Thirty-thousand credits. Gentis had needed a stiff drink when the dealer had told him much brass he was going to need to drop on this droid. But, he’d bitten the bullet and done it. Looking up at the deactivated unit in its storage case now, he was reminded why. The IG-89 was one of the best models in the galaxy, and it commanded a steep ticket price as a result. Such was the amount he was parting with that the vendor had even thrown in a a280 rifle ‘on the house’ for the droid the use.
Gentis practically salivated as he looked the droid up and down.
Soon, he could put it to use. However, he didn’t want to set his new possession loose without some insurance, no. That would be foolish. Gentis was going to activate the unit and set it loose on a nearby gang of reprobates who owed him money. He was under no illusion he wasn’t getting those credits back.
But he could test his droid, so it was a win-win.
Plus, it would let other gangs know that the Freem Gotra had an IG unit now, and that couldn’t hurt. Therefore, as he stood in the Cantina that served as his Gotras base of operations, he turned to face some of the goons, hunters and criminals he had asked to help out. Some as a favour to the Gotra, others in return for cold hard credits. ”You can sit, you know.” he chuckled ”This ain’t a military outfit here.”
