The large arena was silent, two combatants facing each other twenty meters apart in the center of the huge circular arena. Sand covered the arena floor, and the sun beat down from above. There was only one thing to do. Kill or be killed.

  • One generic level 1 Force user
  • One single bladed lightsaber.
  • Clothes

  • Keep fluff to a minimum, focus on technical detail
  • Instructors will be posting observations and advice throughout the thread, once every posting round or two.

Siris stood there, his lightsaber in his right hand and deactivated. His eyes remained on his opponent in front of him, keeping a careful watch on him as they stared at each other. The sun was brutal, only having spent minutes in it and already drenched in sweat. He twisted his feet in the sand, digging them deeper into it as he squared his stance for better support.

He called to the force, it flowing through him and nesting in his open left hand. He waited for his opponent to make the move, his gaze observing him as Siris patiently stood by to let his opponent make the first move.

Arthemise stared down her opponent, spreading her feet and pressing the heels of her boots firmly into the loose sand. In her right hand, her fingers curled tightly around the hilt of her lightsaber. She watched as beads of sweat slowly dripped from Siris' forehead and studied his stance, finding his center of balance. With the force flowing through her legs, she ran to close the distance between them, her red blade coming to life. In a sweeping motion from left to right, she aimed the tip of her blade to his stomach, hoping to cut deep into the flesh of his abdomen.

Siris patiently waited for her to close the distance, still drawing on the force as it gathered in his left hand. Her red blade snapped to life and she brought in a sweeping motion from his right. He stepped to her right, away from her left arm as be brought his right-handed blade up to block her's, layered above. The moment the two blades collided, he pushed his blade down hers, intending to simply just cut her in half from her mid torso.

At the same time, he shot his left hand to her head, palm open as he unleashed a blast of force energy directly into her right temple. By the end of him slamming his palm into her head, the front of his body would be facing her right flank. It was very unlikely that she could dodge both. If she ducked his left-handed strike, his blade would simply slice through her throat. If she stepped back to dodge the same strike, his blade would just continue to travel forward and complete its mission of bisecting her.

Note: Good so far; do know blades don't slide against one another, they stick like magnets, so it takes a lot of effort to make it slide. @Orbit

Arthemise continued her sweeping motion, even after Siris had defended her attack. With his blade layered on top of her own, she used her strength to lift his away from her torso just before the blast of force energy struck her in the right temple. The strike sent Arthemise stumbling backward, disoriented from the blow. When their blades separated, she brought hers to her right to keep her body protected.

Slowly she created a bit of distanced between herself and her opponent, taking a few guarded seconds to regain her focus before countering his attack. Releasing the force she had been building within her legs, Arthemise ran towards him a second time. When she was close enough to him, she brought her blade around to her front, ready to ward off another attack, and raised her foot in an attempt to kick him in the stomach.

The woman lifted her blade with his to avoid the original bisection but the force push from his left hand connected, landing directly into her temple and effectively disorienting her. Siris's blade traveled up with Xius's to avoid her torso but before she could stumble back, but he kept his blade pressed against hers despite it being pushed up and swiped it towards her exposed throat as Xiu lifted his blade to her head. It would stop her attempt of disconnecting from him and committing another attack.

The blade would travel underneath his arm and through her neck, ensuring it wouldn't be cut off in his own strike and cleanly decapitate her. With receiving a direct force push and a sold hit from his hand, Xiu would be too dazed to be able to react to the quick swipe. There seemed little she could do to avoid the decapitation.

Though dazed from the original attack, she managed the maneuver her way back from her assailant. The tip of his blade grazed the flesh on her neck as Arthemise narrowly avoided a killing blow. The pain that radiated from the wound had served to clear her senses, adrenaline fueling the strength behind her next attack. When his blade had cleared her path, she reached up with her left hand to grasp his wrist and attempted to twist it outward to subdue him. Arthemise used her saber in the opposite hand in a sweeping motion from her right and angled it up towards his shoulder to strike.

Note:

@Orbit, as I have already asked for a clarification, wording can be better in your post.

@MatureContentWarningx , "she managed the maneuver her way back from her assailant is super vague, be careful not to be vague.

As Xius maneuvered out of his attempt to decapitate her, he withdrew his left hand from her temple and negating any moves she intended with it. The blade would travel under it and safely away and he didn't need to have the risk of his arm outstretched. With her attacking from her right and at shoulder level, and his blade traveling to that side, he simply brought the blade down to slice through her outstretched arm at the elbow as he ducked under the strike. The action would take only a second as her arm would willingly travel to his. Before he could see if his action would work or not, he flowed with his movement and rolled a safe distance away before facing his opponent once more.

Arthemise withdrew her attack to save her arm, pulling her blade back to her side as Sirius rolled back. Within her opposite hand, she let the force flow to collect in her palm. With her adversary at a distance, she allowed herself a couple of seconds to prepare her next move. She reached out her right hand, holding her blade, and pointed it at her opponent's chest. They were far enough from each other that it wouldn't touch him. Using the pent-up energy in her left hand, she attempted to envelop him in the force to pull him towards her in a quick movement. The forward angle of the blade at heart level to penetrate his chest.
