The rumble was perpetual going through steel and bone as the massive transport plowed itself through the layers of atmosphere plunging downward towards the planet Thyferra. Inside of the ship Adrion sat his whole demeanor showed that of a man who had lost more than he could give. Eyes glazed his hand held a worn and crumpled picture of a woman and child. Putting the picture slowly into a pocket on his person he looked up. It was the same scene as before an empty room containing chairs and aisle ways dust coated everything.

Breathing lightly Adrion looked out the window the flames caused by friction had receded the world took on a new light blue sky and green world below. Above him suddenly a new noise crackled to life an automated message began to play over the intercom "Good evening crew-members and customers currently being transported the landing zone for planet _THYFERRA_ is only a few minutes away. If you would please take time now to prepare for departure the transition from ship to enclave will be reduced by 30 seconds thank you for choosing our shipping charter HAPPY TRAVELS."

On the word "THYFERRA" Adrions eyes glinted with a strange spark a whirlwind of life shot through his person. His breathing increased his cheeks flushed he rose from his chair sending a cascade of dust from his clothing. 2 weeks he had been on this ship hardly changing position he'd run out of food by the first week water by the tenth day. Finally after 2 years of traveling from the furthest reaches of the outer rim and the large expanse of the republic he'd returned to the Shades. Moving carefully from his seat he walked down the aisle ways stumbling slightly but he managed to make it into the hallway leading to the ships exit bay.

Holding on to a handrail he rode out the rest of the descent to Thyferra. The shaking shop of the shop sent Adrion to his knees gasping for air as the rumbling that had pervaded the entire ship shuttered to a stop. A single man walked by not even looking at him he was a crew member. The crew had kept mostly to themselves on this journey and Vespin was merely a stowaway at best to them even though he had payed for charter. Hauling himself up wearily he slowly made his way to the exit and out into the dock.

Several hours had passed until finally he managed hitchhike a ride to the Shade enclave. At his limit Adrion managed to walk past the entrance falling and desperately crawling he grasped onto the nearest person he could find and with strain whispered to the man " Get Cain... bring him..." stopped mid-sentence Adrion collapsed from his exhaustion unconscious.

Cain had felt disturbances and ripples flitting through the Force. They had been getting stronger all day. At last he felt what he needed, a familiar prescence touching down on Thyferra, the harsh jungle world home of the hidden Shade enclave. Cain stood up and put his cloak on, as he left the enclave taking the opportunity to practice masking his prescence as best he could - a technique he had recently learnt through much study. He went to the small settlement where there was a spaceport, personally surprised that anything had settled here for pleasure, the harsh climate and jungles making this the ideal place for the enclave to hide on. It turned out the man whom Adrion had "hitched" a ride from was in fact Cain himself, and as Adrion staggered out of the speeder, which Cain was allowing another padawan to park, he walked up to the man, around the same age as he was, and managed a smile, lifting him up onto his shoulder and carrying him inside, with surprising ease.

He placed him in the medical bay and sat at his side, tentatively revitalising him with the Force.

"Awaken, Adion, and welcome back," he said.

One eye opened looking up at the man his vision was blurred but he could recognize that voice anywhere. Adrion smiled for the first time in years "Cain I've been gone too long you look different." he remarked looking fully at the man besides him. He felt the strength of the force flowing off of him like a current of warm air. Raising himself up he sat woozy but offered his dusty thin hand to shake. "It was you on the speeder wasn't it?"

((How long ago did he leave?))

"Yes, Adrion, it was," he said, impressed he realised in his weakened state. Cain continued, "tell me of your travels, it has been many years, you must have accomplished much indeed."

(( 9 to 10 years))

"These years have been long and hard for me I've accomplished much but if I could have done it again I would've stayed here." Adrion sighed the story of his travels where painful ones. "Nine years ago I left this place to return to my home-world on the outer rim. After a year and a half of travel I found it the destroyed husk that it was. I'm not sure if you remember me telling you about my peoples extermination there but thats old news now. Anyways the group that had originally destroyed my home was there and they had disintegrated into mobs instead of the terrible armies that had conquered the worlds of my home world system. I'm sad to say that I avenged my people and destroyed those that caused me harm. I found no pleasure or sense of justice in what I did but I couldn't stop even the most pathetic of them was wiped away. I feel sorrow for this now and ask forgiveness."

