Ask Rogue Rouge Droid

[Newton]

Newton had grabbed the ion rifle, but unfortunately he couldn't do much as the droid shot at him. One shot impacted him in the upper head. Fortunately he had a helmet on, so that would mitigate damage somewhat. The helmet is ruined of course, he can feel the burn sensation, and the impact of the shot made him stagger and lose balance. But fortunately he avoided the second shot, which might have been fatal otherwise.

The rogue red droid was about to go for the finishing shot, but before it could, it was met with a blaster shot in the head as it was distracted. The droid itself would reel from the impact. If the rogue red droid was any other droid it would have fell then and there, but the droid has an armored head. The rogue droid would then step to the side upon hearing two more bolts coming it's way. One shot manage to hit is chest piece, leaving a burning hole in there, but it managed to dodge the other one which might have done in it in after it's chest armor was burned through.

The rogue droid would then aim towards the Ranger. But upon hearing his partner yell at him to shoot him, he would then attempt to straighten himself and ready to fire.

The rogue would then come down to ground level and put away it's rifle, clearly intending on settling this with metal-fisticuffs. Newton would then aim the ion rifle, leading the target as it is on it's way to deliver some pain. His arms were shaking, but then he fired, hoping for the best.

To Newton's delight, the shot would land, the bright blue bolt would land on the droid, disabling it, and causing it to fall to the ground.

The Blackwell Manager would then sigh in relief it's over. Newton would then discard the ruined helmet he was wearing and then comm over to his ship "Rigel, M7. In the starport, need evac." he would get affirmation from his ship. Newton would sigh in relief.

Shortly after Newton would then look towards the Sector Ranger and nod as if to say 'thank you'. Newton couldn't waste any more time, he would then go over to the droid, and pulling out his datacard as he does so. Hopefully the Ranger would honor his agreement now that this is done.

[Zad Ruzed]

Playing Distract the Droid had paid off in the end. Zad had hoped that his shots would have bought his partner enough time to snatch the ion blaster and squeeze the trigger. Fortunately one of those shots had smacked Rouge in the head, another in the chest, and the Ranger had tagged Newton back into the ring. Zad watched all the while, making his way over once he saw the blue flash and the droid collapse.

“Nice shooting,” Zad acknowledged while observing Newton’s movements. The technician had since conveyed his intentions on dealing with his company’s property. Even though the Ranger had since settled on destroying it, the droid was down for the count so there was not much need for that anymore. But it wasn’t over just yet.

“I’m hoping you’ll be distributing the results of your memory wipe, Mr. Newton. Sector Rangers will be expecting the basics from Blackwell, though I wouldn’t mind some peace of mind even earlier if you’re up for a quick call.” Zad had his doubts but offered his com number anyway.

“Wayne,” he spoke into his comlink a moment later. “Ready for pickup. I’ll send you the coordinates.” He turned back to Newton, ready to receive any response before walking away with a final word. “Sorry about Denny.”


The Iron Justice set down not far from their position. Zad had come back to keep his word. The scavenger was still alive, groaning a little less, though the Ranger did not carry him up the ramp just yet. “You know what this is?” He asked while retrieving the object from his coat.

“Y-Yeah…” The scavenger blinked as though deciding between telling the truth or lying. “It’s...a lightsaber hilt…”

“That it is...and you’re gonna tell me all about it.”

With that, the Ranger was off. One job done, another just begun.

[Newton]

All Newton could do is just nod towards the man as he was gritting this teeth, he could still feel winded after that blaster bolt shot, he's going to have a margined after this he thinks. "Of course", well, he did manage to get that out. He'll follow up with the Ranger for sure on the droid.

The Ranger did give condolences towards "Denny' though. Newton would look upon Deneb's remains. "No worries. He served well". It was a shame that he lost Deneb, that particular droid was Newton's own bodyguard droid when he needed him for outings like this, not only that, he was the first of the D3 line, the prototype. There was some sentimental value in that though.

"Farewell" the two parted ways. Newton would then insert the datacard into the P1 droid's reader socket, the ion disable won't last forever. The ion shock would wear off, and the droid would come to live once more. Once it was standing upright, it idle, as if it's still processing the datacard. The red droid would then turn to Newton. "Greetings. I am a P1-D3S class droid. How may I serve you?" The datacard wiped the droid's gave the droid a memory wipe. If the droid was totally captured, it would have fried it's own memory core, which would leave the droid an empty shell.

And with that, Newton can let out a sigh of relief as it worked, the droid is now reclaimed. Mission success. The damage to the armor and any components can be repaired. It's only a partial loss, and with proper repair the unit can be sold to make up for the loss.

The Messier 7 would then land on the landing pad. With that, Newton would step aboard. He would make arrangements for Deneb's parts to be recovered. Better that than let some salvagers get their hands on them
