This is only an idea, but we should have a standard currency system. We could use credits. Also a trading system
Ok so here is my idea.
When ever you post a good post you get credits. Admins determine it. You use credits to buy weaponry and ships and stuff like that. Instead of putting gear you like on your profile, everyone should start out with nothing and work their way up. Also there should be a standard official bar rp where you use credits to buy drinks. You could also trade items and sell items.

Hey man,

I would really encourage you to read the site rules, things that are going to happen with the New Timeline, and get a sense for the site as a whole.

I know you’ve talked to a few staff members who have tried to point you in the right direction. Suggestions are always great but it’s important to know the site before making them.

Hello there! The system you are suggesting would require way too much admin involvement to be viable. You had some good ideas though. That's why we announced a more important emphasis on character progression starting next timeline (to know more about the timeline that will be starting later this month, I suggest you read the announcements).

Like Abe said, it would be extremely cumbersome and impossible to manage on a site wide level, but also just doesn't really fit the the level of openness that is wanted here. However, if you find that an interesting way to play, I would really encourage you to build you're character that way. I have always played Jedi characters for the most part, so I don't deal alot with Tech and Equipment, but say you had a thread where your character pulled off a big heist, maybe you decide that let justifies them carrying around a little bit nicer weapon. You get the feeling of natural progression without restrictive rules.Building up a character like that can be pretty rewarding if done on your own informally

Another plus side to having a more open system is it doesn't just reward success. Many times it can't be easy to miss excellent story opportunity because people don't want to fail, but in reality some of my more memerable stories where onces where I failed IC goals.
