Rogue Shield
To the bearer of this letter,
You’ve received this letter as an invitation to a special Armed Intervention Team that has been assembled to combat the growing tides of war and chaos running rampant through this galaxy.
This team has a single goal: Put a swift stop to war through the use of armed interventions in conflicts across the galaxy. I know the thought of attempting to stop war through the use of violence seems asinine, but all other methods of bringing about an end to war have been futile. At best, a persistent campaign of strategic interventions will cripple the galaxy’s willingness to fight and will force conflicting forces to the negotiating table. At worst, our interference will unite the nations of the galaxy against us under a common banner. Not exactly an idea position for us to be in, but it’s preferable to watching the galaxy continue to tear itself apart.
The Team has everything it needs to begin launching interventions. Everything save for one critical component: Manpower. That is why we need you; you have talents we need. Engineers, pilots, doctors, soldiers; we need all of them if our team is to ever accomplish our goal. Please, if you have any interest in helping us fight for peace, contact us using the information provided and we’ll send you co-ordinates for a meeting point right away.
The future of this Galaxy lays in your hands. The only question is: Will you fight for a future without war, or will you stand by and let us slip into oblivion?

Command Structure
Due to the small size of the team, the formal command structure is very limited. The only real ranks are those of ‘Team Leader’ and ‘Teammate’.The Team Leader is the commanding officer of the Rogue Shield team and performs most of the command tasks of the Team. The Team Leader’s primary goal, aside from making sure that the Team does not stray from their ultimate goal, is ensuring the safety and combat effectiveness of Rogue Shield.
The Teammates are the backbone of the group. They have a variety of different jobs, from performing as a Medic to a Exoskeleton Pilot. As there is no individual ranks for Teammates, they have little choice but to cooperate; if they don’t, they can’t exactly order one another around.
Tactics and Goals
Rogue Shield’s ultimate goal is the eradication of war and the establishment of peace utilizing a hit-and-run tactic known as an ‘Intervention.’ The Intervention is a high-speed raid on a conflict area with the goal of disrupting enemy logistics and personnel, thus crippling their ability to continue fighting. To prevent battles from turning into one-sided slaughters, both sides are attacked with equal ferocity until both are damaged to the point that they are incapable of continuing to fight.
Out of necessity, the team’s members must withdraw from the combat area immediately after the raid ends. Rogue Shield simply isn’t strong enough to wage conventional warfare, and any loss of manpower would be devastating to the group‘s effectiveness.
Equipment Overview
Rogue Shield has a strong focus on Combat Exoskeletons, known as ‘Mechs’ to the Team. Relatively small and compact machines, individual Mechs stand between 2.5 and 4 meters tall depending upon model, and are humanoid in overall appearance. There are three primary classes of Mech: Light, Medium, and Heavy. Each class is utilized for a different style of combat, but all three participate in Intervention operations to provide balanced attack power.
Generally, a Mech’s pilot customizes his or her Exoskeleton to fit their preferences. Granting a Mech a name isn’t uncommon, and due to their humanoid nature, it isn’t difficult to customize their combat load.
As for armor, the Mechs are fairly well defended; however, they are not invulnerable. Only the Heavy Mech can withstand intense volleys of blaster and rifle fire; both the Light and Medium Mechs must seek cover or evade the incoming rounds. For additional protection, it is not unusual for the Mechs to be equipped with forearm-mounted ballistic shields, sacrificing the ability to use two-handed weapons for a tremendous boost to their defensive abilities.
In terms of weaponry, Rogue Shield uses a mix of ballistic weapons, energy weapons, and blades. The actual use of weapons depends upon the specific requirements of a mission and the user’s preference; there is no ‘standard’ weapons loadout for the team, though most weapons are provided from the team‘s armory.
Base of Operations, Manpower, and Funding
Rogue Shield has no traditional base of operations. Instead, they operate off of a heavily armed corvette, the Amber Sky. Combining a mix of efficient armor, accurate weaponry, and lightning-fast engines, the Amber Sky is able to quickly insert Rogue Shield into conflict zones and extract them just as quickly while providing pinpoint covering fire.
Her best defense is not her armor or weaponry, but rather, her speed and stealth: Dark gray paint makes visual identification difficult, smoke dispensers can block visual and thermal sensors, and an advanced ECM suite aids in reducing the accuracy of enemy attacks: a very good thing, considering that the Amber Sky is little more than an oversized dropship and would likely fare poorly in a heated contest with another capital ship.
In terms of Manpower, Rogue Shield has barely enough crew to man the Amber Sky, placing their manpower at less than fifty individuals.
As for funding, the group relies entirely on taking what they need from their enemies and the black market. While this eliminates any sort of paper trail that could be used to track them, it ensures that the team is usually stuck in a ‘hand-to-mouth’ state of existence and rarely, if ever, has more than a month‘s worth of supplies and munitions.
