Promotion

[Cardinal Paroaria]

The meeting room had been rearranged to allow for more space. The large table had been removed, and the chairs removed. Today, Hask Jen was going to be promoted. Cardinal waited for Hask to come in to the room. In Cardinal's hand he held a small symbol of the Mafia. Today, Cardinal was going to promote Hask to Caporegime. Hask would be Cardinal's first captain, and he knew Hask would do well. Hask had proven himself to not be expendable as a soldier anymore, he had value. Hask would receive a base on a planet of his choosing, and given fifty soldiers to command. Hask would of course give a cut of his earnings to Cardinal.

[Hask Jen]

Hask had worked as a merc for Cardinal for quite a while. His most recent mission involved the 'accidental' death of Cardinal's rival in the Black Tails. So having been summoned for a meeting wasn't out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary was the reason for this visit. Sure the Pureblood carried out his orders well and as long as Cardinal could afford him he would do whatever was asked, but never did he think he made such an impression that the gangster would want him to be his captain. Hask wasn't all that happy about the promotion and he had thought about it for a good long while...but in this case the pros outweighed the cons. It would also give him a good reason to use his power other than being a run-of-the-mill merc.

Hask was dressed in his new medium armour with the grey coat covering up both lightsabers and pistols on his hips. His helmet was under his left arm and he marched through the gangster's manor toward his office. He finally reached the doors and, using the force, opened and closed it as he walked through. "Mister Paroaria. Pleasure to be seeing you again." he spoke politely and clearly. He stood in place a few steps away from the head of the massive meeting room.

[Cardinal Paroaria]

The doors to the room opened magically, and Cardinal saw Hask enter, sporting new armor. "Welcome back Hask, nice armor. You probably know why you're here, being promoted and what not. Technically we're supposed to do special traditions and blah blah, but i'll spare you the boring formalities. To get to the point, congratulations, you've shown your value and commitment to the Mafia, and because of this, you are hereby promoted to Caporegime or Capo, or in simpler terms, Captain. Congratulations Captain Jen. You'll be given an area of your choice to operate and manage, and a crew to help you. I trust that you will prosper. So Captain Hask, where would you like to oversee?" Cardinal guestured for Hask to come forward, and held out the pin for Hask to either put on, or just pocket it.

[Hask Jen]

Hask stood still, listening to Cardinal speak. He was informed that he was getting a promotion, but he still wasn't 100% sure of the offer. At least he didn't need to go through an entire ritual and stuff like that. Though he was curious as to how he would look in a suit. He also went on to explain to Hask that he would be getting a territory of his own as well as a team to help with the area.

Hask walked forward and used the force to pick up the pin and pull it closer. He took it in his hand and looked it over for a few seconds before looking up at Cardinal with a small smile. "Well I can't say that I'll understand the numbers all that well and I doubt I'll look good in a suit...but everything else you can rest easy." Hask's polite tone still held on solidly. He looked down at the pin for a few seconds more, thinking about which territory to take...no, there wasn't much to think about. What better place was there for scoundrels, criminals and gangsters than that old dust ball e and Aurie know and love so much.

"Tatooine. I'd say we can settle in pretty comfortably there, Empire or not." He fell silent as he thought for a few seconds more. "If I may ask, what will the monthly percentage be that goes back to you with profits?"

[Cardinal Paroaria]

Cardinal watched as Hask walked forward, and levitated the pin out of Cardinal's hand and over to his own. Cardinal smiled, and nodded, "Sounds good. I'll talk to my contacts on Tatooine, and find you a base that you can operate out of, we'll have you there when you're ready. As for the monthly cut, I'll take 15% of everything, you'll have 85% to do whatever you want with. If you need anything, my resources are yours." Cardinal said.

[Hask Jen]

Hask looked him in the eye, a bit surprised. Only 15%? He expected a much higher number from the guy but he wouldn't complain. And if that wasn't enough then the offer of using his services was. He flashed a smile at the gangster and held his right hand out for him to shake. "Well in that case, thanks for the opportunity mister Paroaria."

Hask was hoping that he was making the right choice. Not that he was all that afraid of the man, but with the connections he built up over the years he could prove problematic if things didn't go his way. At least Hask wasn't some run-of-the-mill lackey. He was a warrior and a smart one at that.

After shaking the man's hand, Hask would turn to leave the complex. "Well better get back to it. Still got stuff to sort out from that other job you hired me for. You have any new orders or something like that, you know where to find me." Hask spoke before he opened the door. As he exited he would give the boss a small salute as the doors closed once again seemingly by themselves.
