Location: Valley of Sleeping Kings, Korriban, R-5
Time: Mid-day
Participants: @Geir Ambros (@Darasuum ), @Nik , @xrisxian , @Phantom
OOC: here (please read if planning on joining thread)
Theme: Gold Empire by Apashe (personal theme of Geir Ambros)

it had been a long time since Geir had set foot on the desolate world. usually it was only when he had professional business to attend to. when the temple had been bombed it he hadn't returned to pick up the pieces like many others had. instead he had gone to nearby planets and key facilities to assure they were not falling into doubt of the Sith Empire's power. some may have wondered why he hadn't shown his face on the homebase of the Sith Brotherhood in months. the more zealous might accuse him of being disloyal but as usual he wasn't one to care what other people thought of him unless it suited his own desires.

today he was brought to the dry landscape to assist in rebuilding damaged structures in the Valley of Sleeping Kings. it was also called the Valley of the Dark Lords technically but there was a location of the same name on Morriban so he referred to them differently. this location was not nearly as morbid as the one on Morriban. it actually had a sense of activity and life whereas the location on its sister planet was far more morbid and full of dark power emanating from all directions.

it was the temple that had been bombed but other areas had been damaged as well. Geir both with an extensive amount of personal finance as well as assistance as a Moff and leader of the Dark Knights of Sin would direct the planning and designs of the reconstruction. before buildings had been ostentatious and grandiose but not necessarily practical. the Sith were at war with both the Jedi and the Republic and could make even more enemies before the fighting was over. as an individual with a military background he looked at the area with an eye of experience. he wondered if he were to attack the valley how would he lay siege to the location.

others had volunteered to assist which he welcomed. his plan for a Dark Knights of Sin presence was planned as well to be nearby the Sith Academy after repairs had been made. the Ambros Estate on Serenno was already well underway and he had spent a fair amount of time reading up on architectural designs and fortifications. a little part inside of him was excited, imagining what it would be like to be on Music Holo-Vids Cribs. but his smile left his face as he returned to the present, signing off on a few logistical forms for various pieces of equipment and materials.

One could feel it, the welling of anger and hatred almost overwhelming any Force-User when they made ground against the dry earth of Korriban's heated desert. The Old Rulers of the far past Sith Empire were upset with the most recent attack and bombing upon the Sith's scared grounds. They wanted a complete and utter retaliation upon the people who did this deed. Jedi. As well, due to the number of attacks upon Sith space, there were a number of new Supreme Leaders who had come and go. The latest one had beckoned every last individual to come help rebuild our home-land, the base of operations.

Taran had come with Geir after their talks and him joining the Dark Brotherhood of Sin. Not one for labels but joining the organization would allow the Shistanvanen to maintain a sense of closeness to his old comrade and hopefully find out answers regarding Master Drakcya and what had actually happened to procure her untimely death. His tall body would come walk towards Geir, a clawed black hand reaching up to cover his eyes from the beating warmth. Fur, especially black did not maintain a cool temperature for the wolf-man on his body, one reason why he had not been here in recent months and off doing random missions for the Brotherhood.

Cocking his head to the side, his yellow pupils gazed towards the Valley of the Sleeping Kings. He had personally spent some time here during his training, of course most Acolytes did so in the attempt to commune with ancestors and hopefully gain wisdom and power greater than their peers. It seemed the Sith were doomed to destroy themselves unless they could come together. Hopefully this new Supreme Leader realized that and would have us strike forth together as one unit in a brutal retaliation against the Jedi. It was one thing to go to war and attack a settlement, but to attack sacred ground full of history? That was overstepping a sense of honor the Jedi preached they held within themselves and their order.

A snort would escape the mans nostrils as his thinking caused him once again to realize just how hypocritically the entire Jedi Order were. The belief in Good and Evil did not exist in this world. Such a trivial excuse to explain their actions. No wonder common people mistrusted all Force-Users in general.

Merak was beyond humbled as the dark aura of the Sith home world crept through him. For someone who had never touched foot on this planet he was ecstatic. Had Geir not brought this idea to light he would never have had access to the planet or a chance at studying with and under The Dark Knights of Sin, this was an opportunity he could not miss.

The heat was nothing more than a motivation to help Merak stay determined to build and find knowledge lost to the brotherhood by the bombing. His body almost trembled with anticipation as the dark robed figure kept his face covered, he did not feel worthy to fully embrace the darkness as he had not proved himself worthy of the power the Sith Empire once held.

