The Tempest
@Taz, @EmilyHuene
Theme

Nightmares filled his mind. The large black beast held him in the icy cold grip of he dark side, like that of a parent holding a youngling. Then the crushing blow of the beast's morning star like crushing him. The sounds of his bones poping, the crushing force has he was slammed into the unforgiving rocks. The taste of blood and death on his lips.

The Sith Master would suddenly waken, his eyes wide and cold fear gripped him, and a chilling sweat covered his skin from head to toe. With a flick of his hand the sheets of his bed would be flung away and he would rise from his bed and into the modest shower of his quarters. It would be a quick one, as there was much to be done today.

When he finished he would dress in his black armor and make his way to the bridge of The Tempest. The Imperial corvette now under his command. A reward for service and loyalty to the Empire and the Council. Currently still over Korriban but would soon make it's way to Ziost to bolster it crew and fighting force. From there is would be at the will of the Nightbringer and thus at the disposal of his Lord, The Eternal.

Vash took his seat at the command chair of the corvette and looked out into the vastness of space that hung just over the horizon of the planet below him. It was the calm before the coming storm. Now was the time to fulfill his word.

Pushing his thoughts into the force, the Sith Master would reach out to the only other Sith currently on the Ship. "Rise apprentice, and meet me on the bridge." His words would be that of a tolling bell within her mind. Even if she were fast asleep his connection to her would wake her from her resting place.

The dark side was getting stronger every day. The Sith Empire was rising and with it it's loyal servants. Her master, Vash Windwinder, had become someone stronger than Aris ever dreamed. He'd become a master now. She too indoctrinated into the rising faction as a Knight. Hiding in the shadows of her master she was growing ever stronger. Her saber skills with her double-blade were nearing perfection; her connection to the Force following quickly behind.

The two had recently been awarded an Imperial Corvette, a Neptune-class vessel. Aris was hesitant to explore the ship for she felt like she didn't belong. She didn't have the confidence that most Sith had walking the halls of their home. She was still a very timid creature and kept to herself. Still, having a large room all to herself was exciting. And she wasn't worried about breaking anything or ruining anything that didn't belong to her. This room was hers. This ship was hers! Well....technically her master's. But he wouldn't care. She deserved a little reward after her continued devotion.

"Rise apprentice, and meet me on the bridge."

Her eyes flickered open. Aris was having a wonderful dream. She'd already forgotten what it was about though. Her mind was now focused on her master. His voice and mind had called to her. Now she was awake and ready to hear his call. She got up from her bed and threw away the covers. She tossed on her Sith robes, completed with a long black cloak; brushed her hair in the mirror to seem like she hadn't just woken up; and then, strapped her saber to her belt before leaving her room.

Once she was on the bridge she came to her master and knelt down on one knee, "Yes, my master?"

He did not ask her to rise, it was in fact the way he preferred her to address him and in the company of those on this ship. He was not as ambitions as some but he did take pride in his power of this one. Like Vex was to the Eternal, Aris was to Vash. It was a feeling of power and devotion he had felt from none before. Not as a Sith, and especially as a Jedi. So she knelt at his side, and the pride he felt for himself and in her for submission to him was felt in the force between the to.

"My new ship is nearly ready to depart Korriban in route to Ziost. Where it will finish the stocking of men and munitions for the Empires future conflicts. But we will not be going with it. Prepare yourself for a mission, and have the droids prepare my fighter. We will leave at the same time as the Tempest, today I keep my promise to you."

She would stand and bow her head once in understanding, but she did have a question first, "A promise, master?"

To her knowledge she couldn't think of any promise he had made to her. He'd always asked her to do things and when she didn't -or rather failed to do so appropriately- she'd get punished. But he'd never said he was going to do anything for her. Unless....

"You mean Dathomir? You mean Dathomir?!"

For weeks now she'd been dreaming of the red planet. She knew so little about this place but she was sure the Force was guiding her to that system. There she would continue her training and take the next step to becoming the Witch she wanted to be. Vash had made an off-hand comment about it previously about them going, but she never expected him to follow through with that because it wouldn't be of any interest to him. The Witches of Dathomir could give him nothing. This was solely for her benefit.

He gave a nod approval, with a mild smile that Aris could not see from behind his helmet. He would then lift a hand and wave it backward to shew her away. Perhaps playfully, or with malice. In any case the motion was clear. To leave his presents and do as he instructed. The time they would have to start Aris' witch training could be counted in weeks, maybe even in days depending on the will of the Council. And Vash was to knee before those Lords as his apprentice was to him.

As Aris left his side he could place his Commander in charge of the Tempest with instruction to complete the mission to Ziost and await his return. With that complete, Vash retired to his chambers and gathered what he needed for the trip. A single duffel bag, containing spare power packs, a couple changes of clothing, excreta.

Now ready, Vash made his way to the smaller ship. There was no hanger, only a small airlock door and a pressure seal that connected the two craft. The Sith Master opened the door and slid into the front seat of the Harbinger, a customized R-70 long range fighter. Vash had first seen his friend and Black Hand member Gunner with it, Vash was so impressed he got one for himself when given the chance. "CS-44, check all systems and set navigation for Dathomir." he demanded of his new droid.

Seeing him dismiss her she would bow again and reply, "Yes, my master."

Turning away from him she left the bridge and found a utility droid to which she would instruct it and a few others to prepare her master's shuttle. She then returned to her room and would begin packing her usual bag of clothes. Up until now she'd owned almost nothing. But with her master's newest winnings and promotions they were starting to look up. She had more outfits to pick out from. She even owned makeup now....which remained untouched.

Setting a few days worth of clothes into the bag she looked around the room for anything else she could think of needing. She had no idea what they would find on Dathomir. Would she need any weapons? No. She had the Force. That's what Vash had told her. She was a warrior. A fighter. A servant. Kneeling down she would look under her bed and pull out a large wooden box. Inside she'd stored the first and only possession she'd ever owned: her collar.

Aris ran her hand over the metal and remembered how everything went wrong, yet right at the same time. Everything happened for a reason and that is what brought her to Vash. She wouldn't have it any other way. Her hand then went back up and touched her bare skin of her neck. Yes. She wouldn't have it any other way. Smiling she would close the box and set it back under her bed. Returning to her bag she closed the zippers then slung it over her shoulder and left her room.

A short walk and Aris would approach The Harbinger. She set her bag down in the cargo hold. She then jumped into the cockpit behind Vash's seat and strapped herself in.

44 would chirp in binary that all systems were checked and green for departure, hyper drive was also set and the estimated time with this type of ship was nearly a day. At that last part the Sith Master left out a sigh of irritation. The Tempest would of been a little more capable and much more comfortable. But with war on the horizon, and the Republic making risky moves it was unwise to take his brand new warship out of authorized and controlled territory.

"You will repay me apprentice. Your training will double after this until I see progress worthy of my efforts." He demanded. Then thrust his finger into a button to seal the hatch on both ships, and then another to detach for his Corvette and floating into space. The Harbinger's engine pushed the tiny 20 meter ship to a safe distance from the the Tempest and then without warning would jump to hyperspace.
