We went over this for awhile, we couldn't figure out what exactly would happen since they never cover this in star wars. The half Twi'lek/human children from Clone Wars looked mostly human, so we reasoned that if they looked human they would still have some of the Togruta features. I know it doesnt make sense, but then again Star Wars itself isn't known for its realism.

Those Twi'lek children were just hybrids with different skin color. So the mutations can definitely be mild

It isn't always, this is true; and the half-human half-twi'leks were a special case for sure; most of the time we only ever had near-human/near-human or human/near-human hybrids.

Although I'm arguing that they'd probably show more than some "slight mutations."

That, and I doubt they'd be genetically viable when it comes to producing offspring of their own.

Man, this is a strange way to be talking about characters that are people, and not just animals.

I know, we tried finding out what else they could have, but other than making the children look like something from a horror movie, there wasn't alot of information to use. I'm a little surprised they don't have more information on near/half human individuals in star wars.

Probably because most of the time, the species involved would be considered different enough that they couldn't breed at all. For a long time, that's how Twi'leks were considered as well, until TCW came along.

Near-humans, meanwhile, were - for the most part - considered close enough to humans (a fair portion of them being essentially subspecies of humanity, more than another separate species) for breeding to take place and offspring to be produced, although not without difficulty (for example, the comments about how Miraluka-Human pairings rarely worked out well in that regard).

@Tristyn

Why can't you just write that her children were adopted and avoid the complications? I mean, that could make for some good backstories. I'm sure parentless children are overly common in such a large and unforgiving place as the Star Wars galaxy.

EXACTLY. It's too cliche. I've never seen a normal family on this site before. And I like this family I forged already.

It's not cliche, it's just commonplace. Sometimes things that are normal or realistic make much more compelling stories, it depends on how you write them. Andro's story is massively common, but that's the idea, it's meant to convey a real, gritty and frequently occurring scenario in Sith Warrior culture, but I took my own spin on it and made it original.

I personally think a Togruta and a human having a child doesn't biologically make sense, seems really silly and doesn't read well in terms of story.

The reason a more realistic story like adoption is more interesting, is because it allows you much more freedom due to it's simplicity. There could be countless reasons or scenarios that lead to the children's adoption, and countless backstories they could have far away from their parents' home.

That's how I write my characters, I begin with simple, familiar concepts (tortured cyborg, mad sorcerer, twi'lek lover of Sith Warrior, etc) and expand upon them. Eventually they develop into their own original tales.

Algarus and I discussed this briefly and we've changed all char's bios. Ray's daughter is adopted and is actually the daughter of a Sith Lord. I see lots of Dark side stuff coming up now.

Thanks so much for the suggestion!

No worries. I'm always happy to help with characters.

On another topic, I am really, really not OK with people using a list to describe their characters' personality. That is not going to cut it. This isn't equipment or powers, this is your characters' complex psychology and behavioral nuances, and requires descriptive detail in order to properly present the character and do them justice. If this was a Sith, I wouldn't be approving them.

Fifty words is the minimum required for a personality section. Descriptive, intricate personalities are the first thing that makes me want to RP with a character.

Agreed on the Midichlorians - it's a generally hated thing, even if canon. It'd be like if someone was an ancestor of Jar-Jar - you might get banned for that. ;)

Specially like his great grand father....then id blame them for creating said blood line....probably attempt to kill them to stop the future .....jar jar.... Lol if that were even possible lol
