DESCRIPTION​

The RS-1 Repulsor Scout is an armored reconnaissance landspeeder which was developed by the Mekuun Corporation, originally for the Galactic Empire. The RS-1 generally served as the lightest element of an Imperial armored formation, tasked with scouting ahead of the group. It was also used as a patrol vehicle on occupied worlds. In form, it is essentially a jumped-up technical, crewed by a driver and a gunner, the latter crewing a mounted heavy repeating blaster on a relatively exposed firing platform. Up to 4 other passengers can be carried. The vehicle is protected by armored durasteel plating, which allows it to shrug off most small arms fire short of heavy blasters and anti-tank weapons. It is exceptionally good on rough terrain, and is capable of speeds up to 300 kph on level ground.

Notably, the RS-1, being designed for reconnaissance, is equipped with an integrated electrotelescope and radar scanner. Crews also often carry boxes of remotes aboard, used for clearing suspected minefields.

The RS-1, thanks to its simple, rugged and supremely capable design, has long outlasted the empire it was built to serve. Examples can be found on many planets in military and police service, and even in the hands of criminal gangs and other outlaws.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. RS-1 Repulsor Scouts are purpose-built combat craft, and are thus generally restricted from civilian ownership on most civilized worlds.
