Oh, I know that. It's a career move first and foremost. There's a lot more job opportunities for acting over there than anywhere else, so if I want to make a living doing it, I need to go to where the jobs are.

True... but some of those 'acting' positions are in 'films' that require you to play the pizza delivery guy/plumber/police officer all with considerablely ludicrous moustaches.

It was worth it.

Expect to sleep with a lot of producers.

And don't worry, if they're working in Hollywood then they're definitely gay. You won't have to worry about sleeping with women or anything.

Really? Moving to America? I don't think I would until the economy picks up again. Especially if you want to be an actor. California is the pits right now. Unless you're interested in Broadway. New York is still fine, I think.

California has been "in the pits" for the last thirty years. Getting out of a recession isn't going to change anything unless the retarded democratic system in California goes away with it.

More like he has no ability to rule due to direct democracy.

I suppose that could be a problem. But if it's enough of a problem, people might move out of California and make the democracy between fewer people which could help.

Oohkay...reason being...?
I totally agree with Sin, don't move to America. I'm here at the moment and I can't wait to get out of here. The atmosphere here in America is just so different from even Canada, you just don't ever feel safe, ever. I would not suggest to anyone to ever live in the USA, at least the states & places I have been.

Where have you been? For the most part, I've always felt safe.

Muggers would go for you but when you feel the need to tell them about the social economic plight of Honduras they generally turn and run.

I would echo Adamis here, there is an atmosphere in America....Hard to point out.

Lets put it this way, I felt safer in the worse parts of Toronto and Vancouver than I have ever done since I have been in America.

Vancouver is the most violent city in Canada.

Worse than a lot of cities in the U.S

They don't think direct democracy is the problem. They think that they should be able to have that sort of influence. The problem with the voters in the state is that they want low taxes but they won't let the government make spending cuts that are absolutely essential to make in order to fix the problems. They want to have their cake and eat it too, but they end up finding that the birthday candles lit the cake on fire and turned it into a melting waxy mess.

Lol you went to Los Angeles. It's not exactly representative of America, nor are most cities.

I have also been to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Fairbanks, Anchorage and the inside passage "cities" on this trip. On other trips I have been to Honolulu, New Orleans, Chicago, Orlando, Las Veges and San Diego. Never felt in any of those either.

You didn't feel safe in San Francisco?

That's hilarious.
