Red Right Hand

For five hundred years, the entire Galaxy knew that the Jedi were nothing but a myth, the remains of a foe long since vanquished.

For five hundred years, to rebel against the Sith Empire had been to die.

For five hundred years, the Sith had gone unchallenged.

In the last year, all of that had changed.

The Empire had fractured.

The Mandalorians had revolted.

The Jedi had returned.

Some said that this was going to be the end of the Empire. A dark time for the Sith where the sun that had risen with Andraste would finally set. They said that the Jedi and the Mandalorians were now unstoppable, unbeatable.

They whispered it in the cantinas, they broached the subject with trusted loved ones and they waited and watched as they thought their Empire was to crash down around their ears.

But there were still true Sith within the rank and file of the Empire. Fractures and divisions meant nothing when the True Enemy finally revealed themselves. The faithful, the opportunistic and the crazed all came and they all came because they knew, in their hearts, that there was only one way that their Empire didn't fade into the night.

There was only one way that the Sith Empire managed to endure and thrive once again and that direction, that path and that way was clear.

It was time for the Jedi to be eradicated, root and stem, once more.

Valar Dohaeris grinned behind the helmet of his heavy armor as the troops he and Vian were supervising continued their advance towards the Jedi Temple. It was no longer hidden and now they were just checking for traps before they reached the Temple.

He couldn't wait to burn it to the ground - preferably with the Jedi inside.

"Do you feel that in the air, Vian?" he asked his fellow Sith with a grin that was palpable even through words alone, "You must feel it... it's the Change. The Force quivers at our approach, at our actions, because it knows that once again the Jedi shall fall! And if they rise again? So be it. They will be cut down once again."

He grinned wider still as he held his two crossguard lightsabers at the ready, his shoto and blaster pistol holstered on the small of his back, out of sight under the robes of his armor. He was stood at the back of the advancing soldiers, letting them lead the way forwards. Already he was itching for a fight.

Vian Windrider had dreamed of this day since he built his first lightsaber. His mother spoke of his ancestor, Vash Windrider. A champion of the great Gauntlet. A member of Andraste's Black Hand, feared assassins who hunted Jedi and their allies to the ends of the galaxy. His former Master, spoke of them as well. The one true enemy of the Sith, the bringers of light, hope, and chaos.

He was lost until now, rudderless. He was faithful to the old way, to tradition. To the rule of the strong. But Vian watch the faithful wasted. Watched the slaves break away and grow stronger. Watched the powerful grow complacent and lazy.

Now there was a path. Direction. Reason for strength, for power. Now his enemy, their enemy, had returned. Now he marched on a Jedi temple.

"Do you feel that in the air, Vian" -

Of course he did, he'd felt it since they landed on this moon. The electrical charge of the light of the force. It rippled away from their presents. They the bolder, the moon the puddle of which they were cast toward. Each step he took caused another ripple cross his senses. The shift in the force, of their arrival, was indeed on the air.

"It's like nothing I've ever felt before. The light is literally running away." he replied to Valar.

Vian did not share his companions unnerving enthusiasm for the moment, but understood it quite well. They were both servants of the dark side. Powerful Sith. It was their purpose to end the Jedi.

The half breed Sith marched with Valar in the rear of the marching force. Garbed in his black heavy armor, concealed by his black cloak for the moment. Rapped by his left hand, the Sith's crossguard lightsaber. His right hand coiling the force around it self like a viper ready to strike. The two Sith were perhaps ten meters apart, eye open and senses reaching out.

Pho had come a long way since first being discovered by the Galactic Alliance and the Jedi. He was a padawan now and had some basic understanding of the force. He also had finally been given a sleek green bladed lightsaber for help in his path. While the Zabrak still wanted to craft one for himself, this was something he treasured. Beyond this new blade he had his usual blaster and vibroblade on him as well. The armor he wore was light and would let him be nimble here as well. Many were fleeing the base but just as many stayed behind to repel the Sith. No more would the Jedi be a hidden myth that lived in the shadows. Fear was to be pushed away and righteousness was to pave their path. Any light the Sith felt fleeing were those who were chosen to evacuate. Pho would stand strong against the bullies of the Sith.

"There they are." He said, staring ahead to what used to be his greatest fear. "We don't let them pass."

The Zabrak Jedi gripped the lightsaber hilt tightly in his left hand while his right hand clenched into a fist. He prepared himself in the force to defend himself against whatever might be coming. Pho was the light that would wash away the darkness. The Sith would be directly in front of them on this rocky planet about 20 meters away. Troops would meet troops while light would meet darkness. The Mandalorian guest would stand with the Jedi in this case as well. Pho ignited his green blade and stood strong, waiting for the Sith to make their move.

