Location - The ISS Splendour, Main Lounge
Planet - Naboo

The green jewel that was Naboo practically opened up beneath the Odyssey Class Courier, which cut like a dagger across the morning sky. On the bridge, Dar Appia - Vice President at the Czerka News Network, and former Senator for Coruscant - sat in his chair, just off to the left of the Pilot Droid. Matte Black, the Droid was a former Imperial Piloting Unit, purchased second hand from a former Czerkan Executive, repurposed with a more ‘pleasant’ personality.

”ETA - 10 Minutes Sir, shall I have your speeder made ready?’’ it stated, its voice at odds with its appearance, optimistic and chirpy compared to the black carapace in which it rested. Dar shook his head, indicating on the holomap that they would be landing closer to the designated area that he had initially planned. Without a further word he stepped out of the bridge and headed for the exit lounge, placing on his official dress as he did so.

In an attempt to stay more in tune with the local aesthetic, Dar had opted to not wear his ‘Core World’ apparel, instead going for a more rustic dress sense. A simple tabard with a woolen robe over the top, the metal ‘data tubes’ tucked into his top pocket. Most importantly, he was unarmed - after all, it was something of a counter productive endeavor to meet someone you wished to make an ally of, then shoot them.

With a soft hiss, the ship touched down and lowered its ramp, Dar stepping out to meet his acquaintance...

Naboo was one of those places that was so comforting, so in tune with the Light Side of the Force, that it was a natural haven for Jedi. And indeed, Naboo had been a world under the protection of the Jedi for some time now. The people of Naboo, however, generally went about their daily lives as if the Jedi were not there, which suited the Jedi just fine. One Jedi in particular was pleased with this arrangement as well as she sat in the shade at an outdoor table in Theed, Naboo.

Deashe Devoter was a Jedi, but since the death of her parents and now the disappearances of the two people she was closest too, she had begun to be more active in the civilian side of her life that more people knew about than her Jedi side-- specifically regarding the vast fortune that had been left to her in her parents' wills. While Dea didn't have much experience with economics and business, she did have a sharp instinct for investments, the kind of instinct that had allowed the Devoter family to become rich and influential on Chandrila in the first place. This instinct had led Dea to keep her estate's shares in various businesses as they were, though she did not dare to meddle with Imperial-backed endeavors lest her money be traced and her identity as a Jedi be discovered. She had already made the decision to stay away from Chandrila and the physical Devoter estate most of the time, until the planet was liberated from the Sith.

So here she was on Naboo, sipping a fine juice and dressed as beautifully as she often did, her hair sleek and styled up, a form-fitting dress on her body and heeled slippers on her feet, awaiting the arrival of a figure she had contacted several days ago for a discussion on business. The Czerka News Network didn't seem as tightly controlled by the Empire as its rival HNN was, so perhaps she could turn that to her and the Jedis' advantage. Or, at the very least, she could maybe use the shares she had in the company to get them to show more positive things going on the Galaxy.

Hope was something the Galaxy desperately needed right now.

Ever since the Civil War on Naboo it was fair to say that the idyllic nature of the planet had been somewhat eroded. Dar shook his head as he looked around him, seeing small yet distinctive plumes of smoke rising from some of the nearby buildings as he approached his guide. The Jedi sure did a good job looking after this place, he scoffed to himself. Appearing to notice his modicum of shock, the Guide - a member of the Naboo Royal Security Force* - offered a slight apology. ’’Welcome to Theed your Grace. My apologies,’’ he began, gesturing to some of the war materiels still scattered about the docks ’’hardly the Naboo you would have been expecting.’’

Dar offered a smile, it was clear the regime was doing its best to restore order after the civil incursions - despite the overwhelming lack of support they had coming in from the Jedi - their apparent overlords. They continued their idle chatter as they made their way through to the meeting place, just off from the docks - a modest looking table in one of the slightly less wartorn areas of Theed. Thanking his guide, who saluted and walked off - Dar approached and took a seat with well practiced ease.

”Dar Appia, late of the Senatorial Office of Coruscant.’’ he said, introducing himself ’’You must be the Devoter inheritor yes? Your resemblance to your mother is uncanny.’’ he finished, the usual platitudes having been offered. He placed his Czerka News Network business card on the table, it's slightly holographic surface shimmering as it revealed his name and position. ”How have you found Theed since the Civil War?’’
