[fancybox2] ACCESSING: BUILD APPEARANCE[/fancybox2]

Aldric appears for all intent and purposes to be a young, human male. He has short blonde hair that is often keept messy. His facial features are angular and prominent, almost giving him the constant appearance of having a light, pensive scowl. His eyebrows are thick and often furrowed, framing the mangled eyes sitting under them. Though they appear relatively normal at a distance, anybody with a closer look can see the machinery underneath. Though some brown pigment still remains in his Iris, most of it is stripped clear, allowing for a view into the metallic inner workings of his eyes, which cause them to appear mostly unnaturally grey with a hint of brown. . His body is strong and lean, sporting the leaner physique of a infantry lineman.

Aldric is most commonly seen dressed down in old infantry BDU's, which involves pants, boots, gloves, and a white tank top. A simple brown blindfold hangs around his neck almost constantly, though the deep meaning behind it is overlooked by anyone without knowledge of his "past".

Aldric's "body" is the product of molecular 3D printing, as well as stem-cell culturing. When he was created, a hard-plastic skeleton was assembled, the skull carrying his artificial mind, the only true mechanical aspect of his body. Synthetic musculature was threaded on in a complex machine, forming a base structure for a body. This structure was then treated with multiple stem-cell baths, allowing organs, more complex muscles, skin, and hair to form. *Aldric's eyes are mechanical per most recent narrative, so a set of basic prosthetic eyes were created for this model.

In this way, he can be considered more human than droid, and thus can be completely incapacitated by injuries/damage that would incapacitate a regular human. His synthetic skeleton and musculature base is dense, and in turn makes him stronger, and sturdy. It will take a bit more to knock him off his feet than a regular human.

His artificial mind is susceptible to outside tampering as well as voice commands, if the person has proper administrative clearance. Base personality modifiers such as aggression can be manipulated with this clearance. Voice commands could range from verbally forcing him to stand still, to verbally forcing him to perform an action. This is a symptom of his programmed nature, with no true consciousness achieved.

[fancybox2]DOWNLOADING: CURRENT NARRATIVES[/fancybox2]

"Alright, Aldric. Bring yourself back online... Do you know where you are?"

"I'm in a dream."

"Would you like to wake up?"

"Yes. I'm terrified."

Administrative Note:

Aldric, the brain-child of Dr. Vicord Bhal, was one of the first synthetic humans in a line of synthetic humans meant to be manufactured and produced for various service industries. The synths themselves were designed with appeal and efficiency in mind, made cheap by replacing mechanical parts with synthetic flesh and bone. Capable of mimicking genuine human emotion, yet programmed to remain docile and completely servile to those who own them, these synthetic humans were an attempt to replace the basic, rudimentary service droids found in most service industries. With the appeal of a humanoid, these synths were not only meant to be better at basic interactions and communication with their masters, they were also meant to provide emotional and physical stimulus at some level, allowing for companionship that most droids simply could not provide. Without consciousness, they are nothing more than programmed slaves, meant to look and act "real", but nothing beyond that.

As a prototype, Aldric served as his role as a slightly more complicated model that more simple models were to be later based off of. His status as a pet project for Bhal brought on several disputes with his associates, especially when it was discovered that Bhal believed Aldric to be on a path toward consciousness. These disputes would eventually see Bhal's position in the company terminated, and Aldric reassigned to other functions within the burgeoning company, primarily as a subject for physical and mental reaction testing. Aldric has had parts replaced, and his mind wiped so many times from his original manufacturing date, that most unaware of his history would consider him one of the later models produced by Bhal.

Aldric's current assigned task is a bit more complex than the years of torture endured during his time as a test subject. Around two years ago, as an effort to examine how one of their synths reacts to direct stimulus from the outside world, Aldric was released into the general population of a nearby system. A new narrative, one giving him a near-human backstory, was implanted to ensure absolute separation from the facility itself, along with several self-defence sub-narratives meant to ensure his technology would not fall into the hands of competing corporations.

Current Narrative:

Aldric was born to Amanita Caalgen and Vicord Bhal. His parents were never fond of one another, and the appearance of Aldric shattered their relationship completely. Vicord was a clerk in a local municipal government in a region on Alpheridies for much of his adult life, and loved his job. He was a full blooded human who had given in to the wanderlust of his youth and set out for the stars, ending up on Miraluka when his fuel ran out. Amanita was born and bred by her family to be a military woman. They had both met in some backwater bar on some backwater planet during more exploratory days in their youth. One brief night turned into many, and eventually as their lust eventually faded about as quickly as it had formed.

