DESCRIPTION
The Razor-class starfighter is middling-performance commercially available combat spacecraft manufactured by the Starypan/SunHui Spaceworks corporation. Originally developed during the Imperial era as a low-cost option for buyers seeking a more "generalist" design, the type was and is favored by corporate security forces, low-rent mercenaries and pirates throughout the Galaxy thanks to its low cost and useful capabilities. The Razor, true to its name, has a sleek, sharp, aerodynamic design, considered by some to be a classic. 16 meters in length, the type is large for a snubfighter, boasting a tandem 2-seat cockpit which accommodates the ship's pilot and a single passenger. Armament consists of twin medium laser cannons mounted on the wingtips, as well as a pair of light ion cannons under the nose, and a pair of 4-shot concussion missile launchers. Performance is nevertheless slightly below average, with decent maneuverability but a top speed of only 95 MGLT, just slower than an X-Wing of Galactic Civil War vintage. The type also has notably substandard shielding.
The Razor, despite its shortcomings and the age of the design, remains a steady seller for Starypan/SunHui, even into the present day. Although it has never achieved any significant military contracts, it can still be found serving the aforementioned markets.
