Sythe sat in the Sith Temple's library with a huge stack of old books, data-pads, and parchments stacked in front of him.
He had been here before, in the same seat, looking over the same material, and yet here he was again. Studying each written line in case he had missed something... some hidden clue as to where the artifact would be, how hard it would be to acquire it, and more importantly... how to unlock its secrets.

For years Sythe had no real purpose. He had been bred and trained to kill, but with no apparent reason as to why, other than the just for the whims of his former, and now dead, master.
But recently he had come to realize what his true purpose was, and that purpose was so huge, that he knew he couldn't accomplish it on his own power. Even though he could command the force, he still needed more power to do that which the fates had designed him for.

He needed to find greater power than his own, learn its secrets, and use that power accordingly.
That was why he was at the library. To find anything that would point him in the right direction...

He had followed leads before. Once an informant had told him that what he wanted was at the estate of a Hutt. Deep inside the Hutt's treasure vault. It was not true, and the informant just used Sythe to kill the Hutt for personal gain. Too bad the informant didn't live long enough to enjoy the spoils of Sythe's handiwork.

Taking a deep breath, Sythe set the first tome aside. Nothing... again. Just more riddles and rabbit trails that led to nowhere.
Anger filled his soul as frustration entered his mind. Standing up, he put the books away... He needed to release his anger... he needed to kill someone or something. Then he would return and continue his studies.

Sabrina was heading to the library, she was after trying to find something on sith alchemy. They seemed to keep them out of acolytes hands, something to do with zombies, that another student had made, as a prank. She wanted to know how to make objects stronger with the force, so she could make a stronger blade. She was pondering how to do this, and it would take some effort, just to even learn.

As she walked towards the library in her red acolyte robes, she was bumped into he was talled, and built much sturdier. She gave him look, as if to say watch where you're going, but he looked frustrated. She decide not to comment, as it would disrupt her studies. Though the first part of her studies, would be finding the damn books. She head in, and she saw the pile on table that other man must of left behind.

He was after something, but he could not find it in the books. She was curious, but not enough to carry on where he had left off. She then started looking around, she was going to find something sooner or later.

Alastair was pacing in an isle of the library, a book about dark side artifacts held open in his left hand as he read. He was trying to find even a shred of information on the ring he had found in that Hutt's vault with Sythe.

He had just finished the section on rings -with no progress on his goal whatsoever- when he felt a familiar rage spike through the force, his assassin friend had to be nearby. It was funny he thought, a man normally so silent -both physically and through the force- could be so easily recognized when his anger came through.

He shut his book and walked around the corner to see the assassin just bumping into a woman in red robes, and odd development but one could expect to bump into people when storming out of a room.

He walked up and placed a hand on his friend's shoulder. "You seem stressed my friend. No luck in your search?" he did not address the other acolyte just yet, but he did nod a greeting to her.

Sythe looked at Alastair. "I've poured over every tome in this place. And nothing." He looked back at the red cloaked girl and nodded. "She seems to be looking for something as well."
He turned and walked toward her and stopped just short of where she was standing. "What are you searching for?" He never was one to mix words or "beat around the bush", so he bluntly asked her his question. He wasn't sure if he would help her, as his anger was still burning within him...

He turned back towards her, and talked to his friend for the moment. She was kneeling down, when he came up behind her, and almost rudely asked her, what she was looking for. She decide she could not to be lie, but same time she did not like his rudeness. She got up and turned around, If you must know, I am looking for anything on Sith Alchemy, as I like to make my own artifacts. As it beats running through tombs, in fruitless effort. Her hand was ready, to pull his lightsaber from him, if he went for it. As the man was obviously angry, and she knew that may turn ugly for her, especially with his friend in the room. She waited to see how he reacted, as she was cornered.

Sythe just nodded. “You need to speak to Alastair about that.”
He waved his friend over to them, he figured they could talk about such things better than he could. “She is interested in Alchemy. You two should talk.”

