Republic Infantry Armor is the official uniform of the Republic Army. It is standard protocol to be worn at all times when on duty.

Legality

Republic Infantry Armor is legal in all systems, and can be seen on Republic planets. Though the condition and uniformity in style among the troops is up to the division or company in charge.

Type and Coverage
Type: Medium Armor

Coverage:
  • Chest: Duraplast Breastplate
  • Back: Duraplast Backplate
  • Right Arm: Duraplast shoulder and upper arm.
  • Left Arm: Duraplast shoulder and upper arm.

Functions

Function 1: Mag-Boots
  • Magneticboots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.
Function 2: Thermal Undersuit
  • Thermal undersuits wick away or reflect thermal energy for brief periods of time. They are not nearly as effective as a suit that firefighters would wear. Most commonly used to protect soldiers from flamethrower weapons or short bursts of extreme heat, and are only good for 1-2 posts of exposure depending on intensity. They are useless against blasters.

Not saying it is bad. But as a sailor dam wearing that will suck balls. Odds of it being used are slim and the scout hud is me for a sailor utterly unneeded. This in fact screams marine not navy.

All so thermal suit would be my preferred option over a scout hud. Since in combat there is all this fire and burning but not much need to see far inside a ship.

So as I said this screams Marin not navy.

My only question is why would a naval soldier need armor? If you look at naval troops a lot of the time they are wearing coveralls or some sort of naval officer uniform. This like Andrew said, seems like something a marine would wear.

Also the picture screams advanced warfare and not star wars.

Yeah, looking back at this, you might be right. I based it off of the Helmet, and tried to find something that matched the color. I'll probably retool this as infantry armor instead.

You don't have to fill all the slots either. Soldiers don't need to be weighed down with a bunch of stuff they'll probably never have a use for.

Updated the description to fit feedback, and replaced picture.