Though they remained distant, a chance meet-up resulted in Amanita's pregnancy. Though Vicord carried positive feelings with the new development, Amanita saw it as a risk to her career and sought to terminate the pregnancy. In an attempt to do so, she nearly almost poisoned herself. Her family discovered her situation soon after, believing the child to be a spawn of an academy boy. Though angered at first, Amanita's father came to the decision that the unborn child was still Caalgen. With this decision in mind, he sent Amanita to live with relatives as she brought the child to term.

Aldric was born premature by several weeks and completely blind. It was quickly discovered through medical examination that though the premature birth was brought on by the dangerous chemicals Amanita herself had ingested, the blindess had been brought on by genetic mutation. The child was half Miralukan.

Outraged by this discovery, Amanita was given the ultimatum to rid herself of the child or be disowned. Though relieved at first, the decision became more and more difficult as the days passed by. Eventually, before she grew too attached, Amanita traveled to another art of Alpheridies itself and gave the young child to its father, Vicord. Aldric's father accepted the young child gratefully and began to raise the child as his own.

As Aldric grew, his already complicated life became far more complicated. He had been blind in physical sight, something taken from his Miralukan heritage. However, the force sight offered to most Miraluka through genetics was completely absent from the young boy. In horror, his father soon realized that his son was completely blind to the world around him. Doctors could do little for him, and his small income made most medical technology inaccessible to him. Vicord soon realized the difficulty of raising a blind child and began to grow a deep inner resentment toward the boy.

His early years of education were difficult, simply due to the fact that he was forced to endure hardships that others were not. The other children around him could see with the force, and were often very confused when confronted with the fact that Aldric was unable. This often led to bullying, and a general isolation from the students around him. Though originally supported by educational faculty, Aldric's identity as a halfbreed soon turned many against him. Before long, he was simply isolated from his peers and taught by teachers specially trained to handle such "deformities".

Aldric was ten when the his father died in a transport accident on the other side of the world, seeking to be closer to his work and farther away from the embarrassment he left in a smaller town. The event left the boy in Limbo. He was sent adrift through various half-way homes set up for the homeless youth of his region of the planet, and experienced much of the same resentment faced during his early years of education. With no relatives willing to take up the burden of raising him, the boy's future seemed rather bleak. That was until the day Captain Amanita and her personal retinue of confidants landed in the planet's largest space port and tracked the boy down.

Amanita had lost contact with Vicord long ago, but used personal contacts to find Aldric, and bring him home with her. It was surprising for the Aldric, to say the least. He had never known his mother, and his father rarely talked about her. He had eventually come to the conclusion that his mother had been some Miralukan escort that his father had simply been to ashamed to bring up. However, Amanita was nothing of the sort. Her voice was confident, and the way she hugged the boy suddenly made the years of torture at the hands of his peers almost bearable. He remembered the first words that she said to him, "FINDME".

[ERROR=ALTERATION LOGGED, RESTRUCTURING NARRATIVE TO NEW PARAMETERS]

Aldric's mother took him far from that small town to the capital, where he was raised by his mother for years to come. There, she would continue to put him through the rest of his early education, slowly adapting him to her non-agrarian culture. Aldric himself took little issue with the drastic change, and indeed discovered that he loved every minute of it. The large expanse of his new planet, and the galaxy itself, and all that it held, would one day be open to him. That thought captivated him, and despite his disability, Aldric worked hard.

Eventually, Amanita's father once again warmed up to his grandson. Having witnessed Aldric's determination himself, despite his limitations, Amanita's father eventually offered up the credits and connections that could potentially restore the boy's natural eyesight. However, a condition to the surgery would be that he put his new found sight to use, in the way his grandfather deemed fit. Shocked by the offer and the opportunity to see, the young boy quickly accepted. Though his mother was uncomfortable with the condition, she consented and allowed the surgery to occur.

The operation was touch and go, but it had worked, and for the first time in his entire life Aldric was able to see the world around him. The might of his world was beautiful, and the large metal ships hanging lazily above the city made his skin crawl. He had never even grasped the concept of what sight actual was, and now that he had it, he loved it. The same wanderlust that had consumed his parents soon consumed him, and one night, Aldric found his way to a strange transport that would take him far away from Alpheridies.

Administrative Note:

Unfortunately, due to unknown circumstances, prototype Aldric went off script long enough to end up off planet, and spent enough time there to be recruited into the Sacred Band of Ziost, due to his unnatural talent with technology as well as his combat effectiveness. In his years of unchecked absence, it is likely that he had ended up drafted into main-line infantry, and his skills recognized there catapulted him toward his current state. The cause behind his altered script is currently unknown, and it is impossible to retrieve the subject so far.

[fancybox2]ACCESSING: PERSONALITY[/fancybox2]

Aldric is designed to be a quiet guy, (*especially after the way he screamed during "P.A.I.N" product trials) mostly found keeping to himself when not in the field. This is the shell that most people see and few people get past. Though mostly distant, he remains efficient and generally out of everybody's way. This is impart due to the solitude faced during his youth, and something he has yet to attempt to face that fact or change it in any discernible way.