He went back to the table and sat down again. He would give Alastair time to talk to the girl while he listened. Perhaps he could learn something from their conversation...

She relaxed as he stepped away from her, he is angry about something, but it was not going to be directed at her. She had a careful eye on him nonetheless, as she did not trust him. Her attention turned to his friend, who she kept a little distance from. As she did not feel overly safe, as this was Korriban after all, and they where sith. So are you interested in alchemy? She enquired, she after trying to imbue her lightsaber with more power. So it cut faster through armour, and help kill people quicker. Though she also wanted a healing amulet, to make her more resilient. As well as armour, okay she had big shopping list, and thus she wanted to learn as much as possible. Also she did have a desire for a pets, as apparently they where fashionable. So she waited for this alister to reply to her.

"Every tome that you have access to." The Vahla sorcerer chuckled in response to his friend. "We will find what you seek...one of these days anyway." as Sythe walked away he turned to the girl, a somewhat demanding woman to say the least.

"I am interested in a great many things. The force is this galaxy's greatest mystery, I intend to unlock as many of it's secrets as I can."

Alastair gestured to the girl to join him as he walked over to the table that Sythe had claimed. "Relics of ancient Sith Lords, always of interest to me. Now pray do tell what you are interested in alchemy for." he said as he sat and clasped his hands in front of himself, his elbosw resting on the table.

She smiled, but she was still making sure she had escape route. As she did he talked to his friend, it seemed more cordial, she might not have to worry. He turned to her, and told her, he was interested in great many things. He beckoned her over to the table, she decide to comply. She sat opposite them, she put her hands under the table. As a precaution, as she could flip the table on to them, and make her escape. As she sat down he told her, that he was always interested in relics. Then asked why Sith Alchemy, she was more polite in tone, despite still being on her guard, as other one was angry. Simple, all them artifacts your chasing, where made by someone. I want to know how they did it, so I can copy and improve on them. Why chase dead ends, looking for past relics, when you can make your own. She wonder how many times, these two, have been tomb raiding with no success. After all others would have raided them tombs, before them and already looted it. Then their tombs would have been looted, and so on and so forth. She figured that was a waste of time, just learn how they did it, and make your own. As atleast then they will be custom made, and they will be made for your tastes.

Sythe just sat there with his arms folded across his chest. “To create something like what you describe takes a lot of power.” He stared at her with dead eyes. “None of us are that powerful yet.”

He had the passing notion just to kill her right there and then for her pride. But it wouldn’t serve a purpose so he dismissed the idea.
Instead he just continued to listen... for now.

She looked at one was angry, he did not like her, not one bit. The other did seemed more reasonable, though no doubt would back his ally. She did not know enough people here, and certainly had no allies. He then spoke, his arms where cross his chest. This was typical of a defensive person, a person who was defending his view point. He was obviously against hers, maybe he liked risking his neck in long dead tombs. He then said his peice, and he was right, they where not strong enough YET! She replied and tried to be nice, and polite in her tone, especially to a dullard. Yes, we are not strong enough yet, I want to be strong enough, and have that knowledge. Hence looking for books on how to, as that is the beginning of gaining that knowledge. Though I am sure, it will take time, but I hope its time well spent. She was now planning her escape, she couldn't take both on, she would lose badly. She wonder if every visit to the library, will be this dangerous.

Alastair chuckled a little as Sythe shot down the newcomer's seemingly cocky statements. His friend was always to the point, it was fun to watch the expression on a face not used to his particular mannerisms.

"Sure," he began, his usual wry grin curling the left corner of his mouth, "You can spend your years searching in books about how to make the powerful artifacts. But you see, nobody powerful enough to create such works has ever been foolish enough to divulge their methods. Power is not maintained by sharing it. Even if it was written down, unless you were to get your hands on a holocron and manage to open it without destroying your mind, the books and dataslates are full of far more 'dead ends' than a tomb or ruin. As my friend here is finding in his search." he paused with a nod towards Sythe, "It ends up being far easier -and often far more satisfying- to obtain the relic and reverse engineer the method of it's creation."

