The Deep Core was awash with problems as the galaxy seemed to drift further and further into war.

Constancia has been seized by a military dictatorship, taking the planet and its peoples prisoner to an ideal and ideas alien to its inhabitants. Alien, and unwanted. Such as it is that a great popular movement has risen up in defiance of the Duce Emiliana Zerato, the self-imposed leader of Constnacia. At first mere protests quashed quickly by violence, the movement has renewed itself, taking to the streets to take back their planet. Even now though the popular movement faces an uphill battle, even as they push close to the Duce's palace, ready to take back their world and their freedom. Seeking out the nearby Jedi Order's assistance, two Jedi Knights now join the revolution in its final push to save their planet from the forces of darkness.

Appearing to the two Jedi via holo-communicator, Vollen Shai's figure buzzed in to Austin Wolfe and Fiona MacBheathain, who had been sent to assist,

"... By all reports the Duce leads with an iron fist, arbitrary detention, executions, this is the chance for the people of Constancia to take back their lives. Their freedom. I'm sure you both sympathise with them as much as I do. Good luck out there, help them end this conflict. Somehow, it has to be done" Vollen gave them an uneasy smile as he finished his briefing. This was no small task ahead of them, but for the good of the galaxy they had to succeed,

"May the Force be with you, and all of Constancia"

"Thank you, Councillor," Austin replied after the briefing, shutting off his handheld holoprojector and replacing it on his belt. Technically, the two Jedi had come to the revolution rather late — the rebellion had already gained plenty of traction and been victorious in many battles. Today was only the final showdown that would spell out the fate of Constancia. Either Duce Emiliana Zerato would fall, or she would be victorious and reign supreme with an even more terrible clutch on the people. If her ambition was great enough, her rule could even form in to a new empire that would encroach on other nearby systems — and that was something the Jedi would not allow.

As the two Jedi finished corresponding to the Councillor, they turned to the main chamber of the rebellion's headquarters where the war generals were gathered. They nodded at their arrival. "Welcome, master Jedi. We're so thankful the Order is sympathetic to our fight. Please, join us as we make our final preparations." Smiling in return, Austin drew close to the strategy table. Before them lay a holoprojector that displayed a detailed map of the city. "With our current resources and strength, a full assault to breach the main fortress would be impossible. We were planning a host of month-long guerilla assault plans, but the arrival of Jedi Austin Wolfe and Logan Pryce has given us a new opportunity." The general pressed a few buttons, the holoprojector zooming in onto the fortress itself. "Our forces can create a distraction elsewhere in the city, destroying their weapons manufacturing plant and barracks. This will draw most of the Duce's forces away from the fortress, allowing the Jedi to sneak inside and make their way to the throne room." The rest of the commanders nodded their heads sagely and murmured favourably.

Austin turned to Logan once the plans were explained. "Sounds good to me. It will be easier for myself and Knight Logan to get past what's left of their sentries and get to the root of this. I suspect that Duce Zerato's forces will quickly surrender once she is apprehended." Austin then awaited Logan's input, seeing if he would also approve or have anything else to add before they began the final battle for Constancia's freedom.

Unlike his companion, Logan only gave the Councillor a brief nod in response. He was lost in his own thoughts and emotions-it was his first true mission outside of the Academies, and truth be told, his first foray into the wider galaxy away from the cloistered protections and sheltering of the Order. He was still grappling with what that meant, exactly. He could do anything, anywhere, in theory, no longer bound by the shackles of his former slavery or by the tenants of the Jedi. It was a kind of radical freedom he was not used to-and was not yet quite sure how to handle.

Still, this is not really different from the mines, is it? Those who oppress-and those who are oppressed. The only difference is that you have a chance to turn the tide. And even if you’re still unsure about where you fit into the Order or your place in the world, you can be sure about that.

Much like the conversation with the Councillor, Logan listened silently by Austin’s side, trailing him behind him ever so slightly as he moved toward the holoprojector. He must have looked odd, being dressed not in the traditional robes of the Order or clad in armor, simply the modest cloak and coverings of his Jedi Stealth Armor, which made him look more like a common street scavenger than someone who could conjure up powers unfathomable to the average denizen of the galaxy.

It seems to be a solid plan.” He paused for a moment, then added, somewhat awkwardly “Be careful.”

He could have mentioned that had a basic ability to conceal himself with the Force which might make things easier, but he felt reluctant to share that information with those who could not understand its complexities. He had learned from quite a young age to not tell others too much about yourself, until it was absolutely necessary. It did no good, and set other’s expectations too high. Best be modest and surprise them, than boastful and disappointment them.

It’s not like you would have any real advice to offer anyway. You have absolutely no frame of reference for any of this, military tactics or strategy. That was kind of glossed over in the training.

Turning to glance at his more experienced partner, he waited expectantly for his lead. After all, with his experience he would know how to handle this situation better than he could...right?

In retrospect, it was in fact much better to be wearing more covert attire for this particular assignment than the field medic robes that Austin had donned. However, thankfully these robes were very rarely worn by other members of the Order, and likely not as immediately recognized as Jedi robes. Looking to the Knight, Austin nodded in approval as Logan had nothing more to add for the moment. His concern was lost on the general however, who let loose a great laugh and slapped a hand onto the Knight's shoulder. "We're off to blow up as much as we can! We'll make sure we're careful when we do it," he replied, a twinkle in the man's eye. It was then settled — the Jedi were to be transported in an LK-6800 speeder truck that would take them as close to the main fortress as possible. Seated in the enclosed cargo space, the two Jedi had some time before they were dropped off and truly began their mission.

