My first character, please help me with any critiques or ideas! Kind of trying to think of a realistic way for her to have learned some sort of combat skills.

NAME: Rhethi Xir
FACTION: N/A

SPECIES: Cathar
AGE: 21
GENDER: Female
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes, but she is unaware of this. It manifests as enhanced senses, reflexes, and agility, with occasional instances of muted telepathy.
APPEARANCE:
Delicate, slender build. Well-groomed tan fur with striking brown and cream markings. Deep brown eyes. The pointed ears, fangs, and retractable claws typical of Cathar.
ATTRIBUTES:
Physically weak, Rhethi prefers to slink into the shadows and avoid fights. She’s light on her feet, with quick reflexes. She has a constant awareness of her surroundings that has been honed through years of staying one step (or corner) ahead of abusive Masters. Though she never received a formal education, she’s fairly bright. She can think on her feet, and relies on her intuition about people. This can get her into trouble when her intuition is wrong.
PERSONALITY:
Rhethi has long since resigned herself to her lot in life. She was born a slave and will die a slave. Her primary goals are to avoid punishment as much as possible and minimize the amount of effort she has to expend to meet her Master’s demands. She has learned not to expect kindness, and that the only one who has her interests in mind is herself. She trusts no one and tries not to think about the future.
BIOGRAPHY:
Rhethi Xir was the runt born to a litter of five; three boys and two girls. Ravi and Nyvina Xir were slaves in a Chevin slave camp on Vinsoth. When she was young, Rhethi didn’t understand what being a slave meant. She watched her parents work tending the backshin herds of their Masters. As she grew older, she was expected to help with more tasks, but this seemed natural to her since it was what her parents did. Though they worked hard, there was rarely enough food for all five kits, and more often than not Rhethi was the one going to bed on a less-than-full stomach.
When she was the equivalent of 9, she and her siblings were taken from their parents and sold to an offworlder Zygerrian slave trader by the name of Jha Kinai, who subsequently sold them off to the highest bidder. After watching each of her siblings (amongst the other slaves Jha Kinai had collected) being sold off, Rhethi was the last remaining slave, with no noteworthy bids placed on her. She remained Jha Kinai’s personal slave for four years, assisting Jha in her business transactions (but mostly carrying luggage and running errands). Still being a child, Rhethi developed an odd attachment to her Master, despite her conflicting feelings about the fate of her family.
During a particularly delicate negotiation with the Hutt overlord Yaruk, Jha Kinai gifted Rhethi to Yaruk as a gesture of goodwill. Feeling betrayed, Rhethi shut down emotionally and stopped trusting other people entirely. For the remainder of her teenage years she worked in the Hutt’s kitchens. She started out washing cookware and dishes, but eventually was trained in preparing courses for the Hutt and his guests.
She finally escaped and has been on the run for the past year.
SKILLS:
Rhethi is good at going unnoticed. She naturally keeps her head down to avoid attracting attention, but she is always listening. She picked up a smattering of languages in her travels with Jha. She is a fairly skilled cook. Though she is Force sensitive, she is unaware of it, and views it as her natural sensory abilities and agility as a Cathar. She is sometimes able to read people, which she interprets as intuition or a gut feeling. She has no combat skills other than her gut instincts and reflexes, as such she would favor a defensive stance if confronted.
