NAME: Ronnoth Lai, nicknamed “Ron Lai”.
FACTION: Jedi
RANK: Knight
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 25
GENDER: Male
FORCE SENSITIVE: Trained Force Sensitive, as much as any Jedi Knights

APPEARANCE:

Ron is 6 foot tall, short blonde hair, brushed towards the back of his head, hazel eyes and no beard. He wears white Jedi Robes, and his lightsaber handle is all black while the blade is blue.

ATTRIBUTES:

Ron Lai is very skilled in Lightsaber Fight, due to his intense and constant training. He’s specialized in fencing, mostly stabbing, and close combat, because of his master’s legacy to him, the custom-created Minus Form. As this Lightsaber Form requires, Ron is an expert on close combat and quickdrawing. All the other attributes are typical and average for Jedi Knights with his level of experience (Ron was graduated from Padawan five years ago).

On the physical aspects, Ron has high stamina, also because of his training. This means that his combat durability is quite high, at the cost of his lack of versatility with the Force other than Force Push. Ron’s training is basically oriented more for fighting than for being subtle, like using Force powers or…keeping enemies alive. Regarding strength, speed and agility he’s not above average, being in the same level of all other Jedi Knights. Because of such lack of mastery he’s not one to stand above everyone else in any group situations.

PERSONALITY:

Like all stable-minded Jedi Knights, Ron Lai is stoic. He is so focused on objectives he can get awkward when in a mission. Approaching him without mentioning his name, when he’s out of a mission, will result in a very weird and laughable reaction from him, as he doesn’t believe anyone would want to just talk to him, so he will not answer unless it’s unquestionably obvious that people are talking to him.

Regarding Jedi affairs, he’s a tries too hard to be serious. It’s not that he frowns continuously, but he’s always too focused on his matters. Ironically enough he’s always among the very few who manage to keep his mind stable and his emotions cool in serious situations, almost as if his personality was made to stay under control during emergencies, but was also made to be incompatible to other situations.

BIOGRAPHY:

NOTE: THE DESCRIBED FORM IS MOSTLY FOR AESTHETICAL PURPOSES, IT CHANGES VERY LITTLE REGARDING COMBAT STYLE

As a padawan, Ron was easily the most loyal student to the Jedi Order. As he grew up and became a Jedi Knight, this didn’t change at all. His belief on the Jedi lore is unbreakable, mostly due to his trust on the Jedi Masters.

Ron used to admire his master a lot, seeing him as a father figure. Ron saw him as a flawless Jedi and, in his mind, his master was the greatest Jedi Master he ever met. Unfortunately, his opinion about his master wasn't only biased but also wrong. Said master was being tempted by the Dark Side, and eventually fell to such temptation...in the midst of battle against a sith. Ron, his master, and another Jedi Master were in a mission to stop a mercenary who was hired by a sith to attack specific targets. The information was a lie, and all they found was a sith whose name was never revaled. The Sith felt the growing doubt within the mind of Ron's master and kept tempting him over and over during the fight. Eventually, he succeeded, and the former Jedi Master gave in to his hatred, viciously murdering the Sith and attacking his padawan and his comrade. Ron was too shocked and surprised to react, so the other Jedi Master - whose name he never found out yet - was quick to defend him and, thanks to the traitor's Custom Lightsaber Fight Form being incompatible with an angry mind, the Fallen Jedi was easily slain by the Unnamed Jedi Master while Ron simply watched, shocked, surprised and confused. His blind admiration was clashing with the reality of the fact that an Unnamed Jedi Master just saved him from the person he loved like a father.

Said Master admitted that he made a terrible mistake to slay the traitor in front of someone who admired him a lot, but to his good surprise, the only emotions Ron showed were of disappointment to know he worshipped a now traitor to the Jedis.

However, his death did take a tool inside Ron’s head. While not becoming unstable, doubt began growing into his mind. The Jedis advised Ron to abandon everything his master taught other than the basic, which he did, but relenting from the good memories wasn’t easy. Finding himself unable to let go so easily, he was granted, upon request, a time to live in exile until he could make up his mind and defeat all the doubts growing inside him. As a product of his own newfound doubt, he took some books from his deceased master and went away.