"We will need to keep away from often traveled hallways in the fortress," Austin began. Pulling out his handheld holoprojector, he illuminated the cargo space with the sky-blue glow of a map. Having been obtained before the dictator took control in the first place, it was coming in handy now that they were wresting control from Emiliana. "And we will need to keep as quiet as possible. How experienced are you in speaking telepathically?" the Jedi Master queried. Though he hadn't practiced himself since he worked with Master Halan on Vrogas Vas, the doctor was quite confident that he had retained his proficiency in the skill.

Sitting in the dark, enclosed confines of the cargo space, about to head into a literal warzone, Logan was a little bit nervous. It had been years since he had actually fought someone for real, with the chance for death, and at times like these he was grateful for his focus on Shien. He thought it curious how many Jedi spent so much time perfecting their forms to combat Sith...not realizing that 99.99999% of the Galaxy could not call upon the Force or wield a lightsaber.

Then, the other Jedi spoke, interrupting his quiet ruminations.

“I can move quietly. My skills with telepathy are…”

Logan responded, reflecting back to the brief lessons he had received in the area and the trouble he had. Telepathy required one to open one’s self up to a fairly intimate degree, something he was not...great at...to begin with. It was one of the classes he did not do well in.

“...not exceptional. I do, however, have some skills that make talking quietly not much of an issue on my end, at least.”

Listening intently as his companion replied, Austin was happy to hear that he was able to move quietly. He would have assumed so, based on Logan's use of the stealth armour, but it was still good to hear the Jedi say it. "Oh?" the Master replied, hearing the Knight speak of certain skills that allowed him to speak quietly. "Do explain, if you would. I take great enjoyment in learning of the many ways the Force can aid us. Personally, I have more experience in telepathy, though admittedly I have never attempted it on assignments such as these."

Austin paused for a moment, wondering whether the stress and concentration needed to sneak around would inhibit their ability to speak through their minds. Perhaps it would weaken a mental connection, breaking up their words and possibly even relaying a host of other thoughts and words than were intended for the recipient. It seemed in situations such as these, a proper Force Meld would be more useful — albeit, much more...intimate, with memories and visions of each other's past filtering through to each other. Austin had only attempted a Meld once before in the Kyber crystal caves beneath Jedha — and being surrounded by the Kyber crystals it produced...interesting effects indeed.

The speeder truck jostled a bit as it hovered over something unstable. Though they were certainly not at their destination just yet, it was likely they would be arriving quite soon.

Logan listened to Master Wolfe, a cryptic look on his face as he debated how much he should reveal about his abilities. They were relatively rare among the Jedi, he knew, he had only met one or two who had something similar and only then in passing, and he had to mostly teach and figure it out for himself. And he the more people that knew about them, the more that would be expected of him, especially in these dangerous times. He began to regret saying anything at all, but he suspected the Master would know if he held back or lied, so he decided it would best to be straightforward.

“I can manipulate light and sound, at a close distance and for a short period of time, to be invisible,” he revealed cautiously “it is different from a mind trick, it will work on both droids and organics.”

He decided against going into more detail. It is not as if he could describe the complexities enough to the other to teach him it in the short period of time that they had anyway. Best to keep it simple.

Hopefully that will be good enough to speak without having to result in melding or telepathy...I don’t like the idea of someone else being around in my head. It’s the one place I have to myself.

The Jedi Master looked at his companion for the assignment with a measure of curiosity. It appeared that Austin had pressed on a particularly sensitive topic for Logan, one that he was exceptionally hesitant to speak about. The cryptic expression the Knight carried was not overlooked by the doctor — although Logan eventually decided to speak at some length anyway. Upon hearing of the ability, Austin's eyebrows raised in surprise and he nodded in approval.

"Ahh, cloaking one's physical form with the Force. Now that is a rare gift indeed — I have seldom heard of Jedi making use of such an ability." Smiling and descending into deep thought, the two spoke little else for the rest of their short trip through the city. Austin made use of this time to draw the Force within himself and center his being in the Light. They had a challenging task ahead of them, and likely many difficult decisions to make along the way. The doctor had faith though — the Force would guide them, just as it had in all things.

The speeder truck slowed to a halt, and the driver banged twice on the wall separating himself from the cargo area. Sliding open the bay door, the Jedi stepped out into the clear afternoon sunlight. The streets of the city were filled with citizens milling about their daily business, oblivious of what was to take place that very day. Thankfully, the rebellion was fighting for the people — Austin knew they would go to great lengths to make sure they were safe from the attack. The speeder truck drove off once the two Jedi had exited, and they were left several feet away from a closed and presumably locked door at the base of the fortress. At the door stood a single guard*, and a camera* also surveyed the area. It was time for them to act.

Austin decided to make the first move, walking down the street and in front of the security door as though he were but a civilian going about his business. However, as he passed in front of the guard, he discreetly opened a palm and shot out a blinding Force Flash, designed to knock out the camera temporarily as well as disable the guard to allow Logan to take him out. However the Knight decided to act, hopefully this man had a keycard or other such means to access the door. The doctor was hoping the two Jedi wouldn't have to pry it open or scale some excessively large wall.
