Vanquo. It was...quite nice, actually. Temperate, with beautiful mountains covering most of the landmasses. Kal had never heard of this world before, until he'd come across an old case file that nagged at him a bit. A small group of pirates operating out of the area, a strike on an Alliance ship traveling in the area being the cause of the report, had used some interesting gear on their boarding and attack. It reminded the Ranger about some gear he knew Mandalorians wore and used with their unique armor. The gear seemed new, if shoddy, and as far as Kal knew there wasn't any place in the galaxy that currently made that kind of gear, though he never pried into the history of his co-workers to truly find out.
That's why, when he heard about this, Kal had contacted fellow Ranger Roland, who was a Mandalorian himself. Standing on a cliff overlooking the area the report thought the pirates were based out of. A viewfinder in his hand, he was scanning the woods and mountainside for anything that looked out of place. When Roland arrived, he'd speak to him while still keeping his vigil. "Sorry if this turns out to be a whole lot of nothing, but something about this doesn't sit well with me. I figured you wouldn't want some crappy knockoffs of Mandalorian gear floating around out there, tarnishing your names and reputation." From what Kal knew of Mandalorians, they took their armor and gear very seriously. Though, he wasn't fully sure, so he hoped that Roland didn't think he was overreacting. If this was something worth doing, then he'd back up his friend no matter where he decided to go.