Radth had been preparing for this day for a long time. Since his training starting when he was a small child. It has all lead to this day where he will stand up to the Sith and show them that even the big bad boys at the top can be toppled. With him and his comrade, Pho; they will show that where there is darkness there is also light. Hopefully this will encourage others who hear of what takes place here to take a stand against the Sith and their Empire. To defeat the shadow to bring back the light. That is what Radth hoped.

With his blaster rifle clenched in his hands as he watched the Sith getting closer and closer, the Mandalorian will prepare himself for whatever will occur. The man's medium armor should suffice, as it was light enough that he can move about with ease. On top of his armor and rifle, the warrior also had a few frag grenades and a vibroblade. He had a few spare cartridges for his rifle as well. Radth was sure that he has enough to take on a couple of Sith.

Arming his rifle the Mando will look to the approaching Sith, "We will make sure they don't pass. Even they are not unbeatable. We will find a way to bring them down." He will tell his jedi companion. Gripping his rifle in his hands the warrior prepared himself for the fight that will be coming to them. Trusting that all of his training up until now will be enough, the man will purge himself of all emotion. There will be no rushing towards the Sith, he will wait for them to make the first move. Then he will act accordingly. As Pho ignited his green lightsaber, Radth will raise his rifle.

Valar let the soldiers fight the rebels because they weren't really important anymore - the only thing that was important now was the Mandalorian and the young Jedi who stood against them. Staring them down across the 20 meters, Valar grinned as he held his two main lightsabers in front of himself, their blades casting an ominous glow as he tilted his head slightly upon seeing them.

"A Jedi not old enough to buy beer and a Mandalorian acting as his sword and shield... I see a trend emerging." he noted easily as he began to step forwards, "I'll take the Jedi."

Suiting action to words, Valar began to circle to the side of Pho even as he advanced, moving forwards diagonally. His lightsabers were up in a defensive position and he had the Force ready and willing to answer his call - it was tingling against his skin as he held it tightly under his control to respond to whatever the Jedi did.

As for what Valar was doing? He was just advancing, silent and menacing. He could cackle, he could laugh or he could unnerve the Jedi but he didn't care to right now - right now he advanced on the young Jedi and prepared for the young creature to attack in haste.

Teenagers were not known for their good judgement after all.

"Guess the dull sword and tin shield are mine." he said with a sigh. "So be it."

Vian raised his saber hit and tapped the stud to bring the blade to life with a snap hiss in a crossing V. Red blade before him in a defensive posture. The black armored figure charged forth, slashing the 20 meter distance with every running step. His right hand still held the force, arm between the blade and his chest. Ready to wield the force the moment he willed it.

The Sith did no fancy tricks, no wide angles. Just running down the Mando, begging him to act. To fight. To prove he was more then just a tin man lead by a lost little girl.

The rocky surface of the planet was not amazingly smooth but it would serve well as a duel ground. Pho locked eyes with his apparent chosen opponent as the other Sith seemed to simply rush the Mandalorian. Such haste and hatred was typical of a Sith and was not the style the Zabrak Jedi has been taught. A Jedi defended. A Jedi used the light to guide their actions. He would allow the Mandalorian to handle the rushing madman making himself an easy target. The other Sith seemed more interested in a fight with the Jedi himself. As he had told his partner, they would not pass.

Silently, without taking his eyes off his foe, Pho burned a line into the rock with his lightsaber. He then stepped over it and presented a defensive stance. Fear played no part and he would do everything he could to prove that he was worthy of the Jedi. That he would not fall to the Sith or the darkness. They would have to kill or greatly maim the Jedi Padawan if they wanted to pass.

If the Sith circling towards Pho had still not acted by the time he marked the line, he would taunt the man. His free right hand would come up as if to say ‘come and get me’. The force built up like a bomb within him, ready to explode the moment the Sith tried anything.

The Mandalorian watched as one of the two Sith rushed towards him like a madman while the other went for his jedi comrade. Radth cocked an eyebrow, hidden by his helmet as he watched Vian rush towards him through his T visor. Was this di'kutla Sith not thinking clearly or did he think that the Mandalorian will be easy to take down? Well perhaps this is the day that the Sith will learn the hard way that even a non force sensitive can be difficult to cut down. And that they themselves are not invincible.

