[Dr Ilana Morata]

When it came to business, there would only be so long before the hospital bed would drive the doctor mad. When every poke and prod would drive her to the edge, when every question felt like a needle and finally she would escape. When she did, the message that came her way was the perfect excuse.

When she invited her company over, she made sure it was in her office. A pot of tea waited in fine china with two cups, and she was dressed in a simple cut black dress, white cardigan and heels. Her company would arrive any minute, and she was curious what this woman would want to offer.

While she was being guided through the corridors of the MorataCorp, Sibyl thought about the reasons for her being there. Dr. Illana Morata's speech during the Senate Assembly aroused the interest of the Brentaal Houses in her work. Her company was proving very profitable, so the Brentaal Houses wanted to share in those profits. So they appointed the Senator as a representative to carry out a deal. The Brentaalan woman also planned to make her own investments.

This meeting would have happened early, but due to the attack that Dr. Morata suffered, it was postponed until she recovered. Now that the CEO was discharged from the hospital, they finally could talk about business.

Sibyl was wearing a purple dress, the color of the Brentaalan nobility. Unlike some nobles that would only use clothes with this color, the Senator didn't care about the tradition, for her the important thing is that she looked beautiful in whatever she was wearing. By coincidence she thought that this purple dress suited her very well.

She arrived at the door of the Doctor's office, the assistant who was guiding her entered and announced that the Senator was there. Soon he returned saying that she could enter. Then Sibyl walked through the door.

Inside the room the Brentaalan woman saw the Doctor seated at a table with a tea set in it. Sibyl wasn’t impressed by the woman's clothes, for the CEO of a successful corporation she dressed very blankly. She walked to the table "Dr. Morata, it's a pleasure to see that you recovered well!" the Senator said, with one of her characteristic fake smiles. "I hope that our talk today will be very productive."

If the woman wanted to give a good impression, the Senator of Brentaal did very poorly. Just as much as the woman gave her a critical eye, the Doctor gave the very same cool assessment. Fake smile, fake cheer, all of it was precisely the reason why she despised her mother's type of people. Senator Lassiter and Yselti Morata would have gotten along very well.

"Senator," she greeted lightly, with a slight bow. "Please, take a seat. I apologize for not meeting you personally. It would not have suited to meet in a hospital bed, and since I have not been entirely cleared, I would have hated to keep you waiting. Thank you for your patience."

Lightly perching her hand on the teapot, she tilted her head to the woman, amber eyes in a calm, neutral gaze. "Would you care for some tea, before we begin?"

”It wasn’t a problem. I understand that you still need to recover.” the Senator was impressed with the resilience that Ilana seemed to have. Few would want to go back to work after being attacked. Due to that,the Arkanian already won some points with Sibyl.

“Of course, I’ll accept the tea.” the Senator answered the Doctor’s question, while taking a seat in front of her. Sibyl would wait for Ilana to fill a cup for her “I’m glad that you were able to have time to meet me. It's admirable how dedicated you are to your work, many in your place would still be recovering." this time the Brentaalan woman was really sincere.

After the tea was served, the Senator decided that it was best to start talking about her visit “Since you are still recovering, I don’t want to tire you. Perhaps we should start to talk about business.” she made a pause to sip some tea. It was good, but probably from some cheap brand. What a shame, she expected more of the Arkanian. ”After your speech in the Galactic Senate, the Brentaal Houses became interested in investing in MorataCorp and its products. Me, as heiress of the Lassiter Family, also desire to become an investidor.”

The woman bowed her head once, both at the woman's politeness and her words. Though she doubted the woman would have bothered to come all this way to check on her health, it was considerate nonetheless. "MorataCorp was my dream; rest is something even I cannot afford for long. But I thank you."

She hadn't expected anyone to be so eager to step in for an investment, but here they were already. Did she know the tea she drank was grown from the Doctor's own cultivations? "I am pleased to hear my company has caught your attention, my Lady. As you know, my company's work with the vaccine is only the first step. Would you, perhaps, wish to become more than an investor? Brentaal is, from what I have heard and seen, an illustrious hub of the galaxy; your reputation precedes you, and I am intrigued." She shifted once, slightly, readjusting herself and taking another sip, golden eyes glancing over the rim of her cup.

She had her curiosity, but now the woman held her attention.

Sibyl sipped some of the tea while Ilana talked. It was surprisingly delicious. The Senator didn't expect that someone like the doctor would have a good taste for this type of beverage. She had thought that the other woman to be some of these types that lived by drinking cheap caf and energy drinks to remain awake while working. It was really a surprise.

She always thought that people like Ilana, scientists that remained hours in a laboratory, didn't have any taste for good things, even if they were rich and could afford a luxurious life. When she brought the cup to her mouth, Sibyl expected to taste something insipid. However, the tea was really good, she could compare it to one of the finests that she had drank.

When Dr. Morata finished talking, Sibyl smiled at her. She loved to deal with people that went directly to the point. These were far better to deal with than sycophants. Ilana was correct, he wanted to be more than a simple investidor. She had saw potential in MorataCorp, a corporation that could become even more profitable than it already was.

After sipping a bit more of her tea, Sibyl placed her cup on the table and looked directly at Ilana. "Yes, this interests me. I wonder if it could be possible. Due to my position in Brentaal, MorataCorp would have benefits there. Alongside the use of its products by the trade guilds controlled by my family."

