B I O G R A P H Y

Born into House Valtiere, Raphael was the son of Alistair Valtiere, the brother of King Dresdien. At the time he had been born, the Sephi had grown up as a regular child in the beginning years, groomed for royalty and unaware of the reality of his people. Raphael and his cousin, Sevrin, would even train and study together if their schedules aligned. That would change in the blink of an eye.

Rumors had spread like wildfire about the King's family and specifically his scandalous affair, one that supposedly led to the birth of an illegitimate child. Being the brother of the King, his father discovered that there may have been validity to the rumors that tormented their House. With a boiling rage, just at the simple notion that they could be true and tainted the bloodline, Alistair turned to his son and trained him in the arts of their people by his own hand, passing down his own hatred for the King and the transgression he had made to their House.

On the Sephi's home planet, the murder of another Sephi is highly frowned upon, the punishment often resulting in execution. The prowess of a clean kill however couldn't be faulted and was often the path to promotion with their long lifespans. Because of this, it left the politics of Thursta a game of cloak and daggers, one where any shadow could twitch and jump out with a blade. Many of the murders are left unsolved in the capital city but never without any suspicions of who it was.

While his cousin was groomed as the primary heir, so was Rapheal but by his father's touch, teaching him the politics of their world and how to speak with a silver tongue, one to hide what he truly thought until it was too late. As he was taught this, so was his father's hatred, and the memories he once held and cherished were wiped away as Raphael's mind was honed into that of a hunter.

When Sevrin had been sent off to the Jedi and hadn't returned home, it left the process of an heir open to debate once more as the prospects shifted, Raphael suddenly finding himself third in line to the throne. At the thought of his cousin dropping the responsibility from his shoulders and leaving his people, his own family, for the Jedi of everyone in the galaxy, a fire was lit within, one that blazed into an inferno that couldn't be tempered. It added another black mark into Valtiere's storied history.

Raphael would shortly discover his own force sensitivity after the realization of Sevrin's disappearance. His father, one to never miss an opportunity, had sent his son to the Sith Order to train in their arts. At his departure, it had been one of the rare times that the Sephi had received a gift from his father, the Starblade. With that final parting gift, Raphael was sent off into the galaxy.

While Alistair wanted his son to improve in his skill, the true purpose, both known to them, was a slow and insidious plan put into action. One to restore honor back to their House.

While there are Sephi that despised the politics of their home, Raphael loved to play the game. To plan something carefully and predict the reactions that would fall into place. Because of how he grew up, Raphael rarely displays emotion and is viewed as quite stoic, the notion looked down upon as a weakness by their people. While he still feels them, they have been muted over constant years of keeping them buried and tend to only come out upon his command. This lifestyle has also left him highly observant and cautious to the point it leads to paranoia at times. For those who can get close, they would find him more receptive and emotive but not by a major improvement.

Being a pure Sephi, the typical aloofness and elitism that comes with his people are true to him too. Other species tend to be viewed lower by him but he would never display it openly.

With being born into royalty, Raphael knows how to mingle with nobility and fit in accordingly with the ability to control his emotions better than most. Born in a wealthier class, the Sephi was afforded a good education and training in martial arts and weapons. This is included with his Sith training as well.