Merak began his hike through the hot sand to meet up with the others so they might begin discussing how this will be done and where he would fit in. He did afterall want so badly to spar with the budding section of the brotherhood as a way of paying tribute to the great Sith Warriors that had fallen before him.

First though, the matter of seeing what survived the temple bombing was at hand.

The land was more of a desolate waste than Vega had imagined. He'd only recently landed on Korriban. Every hour longer he spent on this dry planet, the heavier his boots would grow with sand. Temple after building, all wrought with disaster; the scenery hadn't changed much since he'd arrived.

That was when he realized he was a little lost. He came to Korriban to meet the new Supreme Leader, who at this time was not accepting an audience. Wanting to participate in the coming tournament, he was bout to this planet until it would begin. In the mean time, he'd been meandering around the Valley of the Dark Lords following the force. It was the force that ultimately led him to this planet, and the force of this planet was strong with detestable emotion. With nothing better to do, he figured that his trust in the force would lead him to fate. Off in the distance, he could make out a few figures around a particular temple. The force resonated strongly in their direction, so he followed it to the temple.

Geir had dressed a little lighter than usual. most Moffs or people of power showed off their rank and position but Geir had never done such and wasn't about to start to. he wore a simple grey shirt and working trousers along with boots so he looked not unlike any other construction worker though on his belt he carried a blaster pistol, knife and his two lightsabers as he did almost everywhere. but if he were to do heavy lifting he wouldn't likely need these weapons. instead he simply unholstered the blaster and placed it on the design table in front of him so it would not get in the way.

the Shistavanen that had accompanied him had been a friend to him for many years and only recently had the two reconnected. now he was glad to have the close camaraderie they once shared rekindled even in these dire circumstances. "what do you think? we'll make the structure just as magnificent as it was previously but with more integrity. anything short of a star destroyer falling on top of it won't bring it down." he glanced at his black furred companion seeing what he thought. others were starting to gather on the project which pleased him as well. he left his posture open so as to subconsciously let others know he was open to conversation on the subject at hand. more often than not he was open to talking about anything it was just a matter of the other side of potential conversation was ready to initiate speech.

Merak scratched his head and approached the table. He was dressed in his robes of course but merely out of self discipline. He debated about his role yet knew what he was being called to do first.
"Might I search the rubble and collect anything important that survived or was missed by our initial search after the bombing?" He felt that if they were to rebuild then all that was once home should be saved and rebuilt. Above all the sparring room holocrons showing footage and techniques was what he wished to salvage.
Merak pictured the temple the way all Sith should be viewed. Like all Sith it should be strong, resilient, and menacing. This was of course their home and it should carry pride in its appearance.

Taran stood there amongst the sand, his arm still resting above his face to help hide his muzzle from the heat waves pestering down on the group's bodies. His black robes covered his immense frame, a utility belt holding his two orange lightsabers plus a myriad of other tools: food, flash bangs, med-kits, basic survival necessities. The male had learned over the course of his journeys to be prepared for anything. The amount of times living that way had caused him to get out of a troublesome situation over the past fifteen years. His nose flickered, smelling two men, one who had already talked after Geir and the other on his way to the group. Both were unknown to the Shistavanen for now.

Not even responding to the new man before him, Taran would direct his words towards Geir, "Best if we excavate the entire site, especially down near the graves. What better time to see if there anything of value, especially for the Estate."

Vega had finally come close to the group of men pondering amongst the temple rubble. There was a Morellian, but it was the Shistavanen that caught his attention. He’d never seen one before, but he’d heard much about the feral species. He wondered if they behaved as beastly as they looked. The boy approached with caution. From what he could gather, these were members of the Knights of Sin, a strong group of Sith led with the symbol of a dragon’s head. Not long ago, Vega had an epiphany in an old Sith Temple. It was there he found his weapon, a lightsaber pike—common to Knights of the Sith. Was this a sign from the force? Was he to join the ranks of the knights, or was it mere coincidence? Was he actually lost, or was he wandering to follow his fate. Regardless, he finally spoke. “Who’s in charge here?” he questioned to no one in particular. His eyes were hidden from the sheath of his hood, but he could not mask the youth behind his voice.

"Might I search the rubble and collect anything important that survived or was missed by our initial search after the bombing?" Geir heard the voice of young male human. Taran heard him as well but didn't say anything instead having a similar idea though more towards recovering them for the Dark Knights of Sin and not the brotherhood as a whole. Geir was tempted by the idea but knew not to bite off more than he could chew. the Ambros Estate was not as secure as Korriban, or at least it shouldn't be considering this was the base of the brotherhood. still he didn't want his personal property to become the target of attacks by numerous parties.

