Zarine let out a yelp as the Ewok kicked out, his small stature resulting in the kick landing smack in her stomach. She clamped her mouth shut as soon as she could, but the damage was done, the Ewok had managed to get loose and his friends in the room beyond were drawn by the sound that had come from within the storage room.
The Ewok started shouting something that Zarine could not understand, but it was easy enough to guess, probably warning his companions. She gave up on any hopes of accomplishing anytrhing with stealth and ran after him even as he tried to dash towards the door. For once though, she had the longer feet, and was able to catch up with him just as he was about to get near Talak and the door. Acting on instinct, she lashed out with a kick, using the Force to make sure she actually landed a solid hit on the Ewok.
He let out another yelp, much louder than any sound so far, and went flying towards the door. Which opened up at that very moment, revealed the tentacled figure that had been running the counter up front. The Ewok slammed into the figure and sent both of them sprawling to the floor. Zarine saw and opening and made her move, or rather continued doing what she was already doing, running towards the now open door.
"Don't kill the meatman!" She shouted at Talak, running past him and stepping on the downed figure's face as she launched herself forward. She was sure he would do nothing of the sort, they both knew they needed to figure out what the meatman actually knew, but given her own earlier outburst that had landed them into this mess it never hurt to be safe.
As she sprang into the room a big human stepped up to block her way, and she barely managed to avoid his punch before pushing him away, using her own momentum to overcome his greater mass. But as she turned to launch another attack on him she felt something cold press against her forehead. "Don't kill me?" The meatman, a huge Lasat with sharp features and a wide smile on his lips, looked down at her. "Tell me, why should I extend that same courtesy to you?"
Zarine felt her heart racing, a mixture of adrenaline and fear almost making her body shake. She dare not turn to see what Talak was up to, so she just assumed the worst and reacted on the assumption that one misstep might result in a big fat hole in her head. "Because," she replied slowly, "keeping us alive can make you very very rich, while killing us will get you nothing. Why not listen to what we have to say and if you don't like it then kill us later." As she spoke she started tapping onto the Force, placing a gentle touch on his mind to try and convince him.
