched his arms and shrugged. "Shall we dance?" With a flick of his wrist, one of the sabers shot up into his left hand; he ignited it immediately.

"Shall we dance?" the Jedi said in a taunting manner as Sarine watched him remover his tattered robe and stretch out his arms. The Jedi then used the Force to pull one of his lightsabers to his left hand. The mercenary ignited her own lightsaber and pointed it at the Jedi in a fencing stance. "I love dancing," she said in a sweet tone, "but this is more fun."

Sarine pulled her arm back and charged at the Jedi. "You're going to die, Jedi!" she screamed as she swung her saber towards her opponent's side. "And I'll enjoy watching the life drain from you slowly."

Aizahk watched on as his opponent prepared her assault. His once wide eyes slanted with focus, scanning the movement of her saber carefully as she approached. "She's fast." He thought to himself, ensuring that he braced himself for the incoming attack. Aizahk chuckled at her eagerness to be rid of him. Although he ought to be making the same haste, he couldn't fight the urge to truly put the skills of both himself and his opponent to the test. Aizahk made a firm block, clashing with his opponent for a moment. "Oh is that right?" He flashed her a cheeky smile before thrusting his free hand forward, pushing a sudden blast of the force in her direction; It wasn't too powerful, but should have been enough to cause a significant stumble.

Sarine found herself stumbling back, breaking the temporary saber lock. She regained her footing then jumped up and used the Force to propel herself over her opponent. She landed behind him and turned around swinging her blade towards him. "I think that you need to learn how to treat a lady," she said with a sly grin.

Sarine shot a blast of energy at her opponent with the intent of knocking him onto his back. She started to notice something about him. He was no different from her, really. He was just the better side of the coin. It was too bad that he would have to die. She liked how he fought. He was not afraid to get dirty, but there was an air of honor to him. He would die with honor as far as this merc was concerned. Now it was time to fight to the death.

Aizahk followed the woman with his blade, with the trail of the saber forming a blazing golden arc over his head. He noted her speed again, intrigued; few could make such a maneuver over him without sustaining injury as they made the attempt. As he brought his lightsaber around and finished the swing, he found his blade connecting with hers once again. No sooner had they clashed again, Aizahk found that his opponent was making a force push of her own. There was no hesitation in her movement, it was clear that she fully intended to kill him.

The Jedi planted his feet firmly in the ground, gritting his teeth slightly as he took the force blast. Although most would have been sent reeling, Aizahk took it like an abrupt gust of wind; he was forced to step back and brace himself, but didn't stumble far. Once the sudden influence of the force had passed over him, Aizahk took a moment to stop for a moment. "Hehehe." He chuckled slightly, before abruptly lunging back towards his opponent with his saber, extending his arm in a flurry of thrusts. He made minimal movement with his strikes, once he'd closed the distance with his lunge, choosing not to overly commit to a strike. He intended to follow this light assault with a slightly more dedicated strike, employing Cho Mai in an attempt to sever her hand.

Sarine parried and blocked her opponent's strikes. He was fast and clearly going on the offensive now. She blocked and maneuvered herself away from his blade. Should she go full defense or should she maintain a constant offence?

She decided to return the Jedi's aggressiveness with her own. Slashing at him with her blade followed by stabbing at his chest. "You know, Jedi, you would make one hell of an ally," she said as she slashed at his waist.

Aizahk was surprised to find his switch to a hyper offense met with such a solid defense, let alone by an equally aggressive retort. The pairs blades hummed, crackled and screamed as they connected, leading even more adrenaline to course through Aizahk's veins, the thrill of the fight continuing to energize him; as he watched his opponent, he couldn't help but feel as though feeling was mutual. He smiled as his opponent complimented him, arcing his body to barely escape her slash to his midsection. Looking down, he noticed the slash had cut right through his belt and as far as his tunic. Far too close. "Hmph. You're not bad either, I dare say you would too." He smirked. Aizahk thrust himself backward and away from his opponent, before jumping up onto one of the thick branches of a tree above. "Not many people can keep up with me!" He ripped off his now ruined belt and shrugged off his tunic, revealing his bare chest. Assessing the damage, he noticed the strike had gone deeper than he'd thought. Upon spying the thin, cauterized gash across his abdomen, Aizahk furrowed his brow and nodded his head approvingly. "Perhaps I ought to kick things up a notch. Let's end this." Aizahk took a small step from the branch he stood upon. Using the force to float down slightly, he tilted his body until he was in a horizontal position. Lifting his head once he was ready, Aizahk bent his legs and pushed himself from the tree, launching himself towards his opponent at a blinding speed, using all of his strength. Like a bullet, he burst towards her, with his blade poised to thrust at her. However, as he approached, he quickly shut off his lightsaber and turned his elbow to face his opponent. "However, it would be a waste to kill you." He aimed to knock her out, attempting to use his speed to overwhelm her.

Sarine tried to dodge out of the Jedi's way, got hit on her jaw and fell back. She looked up and glared at him. "That was dirty Jedi!" she yelled as she pushed herself off the ground and tried to grab hold of the Jedi. "I'll teach you to try and knock me out!"

She flew at her opponent, fists jabbing at him this way and that. She was moving so fast that she was not sure if she was even hitting him. How dare he try and end a confrontation by hitting her in the head. She was going to hurt him. She kicked at his midsection, followed by another to his groin area. She continued to drive at him. She was not going to let up. She wanted to kill him, but she forgot where her lightsaber was. She was going to knock him out. If nothing else at least she could hurt him enough that he could not move.

(OOC: Sorry for the wait)

Shock and awe simultaneously bombarded Aizahk as his opponent made an attempt to avoid his knockout blow. Her ability to detect and react to his strike was incredible; she almost evaded the strike. Fortunately for the Jedi, his attack was partially successful. Unfortunately however, the knock to his opponent's jaw seemed only to unleash a primal fury within her. Almost as though there was a sudden shift in the force itself, Aizahk found his assault being turned against him; his opponent rushed him with an immense flurry of strikes.

"Tch!" Aizahk's eyes darted around their sockets, scanning his opponents movements as best he could. Despite this, the increase in his opponent's momentum was monumental. Aizahk was forced straight into the defensive, immediately turning off his lightsaber and raising his guard to defend. He darted backward, but found himself followed, strikes bombarding him at lightning speed. It was impossible to block them all efficiently so Aizahk took a few hits, mainly focusing on pinpointing decisive strikes and locking them down. "She can't attack forever..." He thought. The moment she slowed or tired, he would strike. For now, he had to focus on maintaining his defense, whilst remaining conservative with his movement. A kick came his way. It struck him hard across his midsection, though fortunately his core was strong. The second kick, aimed for his groin, caused him to lurch back instinctively. He dashed to the side. "Woahoho!" Spotting a slight opportunity to strike, he threw a straight punch as he evaded the kick.

Sarine fell the moment the punch hit her. The fall knocked the wind out of her and she was down. The girl breathed heavily and looked up at the Jedi. "You win..." she panted as she turned over and pushed her self to a kneeling position. "Honestly, Jedi you're the best competition I've ever had. Usually by now my opponent has been either dead for five minutes or tied up."

Sarine breathed looking around for her lightsaber. She used the Force to call it to her and set it down in front of her. This had been one amazing fight. She did not know what the Jedi would do, but she was ready for whatever choice he made. She looked at him again. "You should probably kill me. I don't think there's any reason for you to leave me alive."