"We need to handle them with care, not for the artifacts' safety, but for our own. some of those contain ancient powers that you can't comprehend. I think it wise if they stay here after we recover them." he said this to both Shistavanen and the young human. a moment later another even younger male approached. the Arkanian-offshoot had known of his presence but figured he was just an acolyte speculating, which he had no issue with.

"who's in charge here?" he asked aloud. it wasn't the best way to announce one's presence especially in the type of environment the sith bred but Geir just looked over at him before replying.

"who's asking?" he said looking the youth up and down with a practiced eye.

"I understand, I'll bring anything I find to you and we can take it from there." Merak said as he studied the new addition to the small group. Perhaps the building would come faster with a smaller group following a simple plan as opposed to a large group arguing. The other advantage to being a small group would be that the holocrons were going to be easier to find. Merak studied the beast beside him before brushing him off.

"I'll take my leave and report back in the evening. Perhaps our friend over there can find food. Outhe rations will only go so far." Merak grinned a bit. He waited for a violent response but still seemed amused with himself, without fighting he was a bit off. He wanted nothing more than to rebuild and then utilize the new sparring room and holocrons.

Listening quietly to the words both Geir and Merak stated, Taran would not retaliate against the man's words. It would only cause unneeded strife in this time that the Sith needed to come together to fend off the Jedi. Plus the Shistavanen held little respect for people who could not care for themselves, hunting for their own food included. Survival was necessary in life especially if one wanted to accomplish anything worthwhile. A new smell had emerged within the sand dunes, based on his voice and how the male held himself, he was young, inexperienced to the vast ways of life, a blank slate. One that could be used if the wrong person got a hold of him.

Especially with a sudden outburst of, "Who is in charge here?" led Taran to believe the young man held no real experience, especially surrounding the Sith and how they operate on a day to day business. Being so brash and outspoken could get the male in life-threatening danger quickly if he did not learn to keep his tongue in check. His wolfish face would peer at the man, a slight turn of his muzzle would happen as yellow pupils stared intently towards the other waiting for his reply to Geir.

"Who's asking," asked one of the men. Being the only one to speak, he assumed this one was the leader.

"My name is Vega," he removed his hood, revealing the young features of his face. He looked the man in his eyes, wondering what his initial reaction would be. "I come bearing gifts," He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small electronic pad, handing it to whoever would accept it. The pad displayed that Vega held a small shipment of construction droids in his possession; though not currently with him. He'd recently embarked on a mission in which he seized a few droids with a fellow Sith. "However, the gifts are only for the Knights of Sin. Something told me I might find some of them here..."

Geir waved his hand towards Merak showing he understood and heard him as he departed to go do his own thing. Geir took the electronic pad and analyzed the information before replying to the youth. "I am Moff Ambros, leader of the Dark Knights of Sin." he put emphasis on the correct naming of the unit he had personally founded.

as he spoke he glanced over at Taran to see what his expression would indicate of his own feelings towards Vega. the sith was young and so had still much to learn in both the Brotherhood's and the greater galaxy's realm of existence. but to what extent Geir still had to see so he did not comment on his mannerisms.

Inside, Taran would be pleasantly surprised that this child knew about the Dark Knights of Sin, most in the galaxy did not and they almost preferred it that way. At least Blackmane did. Never one for the spotlight, he much preferred keeping to the edges that suited his own fur color. What surprised Taran even more was Geir coming straight out and telling this young boy who he was. Folding his forearms over themselves in the standard way, Taran would glance sideways at the youngling, his interest peaked a bit. Why would the Force lead a boy with obvious very little galaxy experience to the heart of the Brotherhood? More specifically to the Dark Knights of Sin? Taran would continue to listen for the time being, not wanting to interject at this moment and wanting to see how this boy held an interaction with Geir.

the youth stayed silent and seemed to keep to the background. work was getting underway and in a few weeks if he really pushed the construction crew and organized it properly the academy should be used before being finished soon after. in addition to the Dark Knights of Sin the Sith intelligence operations office would be in the valley as well.

Taran stayed silent like his typical self but it didn't matter for the most part. there were other matters to attend to and there were other matters to attend to. watching over construction activity and directly was not necessary but he would stay involved and in the loop.

~END OF THREAD~

finishing this due to the newsletter stating the rebuilding arc should be finished. also i don't think there's much else to do here and since 3 out of the 4 people have been inactive for awhile too. made it far enough for myself to consider it complete