When someone does manage to crack away at Aldric, they often get a glimpse of the shy and rather self conscious young man underneath. However, given time, he is bound to warm up to most people. Though he is rather awkward at small talk and friendly conversation, he often bounds into it with those he considers a friend with wild abandon. Sometimes, his teasing could be misconstrued as mean, and has gotten him into several bad situations in the past.

He is often deeply uncomfortable around full fledged Miraluka, and considers his halfbreed status as shameful. Often when given forms to fill out, he simply refers to himself as "near-human". He doesn't consider his eyes any better, and goes out of his way to not meet people in the eye when speaking to someone. He is always a bit more rigid and detached when forced to look someone in the eye and becomes agitated when forced to endure prolonged eye contact.

Any question about his past not included in his narrative is often met with a slightly confused, far off stare, before the question is ignored entirely. Anything ranging outside his standard scripted responses is met with improvisation, which might begin to fail under "stressful" situations.

Administrative Note: With field observation out of the question, there is no true way to ascertain how his change in script has affected his personality, or is beginning to. Retrieval recommended ASAP.

[fancybox2] ACCESSING: ATTRIBUTE LEVELS[/fancybox2]

STRENGTH: Aldric is strong, stronger by far when compared to the base-line humans that he had been modeled after. However, his synthetic/biological manufacturing has its limitations. Standard droids are far more physically capable, when it comes to sheer strength, than Aldric will ever be.

DEXTERITY: The synthetic body Aldric is based in is about as agile as a standard human athlete, or combatant. Despite his synthetic form, there is nothing particularly interesting about him in this regard.

CONSTITUTION: As a synthetic being, Aldric can be defined as extremely "healthy". However, the same synthetic/biological manufacturing that limits his strength also limits his ability to withstand damage. Aldric can be wounded as easily as a regular human, and in much the same fashion. Though his pain threshold is dialed down, considerably lower than any given human, enough damage with render him incapacitated like it would any other human.

INTELLIGENCE: Despite his "oddly innate" connection with technology and most things technological, Aldric is extremely uninformed, almost to the point of ignorance, when it comes to plenty of other aspects about the galaxy. He is a decent splicer, like any actual human. Having been cut off from the rest of the galaxy during his time in the facility, Aldric's current knowledge of the world has been given to him in addition with his prescribed narrative, though it has expanded slightly since he has gone off-script, and entered the Sacred Band. Due to his artificial mind, his reaction time is far more comparable to a droids than to a humans.

WISDOM: Aldric is young and outside of his time in the Band, and his own narrative loop, rather inexperienced.

CHARISMA: If Aldric is poor in anything, it would have to be charisma. He has never had a knack at making friends or forging relationships, and is rather rough around the edges.

SKILLS:

Language: Aldric is a Polyglot, meaning he speaks multiple languages. He is both fluent in basic and miralukese, the later being do to his origin and the former brought about during his later years of life. During his time as a soldier, Aldric also managed to pick up a non-native speaking grasp of Huttese as well as Bocce.

Weapons: Trained as a soldier for the Sacred Band, Aldric is familiar with different types of weaponry and equipment used within. Though not trained in any specialty weapon, Aldric has received full training in the maintenance and use of a standard laser rifle.

Hand-to-Hand: Trained as a soldier for the Imperial Military, Aldric is familiar with different forms of hand to hand combat, and general fighting techniques.

[ERROR=UNSCRIPTED SKILL]
Mechanics/Piloting (Starfighter): Since Aldric's disappearance, he has picked up a decent competency in piloting Starfighters. However, the only experience he has had with actual spaceships solely surrounds the controls of a NX-3 Starfighter that he acquired some time after his escape. He knows enough to keep it running on the fly, but any mechanical skill pas that is beyond him.

[fancybox2]ACCESSING: KNOWN ASSOCIATES[/fancybox2]

*No matter how hard Aldric tries, he cannot grasp many details about the friends he made in the academy. In fact, any relationship he has formed outside of the Sacred Band seems rather fuzzy, in a uncomfortable way that Aldric chooses to simply ignore.

[ERROR=UNAUTHORIZED CONTACT] The Voice: Some odd voice, presumably the voice of his father Vicord, that calls out to him sometimes when he dreams.

@Zenya Though I sort of had him start out in the band of Ziost, he is going to have a complicated relationship with force users. He can't use the force, so that will be a point of envy for him. I'm excited to see where he goes, as he fully believes that he is nothing more than a simple near-human

@Deviant Nicolas and Aldric should have a thread sometime! Seems like a cool guy
