I would not mind her death but would think she should instead go rouge or even join the empire. Let the others die in the last stand.
You might say she's... a rogue one.
From what I've heard, I think you're right. The assumption was that this had something to do with Rogue Squadron. Maybe it does, but the title of the film sounds more and more like it's about Jyn rather than any sort of callsign. This could very well be where Rogue Squadron comes from, but who knows. I definitely think the title is about Jyn.ROFL.
That, uh, might actually be why the films called that though...
Now, none of this was an attack on you or anything. You like what Rogue One is bringing to the table and you like that it's broadening the universe. So we're just talking about the process used to get there.
Not going to take it as an attack mate. I just see the process to be forced, although so far it hasn't diluted my enjoyment of a broader, more vibrant universe. Maz's Castle was basically what I wanted to see in the Prequels. Like I said, I just disagree with the notion, not the results. Things like, Donnie Yen, KanjiKlub, Forest Whitaker ( one of my favourite actors by the by ), are all great casting choices and in the case of Kanjiklub, used well to bring life to the setting.
When it goes beyond giving life to the setting, when it becomes blatantly forced and jarring, then I'm going to take umbrage with it in it's entirety. Kathleen's direction to bring more female leads is all well and good, but not at the expense of the viewer's enjoyment.
Besides. I can't be racist, I have a colour television.
Can you think of any examples where you feel something has been "forced" to the point that it was at the expense at your enjoyment? And why did it hurt your enjoyment?
It's not directly relevant but it's tangentially relevant to the discussion of more diversity in Star Wars. Would you be up for sharing what those instances in other media were? Not in Star Wars as of yet. Thankfully. In other media, yeah, I can think of a few that made me stop and go "Okay, what was the point of that being revealed?"
None of which is truly pertinent to the discussion of Rogue One.
Phasma origin story?
Just a really wild idea.
I doubt it. But, I wouldn't be surprised if what the characters in Rebels do next season ends up setting the stage for Rogue One.I really want to see how/if this is tied to anything from Rebels. Will we see a live version of Callus, Zeb, Ezra, Kanan, Hera.. anyone?

Mon Mothma pretty much has to be in Rebels eventually since it will likely end with the formation of the Alliance. But I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other Rogue One characters started showing up too. For example, Donnie Yen's character looks like he's blind. Considering he's both blind and a swordsman, he could very well be someone who helps Kanan adjust to being blind.I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we saw certain Rogue One characters eventually start appearing in Rebels S3. Like Mon Mothma, for instance.