Adrion continued after taking a few breaths " I left then and tried to put that sin behind me and went to a faraway outer rim world where I had a family." Reaching inside a pocket of his clothes he pulled out the worn picture of the woman and child and handed to Cain. "Sadly to find a job to support a family on the Rim is almost impossible unless your willing to kill for money. I could never do this and so borrowed money from crime lords. Debts collected and threats were placed I tried to leave but couldn't find a way. Eventually the collection officers came by where they took what they saw as a fit exchange for money my wife and child's lives. I had slowly lost my connection to the force and I was not prepared to fight as I once was. They killed my family... and something happened. In my rage I slaughtered them with the force and didn't stop killing until I had left even the crime lords dead. Terrified with what I had done I escaped that world and have been trying to make my way back here for two long years. I needed to return here obviously the force is still strong with me even if I didn't know it. I need the shades guidance or I could lose control again and it might have dire consequences for many more than the few I killed last time." Finished Adrion looked at Cain "I wish I had never left here."

((Nine's okay...he just didn't spend that long with the Shade to begin with.))

Cain listened with interest. It was a sad tale indeed, the man had lost much. He had grown too. Before he had left he was around the age that Cain would have begun guiding him through trials for Knighthood, but he had not had the chance. It seemed his journey in itself was a terrible ordeal, and he did seem genuinely in search of redemption. Cain could grant him that and he spoke, "you are more than welcome to return," he said, "and as for guidance. Well, control is the most important aspect to the path we walk, controlling both light and dark, and becoming slave to neither. It is difficult, but achievable. You should know of the Shade code, tell me how you interpret it."

" I remember the code and though their is no perfect interpretation it is only wrong if I don't believe it to be true. My emotion makes me, Emotion should neither control us or be controlled by us it is part of what defines us as a person it allows us to reach new levels of maturity and understanding."

"My knowledge guides me, Learning and education strengthens our minds allowing us to make better decisions in life such as choosing the easier path to your destination though experience is almost always the best guide and it gets better the older you get. An educated mind with plenty of experience can use the force in new and greater ways to gain an advantage in any situation. I guess it is a lucky thing I'm not a young child anymore." Adrion chuckled to himself

"My passion drives me, passion is inner strength the want and need to complete a function it fuels our ambitions, desires, our very own will to live. A man without passion would be succeeded by a man with passion that is a fact of life."

"My strength enables me, Strength gives us the power to uphold that which we value our decisions and loved ones. Those without strength but carry knowledge have less chance of making their dreams come true. With strength one can both protect and destroy. Strength is the tangible power behind our actions it is fueled by passion, controlled by knowledge, and drawn forth by emotion.

"My harmony balances me, Within this universe their rests the a solid harmony between light and dark, life and death, one can't exist without the other. A man who draws upon the light to enact it's righteousness ignores the fact that for the good that he creates around him a great darkness will be formed that will negate his power. The stronger the flame the darker the shadows if one was to make an example of it in real life. With our path the middle road we draw upon both light and dark equalizing it ourselves we are neutral in our ability to choose both sides."

"I walk the shaded path, we are neither afraid of the dark or blinded by the light our path exists in everlasting twilight. The choice of many paths not tethered by laws or dogmas are open to us. We embrace both dark and light and use them together without upsetting the natural balance that is life. The shade both the giver and the taker."

Adrions speech of his interpretation of the code had left him drained but the spark that had entered his eyes had not diminished. "I believe in this until perhaps something changes my outlook on life but for now this is my interpretation of the code make of it what you will."

Cain smiled, Adrion had always been eloquent, and intelligent, "very well thought out, my old friend. I doubt I could criticise anything there, no matter how long I spent scrutinising it. You have grown a lot over your journey. I was wondering, have you still got your lightsaber? And which of the forms do you practice now?"