Radth started walking away from his jedi companion, moving to the jedi's right. As he moved the Mandalorian will start pouring bolts at his opponent. Firing a total of five bolts at the Sith, not rapidly but as quickly as he can get them out of his rifle. As he moved the warrior will move across the rocky landscape. The man will not say a word though, knowing that just him moving away from the Sith will be enough to anger him. His plan is a bit simple, but may be effective. As he moved and fired the five bolts, the warrior will keep his eyes on Vian carefully planning what to do next.

Just as the Sith will have to kill or maim the Jedi, Vian will have to do the same to Radth if he wants to get past the Mandalorian warrior.

With Vian going after the Mandalorian, all Valar had to do was attack the Jedi and make sure that the young xeno never lived to become a Jedi Master to threaten the Empire further. He was amused that the Jedi didn't attack him however as it allowed him to close the distance between the two of them entirely uncontested.

It was time to engage.

As he approached melee range at the same time as the tail end of the Jedi's mocking gesture to attack, Valar attacked with the Force. He woulds squeeze the Force around the young Jedi's neck, beginning to constrict his airway and flow of blood to the brain both with a noose made of the Force, a solid ring of the Force that wrapped itself around the Jedi's neck.

At the same time he swung his right-hand blade horizontally at the Jedi's waist - it was within easy blocking range of the Jedi's lightsaber (held in the Jedi's left hand) but without the attack being blocked or dodged, the blow would cut the Jedi cleanly in half. His left-hand blade stayed closer to his own body, prepared to defend to a counterattack he knew would be coming.

Vian continued to charge and cut distance. The Sith run directly at the Mandalorian as he tried to move away from the young Jedi. He assumed the soldier thought he was insane, that the Sith had a death wish, perhaps he was right. Perhaps the Sith assumed he was more powerful then he was.

Vian was already on the move before the Mando broke rank from his partner. When the first shot left the barrel the Sith shunted the force to his feet and exploded into the air. The first bolt met it's mark, tagging Vian his the hip. The next next grazed his boot. The others zinged into open air as the soldier was aiming for the Sith's center mass and didn't adjust as he was running.

As the shots continued to fire, Vian arced himself and flipped at the height of his leap to come crashing down with his blade as Radth fired his fifth shot. The slashing crossguard saber was before Vian's frame. Intending to cut the barrel of the rifle and the mandalorian's bracing hand holding the stock.

Radth was not aiming for a certain part of the Sith's body as the Acolyte charged at him like a mad animal. Blinded by the strong will to cut down the Mandalorian. Certainly more powerful than what he is. Radth in a ways can see the Sith's reasons, but he is an enemy on the battlefield. With that only one outcome with one of them walking away from the field alive. His shots were more so punk shots with the hope of getting some sort of result.

As the Sith leaped into the air in a show of acrobatics, the warrior watched as one of the bolts he fired tagged the Sith's unprotected hip. The next one grazing his boot. Okay it might have been better for the Mandalorian if the second shot actually connected. But hey! The shot that tagged the Sith's hip should give Radth some sort of advantage. Possibly throwing the Sith's balance off a bit.

As Vian arched his leap, Radth will take advantage of the Sith's vulnerability due to him being in the air; force leaps took time and those were precious moments the Mandalorian used to prepare his defense. He would simply side step quickly to the right as Vian descended down on the downward arch of his jump, avoiding the slashing blade all together. As the saber was committed into a slashing motion, Vian would leave his left flank vulnerable and still in airborne, would have little chance at a feasible defense. With a sinister scowl, Radith unleashed hell upon his opponent, firing the blaster carbine at near point blank range at the unguarded torso and unprotected hip region, total of 4 bolts.

To say Pho was ready would be too simple. He had been preparing to be attacked since he laid eyes on the Sith pair. The force had been welling up inside and the Jedi was ready to prove himself. Street rat to rebel to Jedi Padawan had taught him much about survival in a scrap. His hand was already in front of him when the Sith duel wielding lightsabers sent an attack. It would be easy to defend both of the attempts for Pho.

The Sith would have a hard time focusing an attack on the Jedi neck while swinging one lightsaber and pulling one back for Defense. Both hands would be full and occupied. Pho had to put very little effort into blocking the swing with his own blade simply meeting it and clashing the blades together. At the same time he stopped the choke from happening by slamming the force forward into the Sith’s chest and left lightsaber. The cross guard bits would be pressed into the his chest quickly and suddenly while the top of the blade would cut his chin wide open. On top of all of that, the Sith would be toppled over onto his back if he did not compensate. Pho had been building the force up and the powerful blast would easily break any focus the sith had for creating his choke on the Jedi.

