Question on Upcoming Timeline

Howdy,

I've RPed before, but never in a forum that came out with new timelines as SWRP does.

My character is far from established at this point, hasn't really been too entrenched in any storylines, considering I created her a year ago, went part-way through a thread, then lost steam. I just decided to come back at it again, but have a question with the new pending storyline - will I be required to erase my character once the new timeline hits? Or is it acceptable to tweak a few elements to keep her kosher in the new timeline, especially since she's essentially brand new? I only ask because she really hasn't set down roots anywhere yet and I'm reluctant to give up the chance to play her out and see how things develop, vice starting an entirely new one within the next month. . . and I have a hard time coming up with new characters once I've settled on one. :-/

All current CPs will be archived, no exception, but you can recreate characters. A lot of members do. As you pointed out yourself, you will have to make some significant tweaks to her backstory for the new TL and she will have to be approved by one of the character mods, but then you should be good to go!

Roughly how often do these new storylines come about to wipe the slate clean?

The staff as answered this many ways many times, the long and short is that it can vary. One can last about a year where another lasted nearly five. It's not a set thing. When they see interest in the current TL start to slow to a crawl they know it's time to hit the reset button.