As he researched the books, Ron found only disappointment, since most of the knowledge there was driven towards the Dark Side, indicating that his master's temptation had begun long ago, so he destroyed most of the books. Only one of them had something actually useful: a custom Lightsaber form called Negative Form. It consisted of a Form meant to be able to neglect all other forms – except Vaapad – by exploring all their weaknesses at the same time. However, such secret wasn’t explained, his master going to hold it until Ron became a Sith like him, or so Ron thought. Still, the basics were still written down. He figured that his master probably knew he could have to confront other Jedi at any moment, so he left those drafts.

Ron spent five years learning the little he has about the Negative Form. Misinterpretating its name, since Negative was meant to be Negation, Ron changed its name to Minus Form, as a reference to the number of the Lightsaber Forms. Minus form consists on close combat, to abuse quickdraw to sheathe and unsheathe the saber’s blade continuously to make it easy to avoid the enemy’s defenses and prevent them from measuring the range of his weapon with their eyes. It’s a powerful form for close fighting against wide movements or big weapons like spears and lances, but completely unusable against long ranged weapons, as it relies on keeping the saber sheathed as much as possible. In those cases Ron switches back to the first form he learned, Form V. Another advantage is to spare the usage of Force with the weapon, so Ron can outlast his enemy either by using the Force very little or by outlasting the enemy physically. He is aware of the fact that, due to Minus Form being oriented to kill the enemy as fast as possible, it might cause controversy among the more conservative Jedis, who believe their weapon should be used for self-defense.

His training on the Minus Form wasn’t for free. Because of his time alone, Ron harboured a sheer despise for Siths of any kind, and forgot the concept of second chances. He believes all Sith must be eliminated without a chance to redeem themselves, although he is able to forgive them for their crimes, since this doesn’t change his wish to have the Sith eradicated.

After spending five entire years training, he finally managed to eliminate his doubt, as his final answer was to choose both Jedi Order and the teachings from his master – in the form of Minus Form – and now he considers himself ready to rejoin the Jedi Order. He also seeks to discover the identity of the Jedi who killed his former master, and thank him for saving his mind from being dragged to the Dark Side.

SKILLS:

Advanced Swordsmanship – Fencing and quickdrawing

Advanced Lightsaber Form – Custom Form – Minus Form

Skilled Lightsaber Form – Form V

Basic Lightsaber Form – Form II

High Stamina – Product of his intense training.,

Normal Force Sensitivity – No more, no less than any Jedi Knights.

Very basic medical skills – He only has enough capability to stop or reduce bleeding from wounds. All he can do is basically gain time for people to get proper treatment.

GEAR:

Nothing more than any other Jedi Knights have.

CHANGELOGS:
- Corrected story upon request
- Removed any mentions to a Sith's name that I didn't know it was part of the Canon (What, you thought I did that on purpose? Silly you!)
- Removed mention to independent faction as I'll make a new character to add in that faction.
- Stopped eating sandwich in the morning and started eating crackers because they are healthier, or at least I hope so.
(Now it's gotta work!)

Hey! Just going over your profile for approval. Just so you know, as per the new faction rules, your character can only be in one faction at the time. So you'll have to choose between the Accord and the Jedi.

The biggest piece that might not fly is the Sith master. I really don't see that being a viable thing at this point. You would need @Sapphire Storm to approve anything like that as well as my consent which at this point is a No with a chance of maybe. Not trying to sound harsh as it is a good story. I would suggest saying your master was tempted by the dark side and he eventually was killed by his own corruption for X reason or event. Which would be a very similar impact on you I think.

Once you edit let us know and we can review the character for the Jedi again.

That's actually a fantastic idea? Why didn't I think of that before? Well, changes have been made.

Also, for that matter...

Darth Phobos?

(Yes, I know she's not canon anymore, but c'mon.)

I didn't know there was a Sith with that name, I was actually trying to crate a Sith name that was not in canon. Sorry.

Yeah, well, TFU.

I'm surprised I know anything about the game given I never owned it myself.

The Force Unleashed. The game where Darth Phobos first showed up as a character.

Dammit. I've spent 60 entire minutes searching my mind to a possible Sith name that wouldn't show up in the universe. My bad.