His slash was blocked by the Jedi, as expected, but his Force attack was interrupted by the Jedi launching a Force push directly at him. Thankfully he was able to avoid any self-inflicted damage with the push of a button - his defensively held lightsaber retracted before it could come into contact with him. The Force push itself slammed into Valar but he helped limit the effect of it by not resisting - he was pushed back five meters, skidding into a ready crouch, his activated lightsaber still in front of him in his right hand.

Still felt like someone had punched him hard in the chest but between going with the attack and his armor, it wasn't going to slow him down too much.

Keeping his other saber deactivated, he pooled the Force to his hand in front of him as he launched himself forwards at his enemy again. Closing the distance, he would slash at his enemy's upper torso with his right saber, aiming to cut from his own left to his own right. Moving with the momentum of the slash, he would rotate to better face the Jedi's right side.

Vian had expected his armor to take the shots. It was a slight miscalculation that was burning a small trench into the side of his hip area and he pain was excruciating. The pain fed his anger, his will and thus the dark side.

As the Sith slashed downward he could see the Mandolorian move, he was quick. A bit quicker then expected. But he was also as blind to his ability as Vian, and like the half breed also made an error in his own attack. The mando stepped out of the way just as Vian's blade would of cut him apart as fired on the vulnerable Sith but low, blinded by the Vian's leg wound he aimed low and not for the head. The soldier was also at point blank and committed to finishing his clip on Vian.

The first shot hit Vian's hip again at a downward angle, the next his waist at a bit hight. At the same time Vian would shunt the power of the dark side to his left arm as he swung upward and left. Slicing from the Mandalorians left thigh, up through his pelvic area and into his guts.

Vian would fall then, letting the weight of himself carry the blade back downward on it's way to the ground with it's Master. He was nearly legless and out of the fight but there was still hope to live, to see the little Jedi die before his was dragged off the field. The Mandalorian had little possible chance but to die with honor, as a warrior and with Vian pained respect.

The Marauder watched closely as the Sith came down from his jump. As he was shooting at nearly point blank range. His aim was low, aiming for Vian's unprotected hips planning that if he could not kill him that he will at least make the Sith's legs useless. If he took out the man's hips there is no way that he would be able to stand. Taking him out of the fight. He still had enough rounds in the clip of his rifle to put into the Sith if called for. The Mandalorian calculated that he has at least ten rounds left in the clip currently seated in the rifle in his hands. More than enough to take the Sith out if he wanted to continue to fight despite having useless legs. That all depends on if the bolts will meet their mark or fail due to the Sith coming up with some sort of defense against them. But as Vian came down from his jump, it was clear that the Sith was more focused on taking down the Warrior than the bolts that the Mandalorian fired.

One bolt hit the Sith's hip again, making that limb useless now. The second at his waist. The third was a little more up from the second going into the Sith's abdomen, then the fourth finally into the lower part of his chest. This will stop Vian's attack. At least it should. But to make sure that Radth was out of the range of Vian's lightsaber. The Mandalorian will step back four steps and move to his right again. With the last two bolts hitting locations of the Sith's body that can be potentially fatal, the Sith might not be able to carry out his attack anyways.

As the Sith fell to the ground, the Mandalorian knew that he is the victor out of this battle. At least with this Sith. But to make sure that the Sith will not pull something off, Radth will fire two bolts at the Sith. Not really aiming for anything in particular since the Sith is down, "Ret darjetii." He will say as Radth left the Sith where he laid, but before he left the Sith the Mandalorian warrior will make sure to take Vian's crossguard lightsaber to take back to his people as proof that he had taken the Sith down.

The Warrior held his rifle in his right hand as he placed the lightsaber on his belt with his left hand. Then a thought occured to him. Is his jedi comrade still alive? He will wonder. Radth didn't have to look far to spot Pho, and his opponent charging at him. Kriff, he thought that the little jedi had taken the other sith out. But it appeared that he will have to help his friend now as the one that Pho was facing appeared to be focused on taking the jedi down. The Mandalorian hesitated when he saw that the angle he was from the other sith would make it difficult to get a shot in without the bolt being deflected back at Pho, or shooting the jedi himself. The Mando will quickly start moving to his right and forward in a semi half circle to try getting around the two fighting force sensitives. As he moved Radth will keep a close eye on Valar incase the Sith decides to come after the Mandalorian to get revenge for him taking his partner out of the fight.

@Taz
You forgot to mention the last two bolts out of the four that I fired at you in my last post. So that is an autohit with those two bolts. I will let you decide if they are fatal enough to kill Vian.

