He's had the floor for the past ~5 hours and no doubt he'll continue until he's succeeded.

It's just the dumbest. Democracy is based on decisions made/approved by majorities. Having them delayed virtually indefinitely for the sake of a single person says "I don't like this" is about as far from democratic as you can get, I'm afraid.

Something being used things you deem quote/unquote "good", does not make it any less wrong than it actually is, and vice versa.

I'm all for standing up for the little guy, but there are other ways to refute legislation.

and I knew exactly what he was talking about. That's muh man.

1. It's not a filibuster; Senator Paul can talk for hours without delaying any legislative work (if you can call it that.)

2. The Patriot Act --while odious-- is not the source of all evil when it comes to surveillance and general evil from the alphabet soup entities. Imperialist spy agencies gonna imperialist spy agencies.

3. With that being said, I am not sure Senator Paul mobilizes or demobilizes opposition within a limited parliamentary framework. The rot, as noted above, is far more systemic.