The smarter one of the two spoke, he was far more dangerous, and one to watch in the future. Though that was if she had one, this was her mother was worried about. She was nervous, but same time did not want to outwardly show it. He talked about how it would take years to learn what they did, and how they would not be foolish to divulge how they did it. This was not true, someone shared that knowledge at some point, otherwise it would have been lost. So they would been taught at some point, even if that knowledge has started to fall by the wayside. She wanted to fight her corner on this, but she did not want to die needlessly ether. She looked at them, and asked a simple question How do you reverse engineer something, without the basic knowledge of how it works? The answer was you can not, what you looking at. She was now planning her excuse to leave, as she did not want to be trapped here much longer, though she did have one more question. Okay say your are right, there where other things in them tombs, is it worth it for a dead end? She was partial curious as well.

Sythe sat there and listened, then sneered at her question. He leaned forward, his white eyes burning into hers. "We search because our cause is bigger than you can imagine."
He paused briefly then continued. "Making trinkets is not worth my time. I want something bigger. Which makes searching tombs well worth it."
He sat back and looked at Alastair and stood up. "I'm going to look at the priest's tomb again. Come if you wish."
With that he turned and walked out of the library and to the exit doors..

She looked at the dullard, as he spoke. He did not like her, and there was no way she was going in any tomb with him. As it might end up being her tomb, or his. She could not wait to see the back off him, he had no imagination. His friend however, had foresight, and she liked that. Though she met him, with the dullard, they could nice chat. Though no doubt he will leave his ally, and she can go back to figuring out which books she needed to steal. She looked at his friend, as to say fancy staying to chat, or you off to another dead end tomb?

Alastair chuckled at Sythe's smackdown. It was true after all, some things couldn't simply be made to order.

This girl, she was an odd one. But Alastair perked up at Sythe's mention of the priest's tomb. They hadn't yet finished exploring all the areas of that one, in fact they had been run out by some zombies as they thought they had figured out where the priest's body lay. Alastair hadn't even gotten a chance to copy down the map they had found on a wall. "Of course I wish to come. You aren't unraveling that puzzle without me." he chuckled as he stood and made sure the small leatherbound journal he had been recording notes of that tomb in was in one of the many inner pockets of his long black coat.

He turned to their sceptical acquaintance after he rose. "Why not join us? Come see a 'dead end' as you call it. Maybe you'll even find what you seek." with that he turned on his heel and hurried after his impatient friend.

She smiled at him, now the other had left the room, and simply replied No, as your friend, would stab me in the back. He is angry, and was taking out on me, the second I came in here. Why would I risk it, even if your right? She did not want to be around him, especially on uneven terms. She got up, and asked Say you find something, what will you do then, fight him for it, or try and replicate it, or let him have it? She wondered, as they where risking there necks for what ever this trinket is. He must of thought what happens next, how do they share it. He was obviously the brains of the duo, and other was the muscle. She preferred brains over brawn, as brawn was everywhere, brains less so. She leaned back in her chair, as she waited for his answer, she was beginning to relax a bit more. as he was no threat to her, as they where not rivals, and he was incontrol of his emotions.

Alastair rolled his eyes slightly as he stopped, his hand on the door, and turned back to this girl. She really just didn't get it did she?

"We share a common goal. Why would we betray eachother?" the statement was simple, and beyond that the sorcerer and the assassin trusted eachother. "We are both interested in different things anyway. A trinket that puques my interest would hold no value to Sythe. And vice versa."

She looked at him, and smiled at least he had an understanding with his partner. That's good for you, but honestly, I thought he was going to attack me. So I dare not go into the tombs with you, at this moment in time. To her doing that, would to be invite death it self. Though if you ever wish to show me around without him, I might be game. She added that, as she did not want to seem to alienate him. Though his friend, she did not want to have her back. She waited for him to go, before she would continue looking for her books. Though she knew they had hidden them, somewhere in this library. This was her own tomb hunt of sorts.
