The dirty and dusty cantina The Rogue Teller had an air of cleanliness that spoke to the fact that it had used to be a bank before being purchased by the current owners. As such, some of the bank vaults were still in the building and had, in fact, been renovated to be used as a sort of VIP area for clients who desired a bit more privacy than most. Now, normally, such vaults were used by ladies of the night, their clients, drug users or some combination of the three but tonight, one vault in particular was being used for something a bit less nefarious, albeit just as secretive.

Drow Venn, Jedi Master, had recently been exiled from the Temple at Yavin IV for striking out against the Sith using insurgents the Council deemed as terrorists. Drow had understood the decision and the mercy of the Grandmaster, his friend Alex Voran, had meant that his "exile" consisted of being promoted to the head of the Jedi Shadows. It was a duty he didn't take lightly and part of that duty consisted of finding and recruiting solid Jedi for the role of Shadow.

And there was no one Drow would rather have in the organization that he found himself in charge of than Drastus Drahr. The man was, above all else, a fierce and capable combatant and Drow had seen firsthand his bravery and quick thinking on the battlefield. Whether that was wrestling Gammorreans or flying against privateers or even going toe to toe with a Dark Side cult leader, Drow knew he could trust Drastus whenever things got heated. But more than his skills in battle, Drastus was a friend and Drow knew that his roguish skills would be a great asset to the Shadows. True, the lad did have some darkness in him but so did Drow and the Shadows were a great place for people like them.

"Listen, it's been too long, my friend. Regardless of what your answer is, I'll always be your friend. But know this, it won't be an easy life if you choose it. A lot of paranoia, backstabbing, and getting your hands dirty. We'll be infiltrating the scummiest of the scumbags and using them to put a hurting on the Sith. Assassinations, robberies, piracy, you name it - you might be exposed to all of it. Hell, you might even find yourself flirting with the Dark Side too. So if you have any doubts in yourself, now's the time to say so. Because all of this will be done for one noble reason and that's to destroy the Sith. But to do that, I need Shadows who won't waver." Drow told Drastus in the booth/bank vault that they were drinking in after he'd given the young man the Jedi Shadow pitch.

"I got exiled for brushing too close to darkness to fight the Sith. I don't want that or worse happening to you too my friend."

The Rogue Teller. It was an interesting name and definitely one that would foreshadow the events of the meeting. Drastus had, once again, found a way off Yavin with one of the Jedi Knights and after a slight detour, a promise to meet, and whatnot he found himself crossing the threshold. As he was out in the galaxy, Drastus was currently clad in his Mandalorian armor, which was quickly becoming the go-to look for him. His visor would trace the room, which was deceptively small as the building itself just seemed to go deeper and deeper, before it fell on a familiar form.

In truth, he had felt outrage when news reached him of Drow being exiled from the Order. He couldn't believe it, he almost left that same day. But something kept him staying put and that was a beautiful pink face that he had to help reunite with her sister. He would leave, but only once every oath was fulfilled. Smiling beneath his helm, Drast would adjust his gauntlets before crossing the room to his longtime friend Drow Venn. "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, of all the worlds, I walk into yours." His grin would be audible, even through the speakers. He would order a drink from a wandering waitress before clapping Drow on the shoudler and lowering into the seat across from the Ish Tibb and he would sit in silence as the man opened up the conversation.

He would even find himself nodding at certain points. To his knowledge, Drow had wanted him to join the Shadows, some secret assassin group for the Jedi. Basically, in his mind, the fall guys. "So.. the exile is a ploy?" he'd ask, his tone hinting at the irritation towards the exile even needing to be done. "Paranoia, backstabbing, and dirty hands? Kriff, Drow, it's like I already been living that life." he would say with a laugh. "You must be scraping the bottom of the barrel if you're coming to me." he teased. "I'm in. I got the skills, I have the... moral positioning, and besides.. pretty sure the rest of the Order thinks I'm dark, so let's get it done. If they exile me, oh well.. Was kind of thinking of ditching them anyways. But.. I can do a lot of good for them on my way out. You know me, Drow.. I like my style."

"A ploy? I wouldn't say that. I did go against the Council and I was punished so the exile is real. But with the exile came a bit of a promotion. First Shadow, they're calling me now." Drow explained to the Padawan sitting across from him. He smiled when Drastus revealed that he was down to become a Shadow. It was a dangerous role and not one he'd recommend to very many Jedi. But he knew this position would be good for the lad before him. Something to appeal to that troublemaking, warrior side of him, at least.

"That being said, the exile is temporary. Once we defeat the Sith, I get to go home. So, I'm rather inclined to do that as quickly as possible. And to do that, I'm going to need you free to roam the galaxy without being under the supervision of a Knight or a Master all the time. So, I'm going to put in a recommendation for you to be Knighted before you join me. The Force knows why it hasn't happened yet but hopefully, my opinion still means something to the Grandmaster." Drow said, somewhat truthfully. While it was true that the Ishi Tib thought it was high time Drastus was knighted, he could also understand the trepidation that some had towards the young lad. He was prone to more...aggressive solutions than other Jedi, he certainly had a dark side, and had brushed with disobedience several times. But, it was that very fact that made Drow sure Drastus was ready for Knighthood - he had stepped into the darkness and emerged victorious from it many times.

"Oh and one more thing, Drastus. As far as any other Jedi or the galaxy at large is concerned, I'm in exile contemplating the consequences of my actions. You're not to tell anyone that we had this meeting. Not Hort'in, not Byron, no one." Drow made the Padawan promise, unaware that Byron had actually fallen to the Dark Side recently. Since his exile, news about the Jedi was slow to reach Drow's ears as he was much more focused on attacking the Sith.

"If you're comfortable with all that and comfortable with reporting directly to me, then I think we have a new Shadow onboard!" Drow said enthusiastically, raising a glass for Drastus to clink if he was so inclined. "Any targets you have in mind for the future. I'm always interested in hearing where people's minds are at."
