Rp questions/help

Hello, I recently made a new sub, Chakaa one of his goals is to make his protocol droid shorter. Now my question is how would I do this? Would it be a plot, or just normal rp? My thought for the Droid imageHere, I imagine he uses parts from the broken Astromech he has on his ship, and from his working Protocol Droid. Would I need to rp with someone who can draw up blueprints?and make the Droid? because when it comes time to do a tech write up for the Droid am at a loss for who would be the manufacturer etc.

You would need a generic tech profile for the droid itself. Then a character plot could be a fun thing to include making him or acquiring him. Though you won't technically need a plot if it is just a simple little droid.