As the moment of pressure released and the Sith was pushed away, Pho readied himself to defend once more. He watched as the enemy charged to his unarmed side, what some might say is the weak side in a battle like this. That was a typical strategy and one the Zabrak Jedi had practiced since before even knowing the Jedi existed. His own body turned to face the Sith's new angle, invalidating any angle advantages with a simple pivot on his feet. A slash was typically blocked with the blade but Pho had other plans for this incoming Sith foe. The green blade was thrust forward towards the dark one's chest in a simple defensive action.

While the blade moved forward into the charging Sith, his right hand would come up to take the lightsaber slash. It wasn't going to feel good but it would be worse for his foe. Valar was aggressive with his strike and moving into Pho quickly. The saber clashed with his phrik armored forearm which sent a few sparks but the pressure behind the slash would not last long enough to slice through the armor. Dedication to this aggressive move had made a defensive strike simple and critically effective. While Pho took a bit of burning pain, his lightsaber would have to be going completely through the Sith's chest for that hit to connect. If for some miracle the Sith survived the stabbing motion, that would cause the attack to stop as well. Though it would take quite an act of the gods to save him from his own recklessness.

"Fethin..." Pho blurt out as he felt the pain of the attack on his right forearm before stopping himself from cursing out more.

Valar could feel his partner wilting in the Force but he ignored it - he could not afford to be crying over his partner when he was in battle himself.

Pho's thrust with his saber was easy to see and was exactly why Valar had not engaged with his second saber yet. He moved his left hand blade underneath his right arm, igniting it as he moved it, his blade forming to bat Pho's thrust away from his chest to Valar's right, pushing it away from where it could actually harm the Sith and physically barring it from coming back in on him, the blades locking to Valar's right side.

Valar's right blade pressed harder against Pho's gauntlet, the lightsaber had been blocked by the gauntlet initially but with the continued pressure, the saber would cut through the damaged armor, likely all the way through the arm and into the Jedi's chest as the Jedi had done nothing to move the blade.

Aware that he was no longer going to be able to count on his partner to keep the Mandalorian busy, and still wanting to keep moving, Valar would continue to move to Pho's right, a motion that would aid his continued slash through the Jedi's arm and help the slash carry on into the Jedi's chest, while still keeping the Jedi between himself and the Mandalorian so the non-Force sensitive would not have a clear line of sight on him.

A complete surprise to the attack came when the Sith cut through his own arm in order to block the defensive thrust. Mistakes were made and that was apparently the only logical way to not get stabbed. Pho almost felt bad for the guy. Corrupted by the darkness and now maimed for his aggressiveness against the light. It was fitting yet also sad. The Zabrak Jedi would not capitalize on the opening to finish him off. That was not the Jedi way nor would it be Pho's way. Instead he deactivated his lightsaber while pushing hard against the injured Sith with a force push.

"Leave this place, Sith." He said, glancing to his Mandalorian partner who would likely be taking aim now. "Find the light. Seek a new path."

Pho would not kill the man if he left and would hope the Mandalorian wouldn't shoot him in the back. He remained ready to resume the fighting if needed but would not make an aggressive move yet. For now he would leave the door open for this Sith to flee and perhaps find a better path. As doubtful as it was, perhaps it would work. A true Jedi had not been seen in centuries, and Pho was not going to let the Galaxy down by being as bad as the Sith.

Radth watched as Pho defeated his opponent. Cutting Valar's own arm off. Well from what he can see anyways. Did the man feel bad for the Sith? Hell no. He is an enemy and a Sith. Radth had no sympathy for Valar at all. He aimed his rifle at the Sith as the Zabrak pushed him away with a force push. He waited for the Jedi to do the finishing blow that will kill Valar. For him to rush after the pushed Sith and run him through or something. But then a thought occurred to the warrior. What if the Jedi was not planning to kill this murdering Sith? If he let him live and allowed him to walk off the battlefield there is a very good chance that the Sith will just continue what he was doing before he came here.

The Mandalorian will aim his rifle at the Sith as he is being pushed back, his suspicions confirmed as Pho spoke, "You may be willing to let him live Jedi. But I am not." And with that he will fire four bolts at Valar, aiming for the upper half of his body. Did he care if the Jedi would approve of what the Mandalorian Marauder did? Nope. He will not care. Not one bit. The Sith is an enemy and there is only one good Sith. And that is a dead one.

The Zabrak needed to learn that not all enemies can be saved or persuaded to take a different path. The Sith are one of those enemies.