((Say why you practice it too please))

Adrion unclipped the Saber from his belt and held it on the flat of his palm. The weapons casing had been worn with use but held the polished sheen of great care gleaming upon it. With some pride he announced "I practice only one form Ataru the form of Aggression during these times. I've developed the form and my own body's physical nature to a more personalized style though this is only a step on the path to mastering the form."

"The Reason why I practice this form is for the memories of my loved ones. If I had not let my foolish notion of already having control of the blade I might have held the crime lords collectors off long enough for my family to escape. Ataru's aggression can be used as a ward to protect those that are weak." Adrion furrowed his brow as he spoke. "This is perhaps the most peaceful answer I can give."

"Perhaps," said Cain thoughtfully, "but how does the nimble and quick nature of Ataru relate to you personally? have you found that it works?"

"Ataru is the only form that I truly felt would benefit my own needs in physical combat. I am not an automaton whose sole ability is strength and endurance. My body was not built for that my build has always been lean, muscles wiry and flexible. Low body weight and a good sense of balance which I've honed over the years has given me a more natural tendency to take on a quick and acrobatic form of sword play. Ataru has developed my abilities and pushed my strengths to new levels. However I must admit the style I have chosen has given me weaknesses that could be exploited but with experience and quick-wit I believe that these hindrances of my style can be overcome." Adrion said in answer.

"The style works well so long as the fight does not drag on in the event that such a fight is forced upon myself to compensate for it I would use strike and retreat tactics [guerilla warfare] so I would not become worn out and open to strong attacks."

"Indeed," said Cain, genuinely impressed by the man. He continued, probing him for clues about his potential, and how much he had already fulfilled, "tell me, what techniques of the Force have you learned and studied?"

Without hesitation Adrion spoke."The powers I've learned so far are Force push in all its variants, pull, speed, jump, cloak, sense, sight, listening, telekinesis, telepathy, battle meditation, precognition, stun, heal, persuade, mind trick, lightning, grip, drain, protection, levitation with varying degrees of success, and nearly every technique focusing upon the body."

"Some of these powers I've barely had the chance to use while others I hold great expertise if not mastery. While I was away I put many years of study into learning these techniques and the main problem that I and any other force user will always have will be the ways these powers are put to use, the morals behind the user."

"Well, that is indeed a fair arsenal," Cain said impressed. He felt truth behind the man's words, and was reluctant to question him about it. He had changed a lot indeed over the years, but, it seemed, for the better. He had a little more to ask him, however, "your lightsaber," said Cain, "did you craft it yourself?"

"Aye that I did." Adrion held out the sabers handle in the palm of his hand. The handle was worn and scratched from years of usage. "This blade has served me well and I will continue to use it for awhile longer." He ignited the dark blue blade and sent it circling in the air with a flick of his wrist. Watching it fall irregularly he caught the blade deftly with his right hand. After catching the blade a concerned expression formed upon his face. "This weapon is unbalanced... probably from internal damage in the support of the casing. I'll fix this in my free time if the materials can be arranged." Adrion said while shifting his attention back to cain.

"Of course," said Cain, "there are many parts in the stores. All of the Order's members are permitted to help themselves. But now we must think about your future. Is your return really what it appears to be, or would you leave again in the future?"

Adrion nodded he would collect the supplies he needed later. "I could never have another family again though that doesn't wipe away the chance for love to enter my life. The Shade order is all I have left to me I will stay with your faction for many years until I either die or am unwillingly removed [Captured not expelled by the order.] and can't rejoin." With a smile on his face "I'm sorry but you'll be seeing my ugly mug for a very long time."

Cain grinned warmly and said, "I think I might just be able to bear that. And having said that, I feel it is time I formally introduced you into the Shade Order, Knight Adrion Vespin."

"I am honored I will try my best to uphold my rank as a honorable, just knight of your order and help others both lower and higher than myself in status find peace and harmony within themselves." Adrion lowered his head if his condition was better he would've knelt but it would take a couple of days of recovery before such advanced movement was a capable to him. Earlier when he had flicked the lightsaber into the air had tired him out immensely.