It was good to see the Senator so direct as well. She was surprised when the woman seemed to genuinely smile; Amariel took care to not let it show, but still, hearing her be more direct was a refreshing change of pace. She winced slightly when she attempted to shift, and it brought on a faint throb; she would have to look at the shot later. However, this was intriguing.

"I will happily accept," she stated simply, also lowering her own cup. "But, pardon me for being blunt, I would like specifications. Would you want MorataCorp to be hosted directly on Brentaal proper, and what may my company do in exchange for such an honor?" She inclined her head slightly. "It pleases me to provide aid to the galaxy more fully. MorataCorp will not simply sit by with the vaccine; we are a medical research and rescue company as well. Would you, perhaps, be interested in sponsoring a hospital as well?" Amber eyes measured the woman carefully, her hands now flat on her desk.

She wasn't sure for how much longer she could maintain civility, but the woman was intriguing. Closed off, less so than Emryc, but more so than even most politicians she had met. Briefly, she wondered if... but no, she couldn't be Force-trained. But she was intriguing.

Sibyl smiled when Morata asked what her company could offer in exchange for what the Governor had offered. This was the moment that she was waiting for. Now she would see how much Ilana was willing to offer in exchange for so many benefits.

Before she answered the woman, the Brentaalan sipped some more tea. It was really good! ”Yes, I was hoping that your company would be interested in being hosted at Cormond, Brentaal’s capital. Imagine how it would be beneficial for it to be located at the intersection of the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route. It would facilitate the trade of the products. ” she paused, giving some time for the doctor to think about it. “It would also allow your products to have more access to the market of the Core Worlds.”

She didn’t think about sponsoring a hospital, but now that the doctor had mentioned it, it could be wonderful for her image. “Sponsoring a hospital would be something that I would like to do. See, even with it being one of the richest planets of the Core, Brentaal still has some citizens that live in poverty.” Sibyl only cared for these miserables because they were still necessary for the economy to work. If it wasn't for that, they could disappear.

“Perhaps this hospital could also offer some medical care for them.” perhaps now the poors of Brentaal could also be useful to show to the Galaxy how she cared for charity. She wondered if Ilana would accept that. This could be also good for the image of the MorataCorp.

She nodded along with the senator, so far, it was promising. A new path for MC, and working with Lassiter to boot.

Hopefully, she would not be disappointed.

"MorataCorp offers aid to all, regardless of financial status," she spoke up calmly, lowering her cup to its' saucer with a delicate clink. "Having come from humbler origins, we respect those who require aid. Perhaps... if there are problems with poverty, we might discuss a mutually beneficial solution?" She cocked her head slightly once more, giving the woman a slight smile. "But I graciously accept your offer, Governor, it's a true honor to work with Brentaal."

Sibyl smiled at Ilana’s answer. Being responsible for bringing the MorataCorp to Brentaal would make her be praised by the Brentaal Houses, while founding a hospital with them would also conquer the poor of the planet. Both were groups that she needed to please if she wanted to be reelected to her political position.

“Like any planet, Brentaal also has its poor population. Any help that MorataCorp could offer beyond the hospital could be welcome.” of course, she didn’t want the rabble to receive too much. After all, they still needed to be dependent on the government. However, they living under terrible conditions would be terrible for business. Who would do the more menial work if they died or were sick?

“Perhaps this hospital could also help to vaccinate them. With the vaccines being spread across the Galaxy, Brentaal would need a place where its people could receive theirs.” most of the Brentaal Houses were already vaccinated, but among the rabble it was still slow. There were few places where it could happen. The new hospital could be perfect for it.

She nodded slowly once more, fingers lacing before her. "I will agree to that condition, as well. Since it's been permitted for this vaccine to be freely provided to the galaxy, MorataCorp will happily extend that service to Brentaal." With that out of the way, she set the tea cup aside, and extended a pale white hand.

"We have an accord, Madam Governor?"

She paid close attention to what Ilana was saying. The presence of the MorataCorp and their help to distribute vaccines on Brentaal would be beneficial for everyone. The corporation would have a presence in one of the richest planets of the Galaxy, while the nobility, mostly Sibyl herself, would be praised by the pleb.

A smile appeared on her lips when Ilana agreed with it. “It is excellent! In name of the population of Brentaal, I thank you for accepting help in the vaccination campaign of our homeworld.” as soon as she returned to the planet, Sibyl was already going to prepare a press coverage for announcing it. This was going to be perfect for her image.

“Yes, we have.” Sibyl said, while accepting the doctor’s hand and shaking it. “As soon as I arrive in Brentaal, I’m going to make the necessary bureaucratic procedures.” well, Tristodd was going to make it while she rested. After all, she deserved it for having the difficult part. “I’ll contact you when it’s finished. It’ll be a pleasure to have your company there, helping take care of the health of our population.”

Then, she finished her tea and placed the cup on the table. “I think that is time for me to go. I can wait for the arrival of the MorataCorp on Brentaal.” Sibyl said, while getting up from her chair.

The Arkanian Offshoot offered the other woman a nod, pressing a button, where her aide waited. "Forgive me not walking you out personally," she replied, waving a hand to her back, "but I cannot walk just yet. Until next time, Governor. I look forward to working with Brentaal."

She waited until the other woman left, before exhaling slowly. Flicking her screen to life, she began looking at other contacts. Perhaps other ISC planets would follow suit, especially if the Brentaal governor were to announce this. Though the G.H.O. was still her brainchild and creation, they would not rely on that to expand.

MorataCorp would continue to thrive, if she had any say in it. And this was merely the beginning.
